[The Miami bridge collapse embarrasses me as an engineer – such screw-ups are supposed to occur only in third world countries. And then we find that this was a 'shovel ready' project from the past, designed by the nearby university, that took five years of bureaucratic buffeting before being awarded to a problem-plagued construction firm. And it turns out that the Left did another number on CIA's Deputy Director Haspel nominated by Trump to be the new CIA head. They lied about her involvement in past waterboardings by the agency, which even if true, is to me and mine no reason to doubt her ability to lead that organization. gjr]

From the “what does he know that you don’t” dept. comes this from former director of the CIA John Brennen:
Brennen said that trump would take his “rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history” once “the full extent” of his “venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known,”
NO small wonder why trump is trying to shut down the investigation. My guess is that they have him for laundering Russian mob money. Just a guess.. and I also guess you have seen the Comey tweet where he responds to trump’s attacks by saying “Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.”

McCabe’s objections are less than credible, given the virtually unprecedented recommendation of career officials to fire the one-time acting FBI director. etc.”

Zero Hedge is a financial blog that aggregates news and presents editorial opinions from original and outside sources. In between the aggregated news there are economic conspiracies and general right wing biases. Zero Hedge also has a terrible record with fact checkers. Overall, this is a conspiracy based website.

At least he didn’t bring up the SPLC.
To me, the value of places like Zero Hedge is the fact that they aggregate stories. I can’t say that there are any ‘unbiased’ (whatever that means) news websites, but they all serve a purpose in pointing out interesting situations. Foreign news sites covering US domestic politics aren’t bad sometimes, but they tend to leave out the stuff that gets the Green Libertarians all het up.
I think that the real value of this whole election cycle and Presidency, besides some mild attempts at controlling the border, is that it so brutally dug out the awesome bias in big-league media outlets. It’s one thing to think that the NYT, CNN, etc. are firmly in a philosophical camp, but quite another to have it shoved in your face on a daily basis.
I wonder if there’s an official fallacy (think Godwin’s Law) based on the sliming of a news outlet rather than the news.

It looks like the Trump team were better at cyber warfare than the Hillary Google Team. We will hear a lot of liberal press whining about the Trump/Bannon/Cambridge Analytica initiative, but little or nothing about Google’s role on Hillary’s Team.
Several outside firms connected to Google also worked on the Clinton 2016 campaign. Those included Civis Analytics and The Groundwork, two companies that compiled data and polling on voters for the campaign and that were funded by Google’s Schmidt. Hillary for America spent more than $590,000 on services from The Groundwork and at least $48,000 on Civis Analytics in this campaign cycle. Clinton’s primary super PAC, Priorities USA, has spent more than $800,000 with Civis Analytics this cycle.

Wow, I wish that obeeXXX would find a different playground. It’s difficult reading posts by a (likely) 70 year old that read like a teenager’s.
A quick observation on leaked emails, the ‘Russian’ (or insider) leaks of Hillary outlining her evildoings being an ever-present example.
We are quick approaching a point where sovereign states or large companies could pull off a cyber-version of MAD. Realistically, ask yourself how much dirt Putin has on the Western elite after all these years. The Russians have (my guess) less of an Achilles Heel in this area since a)their intelligence services and military have moved back to paper communications and reports and b)their system is more tightly controlled.
So, a question. If the Russian did a full release of all the stuff they know about Western leaders, would that be considered an act of war? Seriously, just imagine the amount of dirt they have, some legal, some not.
I’d laugh my ass off if a bunch of video footage of Bill Clinton on the Lolita Express showed up on youtube.

You can make that argument, but the ruling elite would consider it something else. Their Prime Directive (yes, even Saint Mueller) is to stay in power after all.
It isn’t like the Russians had cameras set up at “Man’s Country” watching the future President receiving suitors, but you know darned well that they have the Clinton Foundation and/or the Trump business empire thoroughly monitored and charted out.
An interesting variant of this, given new modern abilities, would be DNA testing. Is Barrack Obama the son of Barrack Obama Sr.? Frank Davis? some other radical that mom had a fling with? Not to mention the Hubbell/Chelsea Clinton business. The thing is, 90% of these stories are false, but a true one would be dynamite given the silly nature of voters. It wouldn’t take much in the way of physical sample, and the opportunities for political mischief are many.
The fact that the so-called Russian election interference was so trivial merely proves to me that they either didn’t do it or weren’t really trying.
