[More school killings, this time with a revolver and a shotgun – no semi-autos in sight, yet the killings continue. When do we come to a national conclusion that it is the shooters we should do better at identifying and stopping, rather than taking guns from law abiding citizens? gjr]

Good last post of yours from Sandbox 5/10/2018. If makes me wonder if our local Lefties have any idea where their party is taking them. The R’s have divisions, but the split on the Left is deeper and wider, being ripped asunder.
We are all isolated up here in the historic Leave it to Beaver Gold Country. I wonder if the Lefties have a clue what our State and country will look like in 15 years if they are left to their own devices, unchecked. A trip to the urban centers is a foretaste of what is to come.
My guess is they just don’t see it or choose not to believe the handwriting on the Wall. There is a reason many that moved up here (from both sides of the aisle) are here simply because of what used to be known as “white flight”. Escapees. Escapees from crime, congestion, and rot.

Trump wants to double shipping costs for Amazon, even though the USPS says it is Amazon that keeps the USPS afloat.
Bill Gates had to sit Trump down TWICE to tell him the difference between HIV and HPV and Trump STILL claims they are the same thing!
Campbell’s soup company is frantic because the cost of cans doubled after Trump announced steel and aluminum tariffs..
Brief glimpses why so many of Trump’s endeavors failed. In a nutshell, he doesn’t do his homework nor will he listen to advice.

JonnieBoy, please stop the propaganda. America is cooking right along. The lowest unemployment rate in my lifetime and now we see all those millions getting pay raises bonuses. You liberals are the biggest sourpuss pussys I have ever seen. And if a tariff is tacked on a Cambell soup can of 25% it is unlikely the cost is doubled. Your math skills suck. These tariffs are a bargaining tool and it seems to be working. Amazon needs to pay the full freight on postage and stop being subsidized by the poor of America.

From an article quoting some Campbell’s execs:
‘Anthony DiSilvestro, the chief financial officer at Campbell, said a lot of the company’s rising costs will be “driven by the impact of anticipated tariffs.”
“We expect double-digit increases on steel and aluminum,” said DiSilvestro, adding that the company anticipates inflation to drive prices for wheat and vegetables and other goods as well.’
Maybe ‘double digit’ means the same as ‘doubling’
This is from the Commerce Secretary:
“In a can of Campbell’s Soup, there are about 2.6 pennies worth of steel. So if that goes up by 25 percent, that’s about six-tenths of 1 cent on the price on a can of Campbell’s soup,”
I wouldn’t blame Mr. Jon. He probably just scans the Dailykos every morning and they are the ones who got it wrong. Most ‘news’ sites on the web just quote some original and fairly sketchy source, so the BS propagates pretty quickly.

The meeting between Gates and Trump at Trump Tower was in December 2016, in the flurry after the election, before the inauguration. It seems Trump wasn’t familiar with HPV and wasn’t bashful about it.

USPS, aka, snail mail announced another 550 million dollar loss…for just the first quarter of this year already!
The post office is losing a fortune, but Trump is wrong to blame Amazon. The Postal Service reported a net loss of $2.7 billion for 2017. It has lost $65.1 billion since 2007. Much of the red ink is attributed to a 2006 law mandating that USPS pre-fund future retirees’ health benefits.
At least the taxpayers won’t be holding the bag for their unfunded liabilities, unlike our friggin county and state. I am sooo glad that County CEO is gone. FOAD to him

The friggin county and state won’t hold the bag forever. The money isn’t there and the people will not stand for the confiscatory property taxes for declining services to pay for retirement benefits that average folk (not public employee union members) can only dream of.

Amazon reacts to Seattle’s head tax:
“We are disappointed by today’s city council decision to introduce a tax on jobs. While we have resumed construction planning for Block 18, we remain very apprehensive about the future created by the council’s hostile approach and rhetoric toward larger businesses, which forces us to question our growth here. City of Seattle revenues have grown dramatically from $2.8 billion in 2010 to $4.2 billion in 2017, and they will be even higher in 2018. This revenue increase far outpaces the Seattle population increase over the same time period. The city does not have a revenue problem — it has a spending efficiency problem. We are highly uncertain whether the city council’s anti-business positions or its spending inefficiency will change for the better.”
Starbucks reacts to Seattle’s head tax.
“This City continues to spend without reforming and fail without accountability, while ignoring the plight of hundreds of children sleeping outside. If they cannot provide a warm meal and safe bed to a five year-old child, no one believes they will be able to make housing affordable or address opiate addiction. This City pays more attention to the desires of the owners of illegally parked RVs than families seeking emergency shelter.”

Lol. Worth repeating: “ if they cannot provide a warm meal and safe bed to a five year-old child, no one believes they will be able to make housing affordable or address opiate addiction.”
Reminds me of the time Steve Jobs was approached by the city to build a community rec center. Jobs, the biggest tax payer to Cupertino, replied that is why I pay you taxes. If you want a community center, you build it.
Related:
When Steve Jobs appeared before the city of Cupertino to pitch Apple’s new HQ, one particular exchange with the city council caught our attention.
Councilwoman Kris Wang asked, “Do we get free wifi or something like that?”
The audience laughed at her question, and Jobs responded with, “See, I’m a simpleton, and I’ve always had this view that we pay taxes and the city should do those things. That’s why we pay taxes. Now, if we can get out of paying taxes, I’ll be glad to put up wifi.”
She then joked that maybe the city could use its tax revenue to buy everyone an iPad, and then Apple would give them free wifi.
Jobs then hinted that maybe he should just take Apple to Mountain View if she was unhappy.

Where is Obama? One would think that Obama would clear up some questions for us all since he presided over the Deep State at the time of the biggest scandal in our nation’s history.
“Think of the 2016 Trump-Russia narrative as two parallel strands—one politics, one law enforcement. The political side involves the actions of Fusion GPS, the Hillary Clinton campaign and Obama officials—all of whom were focused on destroying Donald Trump. The law-enforcement strand involves the FBI—and what methods and evidence it used in its Trump investigation. At some point these strands intersected—and one crucial question is how early that happened.” WSJ

The city attorney alleged the operators of the club have been selling cannabis – and allowing it to be consumed on-site during events – without a city permit since at least March, causing a neighborhood nuisance.

April, April 2016 you say?
“…….a key if overlooked moment detailed in the House Intelligence Committee’s recent Russia report. In “late spring” of 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey briefed White House “National Security Council Principals” that the FBI had counterintelligence concerns about the Trump campaign. Carter Page was announced as a campaign adviser on March 21, and Paul Manafort joined the campaign March 29. The briefing likely referenced both men, since both had previously been on the radar of law enforcement. But here’s what matters: With this briefing, Mr. Comey officially notified senior political operators on Team Obama that the bureau had eyes on Donald Trump and Russia. Imagine what might be done in these partisan times with such explosive information.
And what do you know? Sometime in April, the law firm Perkins Coie (on behalf the Clinton campaign) hired Fusion GPS, and Fusion turned its attention to Trump-Russia connections. The job of any good swamp operator is to gin up a fatal October surprise for the opposition candidate. And what could be more devastating than to paint a picture of Trump-Russia collusion that would provoke a full-fledged FBI investigation?
We already know of at least one way Fusion went about that project, with wild success. It hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile that infamous dossier. In July, Mr. Steele wrote a memo that leveled spectacular conspiracy theories against two particular Trump campaign members—Messrs. Manafort and Page. For an FBI that already had suspicions about the duo, those allegations might prove huge—right? That is, if the FBI were to ever see them. Though, lucky for Mrs. Clinton, July is when the Fusion team decided it was a matter of urgent national security for Mr. Steele to play off his credentials and to take this political opposition research to the FBI”
Well, well, well. The biggest difference between Hillary and Vladdy is when Putin rigs an election, he always wins it. At least we know it was Sally “Logan Act” Yates that signed the first warrant.

Imagine, 200,000 fewer folks paying into California public employee unions. Maybe more, maybe less. I’d bet more but that could well be wishful thinking as I believe it’s collective bargaining for pay and benefits that has driven California to be the one party state it has become.

GeorgeB, I support Travis Allen. Cox is 62 and of our age group. I want to see younger men and women getting elected. Conservatives of course. Anyway, endorsements were never a thing I put a mind too. My endorsements were the people that voted for me.

That’s right Boardman, you finally figured it out. If anyone is stuck it is you, not me. You are just an old white cracker who thinks people care what you think. I know people don’t. And we all have opinions and right now the man I voted for is President and the one you voted for will be a felon.

Mirror, mirror on the wall . . .
At least Mr. Boardman knows how construct a proper sentence. He can even spell.

Really jonboy? Then why would Trump be taking spelln’ lessons “for” me? I see your skills are sorely lacking as much as Boardman’s.
(Yup, it really is a bugger to screw up deluxe when trying to stick it to someone else,, the pull the exact same boner your accusing the other of. Great job.
Seen Hawaii lately there “jon”? A volcano just do’n what a volcano does. Nothing to see there jonboy,,, right? Thousand of acres buried, dozens of homes gone, roads repaved, and a brand new ocean entry!
And I bet you didn’t take my advice to buy land there on the cheap.
