[We kinda skipped over the initiative to let California's illegal aliens hold seats on state boards and commissions. And none of the Left have answered the concern about what will become of America if everyone who presents themselves at our border, and declares that their own country is not fit to live in, is granted asylum. And this especially since they will be standing in either Canada or Mexico, neither of which threatens them harm. The Left's position is understandable – 'who cares, let 'em in because that will speed up the fundamental transformation of America.' Did you note that none of the Dem governor candidates would even consider this in their promotion of open borders? gjr]

Ahhhh fresh kitty litter –
Lieberman also weighed in on how the Iran decision will play out in the Trump administration’s negotiations with North Korea, as some critics are claiming that pulling out of the Iran deal will threaten these negotiations.
“I think it’s totally the opposite,” Lieberman said. “I think with what the president has said to Iran is also a message to North Korea, which is, ‘Unless you really denuclearize the Korean Peninsula — which is what we wanted the Iranians to do, or should have wanted them to do, what President Trump wants them to do — then there’s not going to be an agreement between the U.S., North Korea, and South Korea.’”
Lieberman said he thinks Trump’s decision could also turn out to cause a significant shift in geopolitics.
“I think we’re in a position to create some real stability and reduce the threat level both in Asia and in the Middle East, and that’s a tremendous achievement,” Lieberman said.

Ir1) Iran no deal. You just had to know last week that the Iranians would have to do something to appease the Mullahs for losing a good thang. Attack on Israel is a no brainer, which was just tossing the Mullahs a bone and the first fruits of what would have been the real harvest, nuke Israel.
Obama was giving Iran a straight path through Iraq and Syria to Israel. Look, every single Friday after the services in the mosques, they end the local worship with the burning of the American flag (and the usual “Death to the Great Satan” chants, every Friday evening across Iran. They even have a friggin national holiday once each year of chanting Death to America and burning American flags. Nov. 4, a frigid national holiday. Let that sink in. And let this also sink in. Persia’s name got changed to Iran. Iran translated means “Aryan”. Death to Israel.
And, yes Don, everything Trump, says about Iran he is talking to Russia. And everything Trump, says about lit-o-rocketman, he is looking in the eyes of both China and Iran.
2). Daily quotes….
For the record: “Donald Trump just blew up the deal Obama made that served Iran’s interest and, by extension, Russia’s interests. Trump’s blow was against Russia’s geopolitical goals in the Middle East. Yet the left continues to promote the delusion that Trump is ‘soft’ on Russia.” —Gary Bauer
Without double standards, leftists wouldn’t have any: “Following the 2016 election, President Obama rightly warned the Trump transition team ‘we only have one president at a time.’ It was a reminder that there can be just one person articulating American foreign policy so world leaders will have no doubt as to the United States’ intentions. Obama’s former secretary of state, John Kerry, ignored that warning and has been behaving as if he’s still in office.” —Cal Thomas
Among the manifold reasons you’re not president… “Pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal is a big mistake. It makes America less safe and less trusted. Iran is now more dangerous. … As Secretary of State, I helped negotiate the crippling international sanctions that brought Iran to the table. It would be much harder a second time, now that our credibility is shot.” —Hillary Clinton
Well, yeah, that’s the point: “Everything President Obama has done, this president wants to undo.” —Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA
And last… “If you believe that Gina Haspel should be barred from leading the CIA because she followed protocol in the early 2000s, please name the person who worked at the CIA at that time who shouldn’t be barred.” —Ben Shapiro

I see your truth hand @ 719 and lay down a nice face in your card –
Iran surely hoped that European leaders, who want to save the deal, would blame Israel (and Trump) for Iran’s attack. Nope: Britain, France and Germany all backed Israel and condemned Iran’s strike. Even Russia, which sides with Tehran in defending Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, refrained from bashing Israel.

Just out…This Trump team is a real classy outfit, mocking a dying man.
“Cindy McCain, wife of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), hit back at reports that a White House official mocked her husband’s health status during a Thursday meeting about CIA director nominee Gina Haspel.
According to multiple news outlets, White House aide Kelly Sadler responded to McCain’s opposition to Haspel’s nomination with the comment, “He’s dying anyway.”
The “joke… fell flat,” a source told CNN’s Jim Acosta.”

The Democrats’ hopes for a “blue wave” to sweep through the midterm elections in November appears to be fading. For one thing, those in Sen. Bernard Sanders’ corner vow that a “progressive tsunami” is on its way. Axios senior analyst Mike Allen, meanwhile, predicts that a new “Clinton wave” is about to surface, propelled by residual Democratic enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton. A red wave, however, is building. CNN has some significant numbers.
“The Democrats’ advantage in the generic ballot dipped from 16 points in February to six points in March to just three points now. The party’s advantage has waned among enthusiastic voters as Republican enthusiasm has grown,” reports Jennifer Agiesta, CNN’s polling director.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/may/9/inside-the-beltway-a-red-wave-threatens-the-blue-w/
Yes, I constantly hear a bunch of polls about different issues about Trump, the economy, issues, Dems, etc. Don’t care what they say (the Right is always behind), but seems like across the board things have moved up about 6 points since February on a wide variety of political pollings. It’s the trend line I care about. Thus, when I told the Popinjay that 42% was grrrreat at the time, “that’s all we need”, he could not believe it and joyfully used my words as Exhibit #1 for unheard stark raving craziness. Go ahead and laugh. I would have been happy with 39-41% 3 weeks ago, all things considering. It’s all about the trend line….this far out.
When I used to bet on the ponies, I liked to throw some money on the horse that always was in the dust going down the back stretch always moved up to within striking distance coming down the home stretch, with her nose coming out of the pack. Always looking at momentum, seeing the trend line, not the snapshot of a place in time. 🙂

Poor Paul – he’s crawled around the parking lot at Spring Street for weeks looking for a bumper sticker that he can quote here to try to hold up his end of the conversation. Failing that he gloms onto a lame joke by a minor staffer at the White House that conveys a truthful but un-PC fact about McCain. McCain BTW – used to be Adolf Hitler according to the left but has now trans-morgified into a saint by way of criticizing the new, new Hitler.
Because of what this person said, Paul tries to claim that it reflects on the entire ‘Trump team’.
Will Paul use this principle when it might then reflect on some one he likes?
Of course not.
But we’ll go easy on Paul – he’s having a hard time right now with nothing in his fridge but dead crow to eat.
Hint for Paul: Old Crow makes the dead crow go down a lot easier.

Let’s pull back the covers and see what’s underneath.
Seattle’s budget strains, however, are more than just the result of its growing economy and homeless problem. Left unsaid, but lurking in the fiscal background, is the city’s deep public-pension problem. Seattle has one of the worst-funded municipal pension systems of any major city, and its annual costs have been rising rapidly—from $40 million to $108 million over the last 10 years. Over the next decade, the city projects that it will have to dedicate about $850 million toward paying off the pension system’s debt—and that’s on top of nearly $600 million that it will cost the city over that same period to fund new pension credits that workers are currently earning.
It’s no accident that the proposed tax targeting Amazon would probably raise just about what Seattle will have to spend bailing out its pension system. Supporters should be honest and call it the “fixing-our-pension-mess” tax.
https://www.city-journal.org/html/fair-share-has-limits-even-seattle-15891.html
Did get a chuckle out of this line: “Last year, the city and county mulled a “homelessness” property tax that would have netted an additional $68 million annually.”
Imagine being taxed for not being homeless, lol.

Here, here. Sleeveless was in. It will be back. Summer is a’coming and June will be busting out all over. I think the worse thing someone ever said about Michelle was she has a big butt. President Obama was not happy with whoever said his wife has a “fat ass.” The record showed someone said “big butt”, not “fat ass”. Guess a man hears what he wants to hear.
Another trend…from before Apr, 17 to early May, 18. No, not the CNN trend from Feb that has viewship down 20%. They should have shown more 24/7 coverage of Michelle’s arms instead of All Stormy All the Time. Just a National trend, nothing to see here….except the trend line. But we won’t mention that. I wonder if it’s Republicans leaving the state or is it Republicans becoming independent. You can’t tell, but it’s interesting in any case.
I’m always amused at the inability of a single party state to do any better minus it’s arch-enemy than with, it’s not dissimilar to the results you see by enacting laws that neighboring states don’t have but with very little to show for it. Maybe the state flag should be a bear with the phrase, ‘Go Figure’.
The real story going forward, besides the meltdown of public pensions and the buildup of poop on the sidewalks, will be the schism of the Democratic party in California. There’s a thing that Edward Luttwak calls the paradoxical logic of strategy at work here. I would guess that the success of the Democrats will result in their failure as a single bloc of voters will find reasons to differ.
So what are the new parties to be? One answer might be a Hispanic Democratic Party and an everyone else Democratic Party. That first group will tend to act in a self-interested (and pretty easy to predict) manner, the second as a form of self defense, at least in terms of fighting over all the money.
Any other guesses?

Lest we forget, it’s best to ease up on the throttle on our always amusing Popinjay. It is, afterall, a hate crime to be mean to the mentally disabled. Glad no one here has crossed the line into hate. Unless it’s liberal style hate, then it’s not hate. Still, we should continue to show forbearance to our little mentally challenged friend.
Hmmm. From the Huff-n-Puff Post. It’s not fair! Well, at least they put more facts in the piece than usual. A good sign r things to come or an anomaly?

“Every time [Democrats] deny the economy is starting to turn or get better for certain parts of the population, they also hurt themselves,” says party strategist Hank Sheinkopf. “They appear to be cheering on bad news.”
And Democrats could face a similar challenge on recent news about Trump’s plans to meet North Korean leader Kim Jung Un, seen as entirely separate issue but nevertheless one that relates to overall feelings of security. While success on that front is hypothetical at this point, opponents of the president are already trying to balance skepticism and applauding signs of progress. A CNN poll released this week, for example, found that 77 percent of Americans approve of the meeting.
That same survey found that 52 percent of voters approve of Trump’s handling of the economy, up from 48 percent in March. And 57 percent of voters said things overall are going well, up from 49 percent registered in the last poll on that question in February. Notably, 84 percent cited the economy an either extremely or very important factor in how they will vote in November, up from 74 percent

“Fuck the NRA,” Pat Davis, who’s running for Congress in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District, said in the ad. “Their pro-gun policies have resulted in dead children, dead mothers and dead fathers. I’m Pat Davis and I approve this message because if Congress won’t change our gun laws, we’re changing Congress.”

NEWT GINGRICH: I share your sense of amazement! What a couple of days! The president tweeted out today they are going to meet in Singapore. Who could have predicted a year ago that we would come this far down the road this fast? As the president keeps saying, the deal is not done and his goal is the same s always, a denuclearized North Korea, and he’s going to stay focused on getting that done.
Between his courage in standing up against all of our allies on Iran, the support they gave Israel today when the Iranians fired 20 missiles at Israel and Israelis responded by bombing sites in Syria, the degree to which they are moving things. The classic moment this week is the New York Times wondering where Secretary of State Pompeo is and why is he missing when the president announced the Iran deal? He was missing because he was meeting with Kim Jong Un getting three Americans released and setting the stage for a historic meeting in Singapore, but even for the New York Times, there might be space here for an apology.
There are a lot of parallels here between Reagan’s pleasant firmness and the dismantling of the Soviet Empire. I think it is very telling and very smart, like you I saw the arrival. The president’s comments took the right tone, telling Korea if you do the right things, we’ll be nice to you…It also speaks very well of Secretary of State Pompeo that he could get this much done this quickly.

Now its getting interesting –
Grassley notes in the letter that his committee requested in February 2017 a transcript of the intercepted telephone call between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that began the sequence of events that led to Flynn pleading guilty to making false statements to the FBI in December. Flynn was investigated on the theory that his communication with Kislyak prior to President Donald Trump formally taking office violated the Logan Act, which forbids outside interference with U.S. foreign policy.
The Logan Act subsequently returned to its traditional status as an archaic law that is never actually enforced, and as Grassley noted, the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn did not think he made false statements in any case. To complete the absurdity of the situation, Grassley pointed out that with Flynn’s plea “the investigation appears concluded,” but the Justice Department still refuses to provide the transcripts requested by Senate Judiciary, “citing an ongoing criminal investigation.”

We know how this is going to end when the snowflakes get overtaken by the junkies –
Starbucks has amended its toilet policy to allow anyone to use the facilities – whether or not they purchase something – following a row over the treatment of black customers.
But the move by the US coffee chain could open the door to other problems including drugs, prostitution and homelessness.
Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz announced on Thursday that the company’s toilets would be available to anyone who asked.
“We don’t want to become a public bathroom, but we’re going to make the right decision 100% of the time and give people the key,” Mr Schultz told the Atlantic Council, a think tank in Washington DC.
“We don’t want anyone at Starbucks to feel as if we are not giving access to you to the bathroom because you are ‘less than’.”
A 2013 study of New York City businesses found that 58% of store managers had seen drug use in their toilets.
Over the last year, US media have called public lavatories the new frontline of the opioid epidemic.
The city of Seattle spent $5m (£3.6m) on five self-cleaning toilets in 2004, only to close them four years later due to rampant drug use and prostitution.
One woman even told the New York Times that she used to smoke crack cocaine in the toilets but stopped because they were too “disgusting”.

More Fake Science to Keep Us Fearful
The Claim:
EMP Commission warns ‘blackout’ of electricity, food, water to last ‘year or longer,’ huge death toll
Parts of the United States would be starved of electricity, water, food, internet service and transportation for a year or longer by the smallest electromagnetic pulse attack on the electric grid, according to a newly declassified report from a federal commission.
The so-called EMP Commission report said that the threat is real, jeopardizes “modern civilization,” and would set back living conditions to those last seen in the 1800s.
And as a result of the chaos, millions would likely die, according to the report titled “Assessing the Threat from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP),” from the recently re-established Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack.

The Reality Check: No Observed EMPs
The scare mongers say that a single electromagnetic pulse from a nuclear blast would induce a voltage spike that would knock out the “grid” and all electronic equipment across huge areas, like the entire continental United States. Something like this has never happened despite thousands of nuclear blasts and it does not fit with the established science of electromagnetic induction. Isn’t this really what matters? After thousands of detonations, an “EMP” has never swept through and wiped out electrical infrastructure, whether it was close to or far from a nuclear blast. Do we really need to say more? They used to say that your head would come off your body if you travelled at a speed of 60 miles per hour. They don’t say that anymore. We can stop saying that EMPs are the boogey man that will destroy all electrical infrastructure. It’s not a valid theory anymore. It never was. It has been tried and found wanting. There have been lots of nuclear blasts. It just doesn’t happen.
