[It's clear that our liberal readers have a wildly different conception of 'witch hunt' than the rest of us. The WH effort to discover the self-declared anonymous leaker and resister who wrote the NYT op-ed is an existential and legitimate target of an internal investigation to ferret out someone who promises to make shambles of presidential executive privilege. There is nothing here to compare with what Mueller is doing in his investigation of Trump which is based on allegations and no evidence of 'Russian collusion' after an 18+ month probe into the affairs of Team Trump. There was no culpable evidence to launch the investigation, and its interminable continuation is also based on nothing but the hope of perhaps finding something in future. Now that is a witch hunt. gjr]

Omarosa, Woodward, the NYT editorial, the Kavanaugh hearings, blah, blah, blah. Ain’t nothing that we have not heard on a weekly basis from the NYT, Wa Compost, or the Huff-N-Post for the past 18 months on a slow news day. Nothing new, everything still the same. And not person has come forward saying, “Pssst, Trump whispered to so and so that he colluded with the Russians.” That is the only story that has drawn crickets.
The McCain funeral bash-a-ton…the Aretha Franklin funeral bash-a-thon, blah, blah, blah. What it this week? Oh yeah, the coordinated effort of previews of Woodward’s book, followed the next day the NYT editorial, and one or two events I have already forgotten. Oh yeah, millions of women are going to die. All this is coordinated just to wear the populace down to such degree that the R’s will throw up their hands and not show up at the polls. That is the goal.
So, the 25th Amendment is back, Colin Kap is doing his Al Bundy imitation by selling shoes, and the NYT editorial will be forgotten by Wednesday. And we are all going to die.

So Obama is back on the campaign trail, bad news for the Republicans. Obama may not have been a very good President but he was a GREAT campaigner. He left office with an approval rating of +17.9 consensus polling compared to Trumps dismal -12.6. That’s a 29 point difference.

Obama is a good campaigner. He is out stumping with his usual “if they bring a knife, you bring a gun” song and dance. Dire consequences, Democracy is at stake! And, of course, Russia, Russia, Russia!
“What happened to the Republican Party?” he said. “Its central organizing principle in foreign policy was the fight against communism, and now they’re cozying up to the former head of the KBG.”
Yep, we are all Putin cuddlers now, along with being bitter clingers and 2nd Amendment believers. And hideous defenders of the 1st Amendment. Did he mention how he wiretapped reporters and even their parents’ e-mails? Oh, did he mention how our Founding Fathers based their beliefs on Islam again? Looks like he forgot to mention how he misjudged the Arab Spring and got us involved in Syria, Libya, and that nothingburger about Grass Valley’s Native Son. It was all about some video nobody saw. And what about the horrendous humanitarian crisis he got us in Syria? And the felonies committed inside the Oval Office by illegally unmasking US citizens.
Did like how Obama is whinning that he is not getting the credit for the economy. Hey, it was Obama that cancelled the Spring Recovery Tour way back then, not us bigots and bullies. He was the one who told us that jobs are never coming back, to get use to the new normal of under 3% growth every single year of the 8 years he was at the helm. Pity he isn’t getting enough credit for the economy. A cryin’ shame, I tell ya. My, my, we give Obama all the credit for his economy and now he wants more.
Obama is a very effective campaigner. Now that his book has been completed and that 60 million payoff check has been cashed, Obama has plenty of time on his hands to go out do some campaigning and tossing that fear and divisiness around, not to mention putting the fear of God into folks about the dire consequences and the end to democracy……democracy as he knows it.

The best part is where the good Judge gives her a good slap across the chops.

Is there any norm against a duly elected administration that the Dems – now with the historical entry of Obama to defend his dreadful administration – have not violated?
No liberal has at any time wanted to define the terms they use in a debate; their implied meanings meander with all the constancy of the Queen of Hearts. Lots of talk about ‘witch hunts’, with no one stopping to define it. Here’s the sense within which I use ‘witch hunt’ – An effort to discover something and/or someone that is neither constrained nor purposed, save so as to uncover something/anything pejorative against a political target that proceeds without any evidential basis or promise of success. The political profit of witch hunts is from the continuance of an investigation for the sake of providing fodder for directed propaganda. Alternative definitions invited.

“Most recently, the tight labor market helped reintegrate retirees back into the workforce. Breitbart News has also reported extensively on how the tight labor market in Trump’s “hire American” economy has brought new job opportunities for Americans with disabilities and helped lower the demographic group’s unemployment rate.
There has also been history-making wage growth for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businesses, black Americans, and restaurant workers.
The tight labor market has also secured higher wages for overtime workers and high-paying, coveted white-collar jobs for American teenagers. Most recently, Breitbart News reported that the construction industry has had to recruit women to take jobs at higher wages rather than hiring illegal aliens. A Chick-Fil-A in California has even raised wages to $18 an hour to retain workers.”

Shouldn’t that be radio Farta?
Iranian lawmakers are urging the country’s regime to consider rationing food and using food coupons as the pressure of U.S. sanctions begin to take their toll, Radio Farda reported this week.
On Tuesday, the parliament approved a bill calling on the regime to begin importing food items such as meat, rice, sugar, bread, and other essential commodities and start selling them at subsidized prices at cooperatives and state-owned shops that would allow more people to access and afford them.
The bill asks the regime “to organize a network for the distribution of essential commodities via cooperatives, state-owned shops, as well as labor organizations and work-places in order to distribute families’ requirements at a subsidized rate.”

from Paul (who won’t answer my questions but repeatedly demands that I answer his):
“Well Scott at least Todd agrees with me that woman have the right to choose. where do you stand on that? ”
Right to choose what? Are you talking about choosing to kill their unborn child – a human life – because she doesn’t want to be bothered? Is that what you are asking me?
I’ll have to assume so, since you certainly will never answer me.
First of all – there is no ‘right to choose’ in the Constitution. The idea that a person can ‘choose’ to end an innocent person’s life was never even considered as a ‘unenumerated’ right.
If the child is born, the father shares in the responsibility of caring and providing for that child. Or at least he should. If the father is expected to be responsible for the child, then it follows that the father shall have the commensurate rights as well. So we first need to see that the father, as well as the mother have an equal say (legally) in any decision to possibly end the child’s life. In fact, the mother can jolly well go off and kill the child and there’s not a lot the father can do about it. There have been a few cases involving the father trying to stop the mother from aborting his (their) child but reality is that the mother’s wishes trump the father’s by default no matter what any court decides.
In most cases, the pregnant woman contemplating abortion is not married to the father and in a large number of cases, may not even be in contact with the father.
So.
Does the woman have the ‘right’ to kill the unborn human life inside of her?
At this point in time, in the US, the answer is, legally – yes. There are provisions that certain guidelines are to be followed. Usually these involve a time limit on the stage of growth of the child.
Apparently the appearance of a human life needs to hew to certain precepts to be regarded as actually human. If they appear to be somewhat below the thresh hold of whatever arbitrary standard is set, then they are not deemed to be a human. Or they are deemed to be a human but are too far removed in appearance to have suddenly acquired any human rights. I’m not sure about this since no one who accepts these standards seems to want to talk about it. Most pro-abortion on demand folks seem to have the idea that since they are not sure of what it is, you may as well go ahead and kill it.
There are many arguments in favor of abortion on demand that point to scenarios involving – incest, rape, the expectant mother’s poverty, the expectant mother’s youth and so on. Incest and rape are certainly horrific and criminal but we do not solve the problem by killing the innocent child. In fact – PP is pretty blase about underage girls getting abortions in order to cover up statutory rape.
If you want to know my final answer (personally) as to whether or not a woman has the right to choose to kill an innocent human life, I would simply ask you to point any woman and then I would ask you if she has the right to kill you.
Or do you think you have more rights than other humans based on nothing more than your age?

Well, it looks like my 510pm nailed the definition of ‘witch hunt’. In fact mine is more complete, but the accepted “modern” one is close enough. By either definition, the bottom line is that Mueller is conducting a witch hunt, while the WH looking for the inside Trump resister and potentially criminal leaker is not.
