   C’est la vie. It isn’t like the local marijuana biz would survive a year or two of legalization. Commercial farmers would take over and that would be that. You might see a bit of boutique growing just like you currently have the odd brewpub and home distillery. It’s important for the locals to keep it illegal, so I would hope they are spending a bit of money lobbying for that.

    Well I am not surprised –
    It’s going to be a letdown. Not only is it likely that the final report will not reveal that the president has been a KGB agent since the late ’80s, as at least one mainstream liberal columnist fantasized. It is also possible that it will never even be released to the public, at least not in full. Unless they are granted permission to review them under various conditions that will be imposed by the Department of Justice, not even members of Congress will be able to read Mueller’s findings. For reasons that have as much to do with Mueller’s own personality and style as they do with the sensitive nature of the material, the text itself is unlikely to be the sweeping anti-Trump manifesto that the president’s fiercest liberal critics are longing for. There is every reason to believe that it will be a straightforward, minimally expansive document that does not volunteer information that is not absolutely relevant to the main findings.
    The best hope for Mueller’s cheerleaders was not that games of connect-the-dots would implicate Trump in a treasonous plot to sell the White House to Moscow but that the loose-lipped president would trap himself in a lie, perhaps meaningless in itself, about some detail or other that would open him to a charge of perjury. This would not have proved that collusion took place — if anything it would go a long way towards vindicating the president’s own “witch hunt” narrative — but it would have satisfied the critics, who just want to see the president charged with a crime. Unfortunately, Rudy Giuliani and the rest of Trump’s legal team made sure that this was never going to happen. Every question has been put to the president in writing and answered with the assistance of dozens of professionals with longer attention spans and a firmer grasp of capitalization and punctuation.

    That seems a good bet to me.
    To some extent, I think I’d enjoy a +1 Dem advantage or +1 Rep advantage, just for the fireworks potential. All results will be interesting given that a Republican holding of the House will result in mobs nationwide while a Democratic takeover will see a bunch of ginned up ‘investigations’, grandstandings, and hullaballoo. No doubt the House staffers have a stack of Things that Trump might have said in the 1980’s or a need to see his tax returns in order to find a flaw in the deductions on some hotel…all important matters for the running of the country. There’s hardly anything better than Maxine Watters pounding the podium on someone else’s sketchy business deal.
    The other one I’m looking forward to (although I wish her no ill will) is the replacement of Ginsburg. No doubt there’s a whole floor in Maryland somewhere doing oppo research on Amy Barrett, inventing facts if need be. It might be enough to turn back the clock and declare her to be a Papist.
    lol. Who knew that having 57 genders and a need for open borders would be enough to tear up the country. Any practitioner of realpolitik must be laughing their asses off.
    Just to keep things straight, my handlers at the Kremlin told me to post up this slide from a California high school.

    Ruth Bladder Ginsberg.
    “I wish her no ill will”. Neither do I. Just shows how far we have sunk since Ginsberg’s Confirmation. Everybody knew she was a ACLU lawyer and she was treated respectfully and sailed through. She was qualified. And she jumped into politics when she said she would move to New Zealand if Trump won and how awful Trump is….without the Leftinistas raising the specter of the “politicization of SCOTUS”, lol.
    Then there was Sonia Sotomayor who was something like 0-9 arguing the government’s case before SCOTUS. Sailed through the conformation. Qualified. Kagan did not have much courtroom experience, still deemed qualified. Treated more than fairly and with respect.
    Ginsberg has so many people already lined up and signed up to donate their organs to her if needed….while they are still alive. Here Ruth, take my kidney or whatever you need. Just don’t die! Pump her up with whatever that stuff they shot Hillary up with to keep her vertical. All in all, I wish her (Ruth) no ill will….but I ain’t going to give her my liver.
