In the “we used to use cement overshoes and their ain’t no such thing as the ‘blue wall’” dept. It seems that recently fired (two days before his retirement) FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was overseeing a criminal investigation into none other than his boss Jeff Sessions concerning Sessions “lack of candor” during his confirmation hearings with regard to contact with those damn Ruskies, again. They just keep popping up all over the place.

For those of you that think Trump can fire Mueller and end the investigation here’s some sad news.
Trump Can Fire Mueller, But Not a Grand Jury
The president can’t shut down the Russia investigation, even if he gets rid of the special counsel.

Putting all politics and TDS aside, do any of you see a bigger picture in this Facebook news? Just over the horizon, AI coming, jobs lost forever, guaranteed living wage or guaranteed income, people sitting around getting fatter than today (as opposed to reading philosophy as the Pollyannas believe) and a psychological warfare going on across their scenes. Mind control, and not just politics.
Some of us grew up with the story of the Navy battle testing some virus or bad ju ju upon the then good folks of San Franscico one foggy morn. I never checked it out, just assumed it was true.
They need to test psychological warfare on the battlefield (to make the bad guys unable to or lose the willingness to fight. A FB type site would be the perfect place to do mind control and testing….for domestic and military consumption.
And there is your conspiracy theory of the day.

Have fun lefties. You pointed out it was his private sex life and none of our business – even when he was raping women.
Of course, he felt their pain.
None of this is new or news, but it’s all the left has to run with since the Russia gate deal went tits up.

I am shocked, shocked, that social media collects data on users. If you are not paying for the product, then you are the product.
“Facebook claims that its policies are clear and that the company takes its users’ privacy very seriously. Or at least it takes privacy seriously depending on who is using the data.
In 2012, Barack Obama’s campaign used Facebook to gather data on voters. Over one million people downloaded an Obama 2012 Facebook app that gave the campaign access to users and their friends, totaling upwards of 190 million people — nearly four times the Cambridge Analytica haul. Facebook, which was billing itself at the time as a resource for political candidates looking to reach voters, had no problem with this use of its users’ data. Obama was “the man,” after all. And the Obama campaign’s use of the social media giant was considered a game-changer and lauded for its ingenuity. But the Trump campaign’s use is being called conspiratorial and exploitative.”

I am rightfully schooled by the Circle of Jerks residing on this blog about my spelling and grammar errors but not a peep about our “highly intellegant” President when he sends his middle of the night tweets.
“President Trump, who frequently boasts about his intelligence, has just as frequently stumbled in spelling errors in his tweets — even about sensitive topics, such as special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of interference in the 2016 election.
On Wednesday, for example, Trump used Twitter to relay a statement from Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz about Mueller. The president’s tweet had four errors and a typo.
“‘Special Council [sic] is told to find crimes, wether [sic] crimes exist or not. I was opposed the the [sic] selection of Mueller to be Special Council [sic], I still am opposed to it. I think President Trump was right when he said there never should have been a Special Council [sic] appointed,” Trump tweeted.
The president deleted the tweet and reposted it — correcting the misspelled “whether” and double “the,” but leaving the multiple misspellings of “Council” intact.

”’Gateway project
Despite opposition from Trump, a project to build a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River could get some funding through this bill.
The Gateway project has garnered bipartisan support among many New York and New Jersey lawmakers, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and New Jersey Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, a Republican who chairs the House Appropriations Committee.
The House spending bill initially allocated $900 million for the project, according to NJ Advance Media. The spending bill removed the earmark that protected funding for the project, but a Schumer aide said it should still get significant funding.
The Gateway Project could receive as much as $540 million, the New York Post reported.
New York and New Jersey have committed to picking up half of the estimated $11 billion cost.”’

re jons 329pm snark. Yes, Killmore is a terrorist, but the net required to stop him is a very different one than that for a Muslim terrorist. How much effort and what kind of effort we put into operating each net depends on the numbers that characterize the threat (and some other factors).
Mr smith does demonstrate a very simplistic view of things here.

Amazing that Trump chose hard core Neocin John Bolton to replace McMaster as National Security advisor, his third at that position in a little over a year. As you recall Trump campaigned hard agaisnt the Bush era NeoCons even calling for Bush’s inpeachment for his lying about the reasons for war against Iraq. You can’t believe a word Trump says because he believes in nothing and just wings it from day to day. Here is his call for the impeachment of Bush and his oppositions to the policy of the Neocons of which Bolton was a chief spokesman.
“I was surprised that she didn’t do more in terms of Bush and going after Bush. It was almost — it just seemed like she was going to really look to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which, personally, I think would have been a wonderful thing.”
Blitzer: “Impeaching him?”
Trump: “Absolutely, for the war, for the war.”
Blitzer: “Because of the conduct of the war.”
Trump: “Well, he lied. He got us into the war with lies. And, I mean, look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant. And they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And, yet, Bush got us into this horrible war with lies, by lying, by saying they had weapons of mass destruction, by saying all sorts of things that turned out not to be true.”

Yeah Bolton sure was a mental giant when he led the charge into Iraq Todd. Even Trump says the war was a mistake
“Likely Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has condemned former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s decision to join the invasion of Iraq as a “disaster.”
“In an interview with Piers Morgan on British television on Tuesday, the billionaire construction magnate said Britain should never have joined forces with the U.S. in the conflict that took the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, including thousands of coalition troops.
The Iraq War “was a bad decision—maybe the worst,” he said on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. “But you folk were brought into it, I don’t know why you were allowed to be.”
He continued: “Tony Blair made a mistake. You can’t go in haphazardly. You guys got involved like we did and now look at it.”
