Trump has announced that he is going to put himself on the face of the $100 bill. “After all,” Trump said, “Franken (sic) wasn’t even a President and I have done way more for this country in one year than he ever did in his whole life.”

Reading material on a slow news day. Head of the KGB to Head of the USSR memo concerning one Ted Kennedy, the Lying of the Senate and Democrat presidential nominee.
“In Kennedy’s view, the main reason for the antagonism between the United States and the Soviet Union in the 1980s was Reagan’s unwillingness to yield on plans to deploy middle-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe, the KGB chief wrote in his letter. “Kennedy was afraid that Reagan was leading the world into a nuclear war,” Kengor said. “He hoped to counter Reagan’s polices, and by extension hurt his re-election prospects.”

Darned if you do, darn if you don’t. There is no accounting for taste.
Offended by stereotyping, offended by insensitivity.
“This is what it’s like to be a black student at New York University…” she wrote. “In 2018, I literally had to explain why displaying watermelon and koolaid in celebration of Black History Month was not only racially insensitive but just ignorant.”
https://nypost.com/2018/02/21/nyu-served-racially-insensitive-black-history-month-meal/
Ok, offended by not sterotyping, offended by insensitivity. From Lena Durman’s college:
“A petition protesting both the quality and selection of food options served at Lord-Saunders Dining Hall began circulating on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Students called for CDS to adhere to more traditional meals, including making fried chicken a permanent feature on the Sunday night menu and providing more vegan and vegetarian options.
The petition also outlines a list of proposed meals, offering authentic food ideas, recommendations on how to properly prepare food and reduce the amount of cream used in dishes because, as stated in the petition, “Black American food doesn’t have much cream in it.”……
https://oberlinreview.org/9451/news/students-protest-in-wake-of-a-house-petition/
And to think serving baked chicken at the dining hall started it all. Sure, there were other issues like having the food servers take oppression training. but the food was the biggest thorn in the side.
Sure wish they would make up their minds.

A new flipper. this is more fun than I possibly imagined. Will testify against Manifort who faces prison forever with a batch of new charges. The greaser Kushner is next on the food chain.
“Rick Gates, a former campaign aide to President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty to two charges and will cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Gates pleaded guilty on Friday afternoon to conspiracy against the United States in connection with avoiding taxes as well as a charge of lying to the Special Counsel’s Office and the FBI.”
Gates could be sentenced to about five years in federal prison under the sentencing guidelines, though there’s the potential he could get less time.

I take it PaulE’s unbridled joy is in anticipation of something finally starting to tie the president to some nefarious activity. It’s hard to believe that his happiness extends to third and fourth tier subordinates being indicted for activities that preceded the Trump candidacy. DonB 906pm – I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. There are high school students in the US who don’t recognize a square root symbol, and mistake it for a gun, and then the police are called???!! Is this an indication that as a nation, we are at the threshold of both unbelievable ignorance and stupidity?? Who called the police, a teacher? What function will people like this have in our society?

Dr. R, I was floored that a so called math student in a math class could have possibly a) not known what it was or b) was such a snowflake to have complained that it was a threat that led to police action. It does however say a lot about that schools administration and teachers! Pathetic. 😉

I am floored that people here came to the conclusion the kids didn’t recognize the square root symbol… and If you compare it to the index finger & thumb combination universally recognized as a cocked pistol, I can see how some kids could have used it… what shocks me is the extreme hypersensitivity of school personnel and the lack of reason among police and a judge going off half cocked.

Bummer that they don’t seem able to actually show the new (or old) mission statement, honestly I’d be surprised if you had looked up the new or the old one. When you’re in the propaganda business, I guess there’s no point.
After a moment’s googling:
“U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services administers the nation’s lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values.”
I can’t see anything wrong with that at all. Do you?
I guess that the underlying difference in attitude is that Team Blue values foreign nationals more than US citizens, and God knows the future 700M citizens of Nigeria (per pop. estimates in 2050) or the one gajillion in India are better off here than there…Team Red is more interested in the well being of current US citizens.
If Team Blue had their way, you have to wonder what the point of even having a border is. The Prime Directive of Team Red is to protect themselves from Team Blue.
