[Ideology – n. A structured and communicable belief system that in its best expression is composed of tenets defendable by and malleable to reason. Ideologue – a person who is willing to communicate his ideology.  A more dubious definition of an ideologue is β€œa person who zealously advocates an ideology”.  The adverb 'zealously' denotes doing something in an "ardent, devoted, or diligent manner".  Hence, I confess again that I am an ideologue.  But then what does one call a person who advocates an ideology in a non-zealous manner?  gjr]

A new kind of reeducation from socialist puppet to forward edge of the battlefield Country shedding its old east block identity, now learning our way of war.
The squadron arrived at Turzii in June and will depart in September. Until then, its members are flying in Romanian airspace with Romanian pilots, working base security and logistics together, and even hanging out for a friendly game of soccer.
Although intercepts between Russia and NATO are a hot, attention-grabbing topic in news stories, there has been a β€œsignificant reduction” in number over the past few years, said Gen. Tod Wolters, commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa.
β€œThat’s been over a pretty long period, and what we’ve seen for about the last year and a half is a leveling out of those intercepts,” he said in an interview earlier this month. β€œWhat we have seen is that the percentage of unsafe intercepts is very, very low. And from a trending perspective, that is trending in a direction that is demonstrating that deterrence has value.”
β€œWe are ready to go. As soon as the combatant commander asks for us, we will assume that posture. We are ready and waiting,” he said. β€œBut we have not been asked.”
A high-alert mission like air policing would be much different than the TSP.
When pilots scramble to their jets for takeoff, they may only know which direction to head and what altitude to fly β€” not what the β€œtarget of interest” is or where it is located.
β€œThat takes a lot of training and a lot of practice for the communication and coordination between the command-and-control agencies and us, about how we’re going to transmit that information back and forth so we know what we’re going to intercept and what information they’re looking for from us,” Jacob said.
Although air policing is a peacetime effort, the fighter jets used for the mission are β€œhot cocked”— configured to be ready to launch as quickly as possible and equipped with live ammunition so that they can be able to respond if airspace is violated and they are attacked, he said.

And some wonder why “affordable” housing ain’t affordable.
    https://www.sfgate.com/technology/business-insider/article/A-startup-is-building-125-000-backyard-granny-13111880.php
“Featuring one bedroom and one bathroom, the 448-square-foot homes are designed for backyards.
The homes cost $125,000 to buy, or up to $1,500 to rent, Patrick Quinton, Dweller’s CEO, told Business Insider. ”
My guess, is most of the cost is city, county, and state fees and permits.
There is a small “affordable” house in Grass Valley I saw working on a job. Tucked away in a driveway built for two cars. I inquired. The owners told me the paid a little more than 100 grand to have it built. It looks just a little better than a tool shed.
Sorry folks, that cost for that little does not rise to the title of “affordable”.

Crap! Can’t be more than 8K in materials tops (and I’m being generous). 3k for a simple foundation. Another 5K for water, sewer, and electrical.
And they want 125K for the thing?!?! Your right….gotta be for the bureaucrats!
Somewhere a mafia construction goon is blushing!

Chuck Schumer has gone fully semiautomatic over guns a’gin.

Did you know a fully semiautomatic rifle or pistol can shoot six bullets nearly as fast as a circa 1900 police revolver can?
Fully semiautomatic. Personally, I expect the Senator knows it’s a BS term; he knows how language works. He knows how to confuse voters.

Has anyone informed Chuck E. “cheese” Schmucker what and idiot he made of himself? Did he fire his gripe writer?

‘Affordable housing’ is a bureaucratic term of art – government-mandated expensive houses made affordable to favored classes through government subsidies. Don’t confuse this with ‘low cost housing’ which is market driven, however, the markets may also be mangled by government to make a low cost housing unit illegal to build. We must never forget that today whenever you encounter a problem in society, government is guilty until proven innocent – bank on it.

What’s the SQ. footage of the average cargo container?
Oh… That’s already been thought of. TOO expensive to convert.

    https://www.sfgate.com/nation/article/psychic-mountain-lion-feline-eye-blinking-oregon-13113658.php
“An Oregon woman’s tale of a close encounter with a mountain lion β€” a species she described as “extremely psychic” β€” went viral this week on social media after it was shared earlier in the month.
The woman, Lauren Taylor, claims she used telepathy, energy fields and “feline speak eye-blinking” to coax the mountain lion into leaving her home after she found the animal behind her couch, where she allegedly napped for over six hours.

Walt 1145am – Apparently cargo container homes are a very mature enterprise. The outside dims of a 40-footer are 40x8x9 with inside dims a few inches less. But googling ‘cargo container homes’ gives you a snootful of info about the entire subject.
