Intellectual ostracism – the refusal to engage with a person or people who cannot rise to minimum standards of rationality. (Stefan Molyneux in The Art of the Argument – Western Civilization’s Last Stand, 2017)

George Rebane

Dems’ final solution for ‘immigration’.  Given our inundation of illegal aliens from the south, the Dems may yet have the best final solution for stopping it.  Just proceed with the unbridled adoption of their welfare, regulatory, and tax policies into the US economy.  The resulting impact on America’s common weal – Venezuela del Norte – oughta make them Latinos think twice before coming north.

Our lamestream-reported US income inequality at 11-15% is entirely bull pucky.  When over $1T in annual transfer payments and tax policy numbers are figured in, “only 2% of today’s population lives in poverty”.  This is lower than many western developed countries.  But the reported high numbers are a necessary part of the Left’s victimhood narrative to maintain the plantation.  (more here)

The EU’s socialist market mangling bureaucrats are at it again.  “It has only been about a month since European regulators dropped a bomb on the internet with the rollout of its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which imposed major costs on web platforms of all sizes and strengthened the market position of tech titans. … Now, the EU is turning its eye to copyright infringements online, and its proposed rules would be similarly damaging to the internet. The motivations for these new rules are hard to discern, and the extent of the collateral damage is hard to predict.”  This is part of America’s guaranteed future under Democrats. (more here)

    One can only hope!
Let me repeat that, so it can sink in: Maxine Waters could be the Democratic nominee for president in 2020.
Ok, let me blow into a breathalyzer, take a drug test and get psychologically evaluated before I say it a third time: Maxine Waters could be the Democratic nominee for president in 2020.
How is it possible that a radical congresswoman, who was just called “un-American” by the leadership of her own party for encouraging viral confrontations with Trump administration officials, could win the presidential nomination of a major American political party?
It’s easy. Mad Max is the only one dancing to the beat of the “Resistance,” and her album is about to go platinum.

If the po’ ol’ putin party parrot is looking for putin cuddlers he should start here –
Just weeks after stepping down after losing an election in the fall of 2005, Schroeder became chairman of the shareholders’ committee of Nord Stream AG, a consortium led by the Russian state-owned Gazprom, building the pipeline.
The announcement sparked charges of conflict of interest and unethical behavior in German political circles – and prompted the late U.S. Senator Tom Lantos to label him a “political prostitute.”

Dr. R, It could well have the exact opposite effect, pushing independents, dem labor voters and moderates into voting republican. Open boarders, amnesty and socialism poll very poorly with those demographics. Add those to the R base and Trumps rise with the Hispanic community and that really could be a red tide trigger. Bat shit crazy will play well in SF, LA, NY, Seattle, Oakland and the other usual suspects wont fly in fly over country. Can we say electoral college? We know shrillary can.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Thursday the numbers have improved, and he now thinks Republicans will keep control of the House in this year’s elections
The Wisconsin Republican, who is retiring at the end of this year, said the GOP has checked off the items it needed on its to-do list, and that’s left the party in much better shape.
“I was not confident in 2017. I’m confident now based on all the numbers we’ve seen,” he said at the Economic Club of Washington.
Key to the change, he said, was the GOP’s ability to pass a major tax overhaul in December.
Mr. Ryan said that bill is actually doing better than they’d expected in terms of the budget, where scorekeepers had predicted massive deficits.
“The growth is coming in better and faster,” Mr. Ryan said, pointing to April’s monthly tax intake, which was the highest in the nation’s history.

Income inequality? Sorry that is a contrived socialist meme that I have never bought into. If people want more income, work more. Invest more. Get off your ass and do something. But what do the commies do? They sow chaos and convince the idiots that have only one microwave oven that they are being denied the second one by some rich guy. Anyway we should stop using the left’s terms and defeat them at every opportunity.

    Not a monolith –
A coalition of black pastors held a press conference on Thursday at the National Press Club to push House Speaker Paul Ryan to censure Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) for encouraging people to confront members of President Donald Trump’s administration.
The coalition is a network of some 800 pastors from across the country representing two million African Americans in their congregations.
“Her call to extremism based on where another American citizen works or with whom they associate must be sternly addressed by Speaker Ryan,” Star Parker, president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) said at the press conference. “An apology is not enough.”

As if the socialist are listening to these guys –
A group of moderate Democratic lawmakers sounded the alarm Thursday over the party’s shift to the left, saying the embrace of ultra-liberal policies could endanger their efforts to capture Congress in the November midterm elections and the White House in 2020.
“The next two years is just a race to offer increasingly unrealistic proposals, to rally just those who are already with us,” Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware, told a gathering of like-minded centrists at a strategy session in Washington. But with a far-left agenda, Coons warned, “it’ll be difficult for us to make a credible case that we should be allowed to govern again and easier and easier to mock and marginalize us.”

DonB 1003pm – this is a good comparison to asses the timbre of our leftwingers. From their strident comments, they clearly are not in the category of moderate Democrats. However, there is nothing we should do to encourage them to temper their wrath, for the more they convince their brethren to similarly emote their convictions, the better off will be the country in November.

As analysts point out, if Democrats vote against the proposal and kill it, it undermines their word. If they earn enough “yes” votes, Republicans could turn the issue and tie all Democrats to the crisis at the border.

Thanks. I have never watched much of Edward Klein previously, but it answered questions I had concerning his sources and their reliability. Let them tell you how important they are, lol.
Interesting that HRC is back in the news. Yes, I remember well the questions circulating around about naming one accomplishment she had done after 8 years in the Senate and four years as Sec of State. But, the real question the video left me with again, is what does Hillary stand for? Klein referenced her having no morals, per sources in the Obama White House. During the Lewinsky Affair pundits said Bill Clinton was amoral, but no morals takes My Gal to a different level.
She certainly has the victimhood mentality and preaches it well. To bring this conversation around to a relative topic of Ruminations, “But the reported high numbers are a necessary part of the Left’s victimhood narrative to maintain the plantation.”

Re: Dems final solution to immigration.
Been pondering immigration as a Democrat agenda. The immigrants from India are not a reliable voting block, neither are the Chinese. Immigrants that have been here for a generation or two usually no longer become a reliable voting block for the party of America is Bad. The Italians, the Irish, the Catholics, the Germans (the largest ethnic group in America)….all, once they have established roots, have gone their own ways and not in lock step. The real melting pot. Even Mexican-Americans voted 30% for Trump.
Thus, one (moi) must conclude is the “America is Not Exceptional” Democrat Party must seek out and bring in new immigrants that are fresh off the boat, so to speak. Ones with no ties to America. The new wave of unemployed, unskilled, uneducated, dependent class of immigrants (Central Americans, Somalis, Haitians) are the reliable voting block the Dems must bring in to refresh their appeal and necessary for their survival. The assimilated immigrants (legal immigrants) do not bode well for a single party takeover of America, land of the free and home of the brave.
The single party State of CA is a good example. What, something like 117 languages are spoken in LA’s public school system…or was that 116 foreign languages that are the students’ primary language.
Interesting to note concerning the recent hullabaloo over separating children from illegal and criminal parents is a dilemma for HHS. Before the reunion can happen, HHS asks how will the parent support the child in their custody. Same thing CPS would ask here in Nevada County concerning the child’s welfare. The answer is: welfare! The taxpayers! The dependent class!
Without the dependent class and the mantra of victimization drilled into the heads of every single Democrat voter, the Leftinistas no broad base.

George 9:34 — Try investigating issues around global income inequality and the problems that entails and see what you think. Corporate monopoly capitalism, not to be confused with mom and pop capitalism or cooperative capitalism (where companies are owned by the people who work there rather than investors) tends to channel wealth upward with less than a trickle down. The rich do get richer and the rest get poorer ore tread water at best. A quick look at income statistics and buying power over the last few decades is testimony to that. An equitable economic model should benefit everyone not just the investor class as it mostly does now. The current incarnation of the Republican Party strongly panders to and favors the investor class. In the long run, that is not sustainable. There will be no one left who can afford to buy the overpriced imported goods sold in the marketplace. The corporatization of American business has not been good for the average American. Ask anybody who used to own a drugstore or a grocery store or a sporting goods store or any number of formerly locally owned businesses run out of town by conglomerates.

RobertC 137pm – Amazing Mr Cross, directly out of the Socialist International Playbook. While you look at the half-empty glass of capitalism, I and mine celebrate the half-full version by understanding the source of wealth for the world’s poorest who, before capitalism over the last two centuries, had a fraction of what they have now, and much shorter time in which to enjoy that. American capitalism is neither the cause of remaining poverty in the world, nor responsible for its eradication (although we are doing much to achieve that). However, Americans like you are totally free to reach into your own pockets to remedy the matter, as long as you don’t reach into the pockets of me and mine. But, as always, that is really what all you wealth-sucking collectivists always have in mind.
Before you start redistributing wealth you have not created, I would recommend that you put your nuts on the line and start a business or two, and feel the bottom of your own savings account as you sign the front side of a paycheck.
