So argues Manny Montes in an excellent piece in the 6sep18 Union (here).  Mr Montes, who lives in Auburn, is a kindred spirit we have cited before in these pages.  He begins by reminding us how the lamestream media misleads and purposely spreads discontent (‘enemy of the people’?) by continuing to imply that the ‘rich’ don’t get taxed enough and therefore don’t pay their ‘fair share’.  Citations of concurring Democrat congress critters abound; even some who militate to taxing 70% of the first million you earn, and make the point “… if you can’t get by on $300,000 in a country where so many …”.  Never mind that of the federal tax burden "the top 1 percent shoulders 40 percent, the top 10 percent, 71 percent, and the top 20 percent, 87 percent."

He points out the fundamental reality of how socialism is like a cancer that is “inextricably dependent on the producers for their viability”, and “like a cancer, feeding on healthy cells, the progressive socialist must inescapably feed … off the producers of wealth. … Their animal kingdom counterpart is the leech.”  And in its inevitable end, as we have repeatedly seen, socialism is a “cancer (that) essentially commits suicide, feeding on its host until the host has no more to give.”

Montes also cites one of our favorite leftist pundits of plunder, Saul Alinsky, who in Rules for Radicals instructs his acolytes ‘How to Create a Socialist State’, wherein Rule #2 states “Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.”  This “morally repugnant” dictum has been followed to the letter by Democrats who long ago launched the nation’s greatest multi-decadal social bamboozle called the ‘Great Society’, whose policies and programs went on to destroy minority families and create poverty wholesale in our cities under their decades of seemingly misguided administrations, abetted by Washington, that actually hewed to chapter and verse of Alinsky’s teachings.  (Of course, those read in history know that Alinsky was himself a student of Lenin, and, in turn, the ideological mentor of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  The Left continues its lame attempt to pass off Alinsky as just “the father of community organizing”, which he was not, since the Bolsheviks perfected that art of pernicious public persuasion a century ago.)

Mr Montes reminds the reader in his takeaway on capitalism, that as a counter to collectivism, “there is only one economic system which provides the greatest opportunity for all to achieve self-reliance, and that is capitalism. The flip side of the capitalism coin is individual rights. This is the moral basis of capitalism. The right of individuals to live as they see fit with respect for the rights of others to live as they see fit.”  And as we often conclude such sentiments on RR, the reader is again invited to revisit and meditate on Bastiat’s triangle of rights.

Now you’ve done it. Denigrating the leech. How dare you.
I ask – “Who will stand for Hirudo medicinalis?”
“It is I”, says the wise fox.
And comparing me to socialism? A pox on thee; but just a small one.
Try re-attaching a fingertip without using my H. medicinalis enzymes to keep the capillary blood flowing, and you may have trouble keeping the tip. Think gangrene. And the smell of it is worse than socialism can clean up.
I spit on your grave. Wait! Wait! Belay that! Since I am a firm believer in capitalism, my spit (with its antibiotic- and anesthetic-containing compounds) comes with a price attached. I fear that I must charge a small stipend for spitting on your grave. If there is no other competitive remedy available, then it will be a large stipend – since I am a firm believer in capitalism. That’s the way it’s supposed to work.
Hey, there’s my cousin Bernie sliding over. How are ya Bern? Oh my gosh, someone just stepped on cousin Bern.
Yes, officer, I recorded his Go-Pro just before he shuffled off this mortal coil. As you can see, the last thing he saw was ‘BLM’ on the boot. They must be doing their semi-annual sweep for invasive species. They barely missed me. Typical socialists those – they came to ‘help’, then caused unintended consequences. And the government doesn’t like competition.
Bye Vern. We’ll cremate you, so you don’t become CRISPR.

Reas Crabb’s ditty on the news of the day and got a kick out it. Funny how a person can believe in nothing but tell us he believes in “anonymous”. My goodness. The country is being held hostage by the lamestream media and if not for a few places, we would never get the truth from them. But Trump seems to get these idiots all excited enough to call him names. He is a capitalist and yes to risk your money and life to make things go in this country you probably are a little unpredictable.

Oooops a sitting Dem Senator got caught telling the truth about the socialist/dems –
“There are a lot of people coming from out of state, socialists coming in, trying to defeat me,” Carper was heard saying just before 4:00 p.m. from the Amtrak café car, presumably on his way to vote for himself back in his home state.
Carper was also heard characterizing his opponent Harris as a socialist. He stressed a need for the party to stem the tide of incumbents losing primaries to far-left candidates, saying the socialists were ruining the party, according to the source

There’s the old fake quote again, this time repeated by the both eyes blind Crabbman.
Here’s the rest of the story…

The real quote comes from a speech Kael delivered at the Modern Language Association, on Dec. 28, 1972, as cited by the New York Times (Via Wikipedia):
“I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them.”
Rather than showing out-of-touch insularity on Kael’s part, the quote actually shows Kael is perfectly aware of that insularity and is in fact making light of it. It also shows she’s perfectly aware that there are people out there in the world who don’t share her views, as if she hadn’t yet gleaned that when she was 53 years old in 1972. Or for that matter in the previous election, which was also won by Nixon.

    Capitalism works. Here is proof.
    https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/employers-struggle-to-fill-jobs-paying-75000-a-year-with-benefits-pension
“Employers in southern Florida are having a difficult time finding enough skilled labor to fill the influx of construction jobs in the area.
Local contractors are trying to fill up positions that don’t require a college degree and can offer salaries starting at $75,000 a year with full benefits and a pension.”
Show me something like that when Proggys were running things.
The news today is we are at, or NEAR zero unemployment.
And the LIBS are stumping to get elected on returning us to welfare and unemployment.

re SteveF 830am – Montes’ citation of ‘How to Create a Socialist State’ was not an Alinsky book, but a set of rules that are attributed to him, since they tie with his teachings in his Rules for Radicals (here and elsewhere we italicize book titles). For obvious reasons the Left has denied that Alinsky ever promoted such sentiments. But the Democrats’ public policies, especially as they affect minorities and the poor, have been fashioned as if to follow Rule#2. Hence the the debate continues.

I know it was not a book title George, because this lying meme comes around every few months, regurgitated by people too lazy to do background research and whose views are polluted by ideology.
The list and views attributed to Saul Alinsky in ‘How To Create a Socialist State’ are not his…he never wrote them…in most cases he did not support anything near what is attributed to him…and repeating them is nothing but pure propaganda.
I put this on the ‘standard right-wing batshit crazy lying propagandist bullshit’ list along with:
    “The Nazis were Socialists”
    “Barack Obama is a Muslim”
“There is a Globalist World Conspiracy”
“Agenda 21 is a Globalist Conspiracy”
“There was a global warming pause”
“Hillary is a child molester” and
    my favorite here
    “The Great Divide.”
But that’s OK, I EXPECT you to repeat nonsense, conspiracy theories, inaccurate information, and propoganda….it is your nature.

,,,by the rabid right’s lights Alinsky is only a tool of the lefties.
That is like saying Sun Tzu’s ‘’’Art of War’’’ is only used by one particular group
Invoking ‘’’Alinsky’’’ is a total right wing dog whistle!!!
‘’’The closest analog (in form, if not in content) to the above-reproduced list of “How to create a social state” to be found in the writings of Saul Alinsky is the following list of “power tactics” Alinsky outlined in his 1971 book Rules for Radicals. Note that Alinsky’s list is devoted solely to tactics (i.e., methods for accomplishing goals) and does not specify any particular targets of those tactics (e.g., health care, religion, gun control)’’’

stevef 1049am – Well, you’re getting a bit better – you got one out of six right, and I don’t know what your point is in including the Great Divide (do you?). But the real question always comes up after one of your revealing dumps on RR – why do you ever bother yourself to come here and debate issues with people whose nature it is to “repeat nonsense, conspiracy theories, inaccurate information, and propoganda(sic)”? Since, as you and yours claim, RR is a troglodyte site that no one reads, what value do you derive out of your vituperations here?

Born in 1909, Alinsky was a left-wing activist with a streak of ruthless political realism. After studying criminology at the University of Chicago, he went into union organizing, and found it too tame. His “approach to social justice,” in the words of the Washington Post, would come to rely instead on “generating conflict to mobilize the dispossessed.”

Less flattening piece. The mob influence.
Alinsky boasted about his close alliance with Frank Nitti, Al Capone’s second in command in the Chicago Mob during the 1930s. Al Capone’s Mob were domestic terrorists, and not for any noble cause either. They poisoned the Chicago politics of their era. Alinsky’s close alliance with Frank Nitti tells us something crucially important today. Alinsky was also a lifelong ally of the Stalin-controlled Communist Party, at a time when Stalin was known to have murdered tens of millions of people. He was proud of building a bridge between organized crime and the power hungry Left. That tacit alliance may continue today.
    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2008/09/barack_obama_and_alinskys_rule.html#ixzz5QZi1oC1N
Teaching hatred for the normal majority is the key to power for radicals. But Alinsky taught that you can’t easily hate millions of people. To do that effectively you need a one-person scapegoat to focus all your hatred on. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” That is the politics of personal destruction, and it doesn’t matter if the target is black like Clarence Thomas, or a woman like Sarah Palin, or a severely wounded war veteran like John McCain.
That is why Obama is now instructing his followers to “get in their faces” of those Americans who are not down for his cause. Obama acts like a nice guy, but he is a political warmonger. He’s been very clear about that: “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” That’s the language of gang war.
Today we can see the Left’s rage reaction to John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin. The New York Sun quoted one feminist saying “All of my women friends, a week ago Monday, were on the verge of throwing themselves out windows …People were flipping out. … Every woman I know was in high hysteria over this. Everyone was just beside themselves with terror that this woman could be our president — our potential next president.”
The “comedienne” Sandra Bernhard suggested that Sarah Palin would be “gang-raped by blacks in Manhattan” if she dared to go there.
A British Leftist writing for Pravda (!) called “Sarah Palin – The Devil in disguise…
Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas … cheap little guttersnipe … suppose you shut up … you pith-headed little bimbo from the back of beyond … So next time suppose you keep your mouth shut and while you’re at it, make sure the members of your family keep their legs shut too. … ”
That warlike rage has been systematically whipped up over decades by the Left. That’s what college “Women’s Studies” does, just as “Black Studies” is deliberately designed to whip up black rage and victimhood. Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis is a case in point.

    A contrary opinion to Steve’s Sept. 8, 10:49 am
“I put this on the ‘standard right-wing batshit crazy lying propagandist bullshit’ list along with:
    The Nazis were Socialists”
“In the long run, to paraphrase the famous economist John Maynard Keynes, all these academics died, and no one remembers them. The more vehemently the left, particularly academics, argue their dissociation with the Nazis, the more it becomes clear they protest “too much.” Indeed, the failure here is as much one of academic prejudice as any willful wish to avoid truth.”
