    As we know now, most of the media totally missed Trump’s appeal to millions upon millions of Americans. The prejudice against him blinded those news organizations to what was happening in the country. Even more incredibly, I believe the bias and hostility directed at Trump backfired. The feeling that the election was, in part, a referendum on the media, gave some voters an extra incentive to vote for Trump. A vote for him was a vote against the media and against Washington. Not incidentally, Trump used that sentiment to his advantage, often revving up his crowds with attacks on reporters. He still does.
    If I haven’t made it clear, let me do so now. The behavior of much of the media, but especially The New York Times, was a disgrace. I don’t believe it ever will recover the public trust it squandered.

    Climate Change:
    I don’t really keep up in the least, but here is my take. Down in Antarctica, they drilled into the ice something like 10, 000 feet and the ice was something like 40,000 years old. The core tells a story, speaks from the past to the present over many moons.
    The story the ice cores tell us is that increases in temperature preceded increases in carton dixode, not increases in CO2 preceded warming.
    Question: Is there anything else I should know or am missing the point? Can I save myself from reading endless papers? Or, do I get it and can move on to other more important topics?

    Special Counsel Meuller is making a mockery of the FBI today. He is indicting 13 Russians for things like “identity theft” and other ridiculous things. Of course the fact that Meuller says all this started in 2014 before Trump even announced his run for President has not been explained. This tells me that he has nothing and all this crap is simply “process crimes” not connected with his charge of “collusion”. Of course, there is no crime alledged which means they have nothing.

    On the school shooter, I can’t see how the President is to blame. Congress has not put any bill on his desk to sign concerning the matter. On the Federal level, “Congress shall pass no law…..”
    The next step is what? Go out and round up all the mentally ill people and lock them up? Not very easy to do. The ACLU has fought against all efforts to do such a thing on the civil liberties agrument. Heck, just try to get some half whacked homeless guy striking his girlfriend or yelling at customers outside of Safeway into some mental institution under the guise of being “a potential harm to himself or others”and see how that goes. Ain’t going to happen.
    Another concern I have is that some jail, prison, or county shrink may not be the best “professional” to decide who is crazy enough to be put in the looney bin. Who decides who gets committed? Afterall, I strongly believe that government as a general rule is the employer of last resort and any shrink with a degree who applies for the job as a prison headshrinker in and of itself is suspect. They really have to scrap the bottom of the barrel to fill those positions. Maybe some novice starting out seeking to get something on their resume applies when they can’t find a job or can’t make it in private practice. Remember that the Oreville Dam was designed by a kid who just walked out of college with an engineering degree, still wet behind the ears, but hired by the government.
    So, the individual has gun rights. The sicko individual has civil liberty rights. Yes, not all these rights are absolute as the First Amendment does not allow for the press to threaten somebody with bodily harm or a religion to practice human sacrifice….not to mention a individual owning a fully armed F-16 or the ole “yelling fire in the movie house.”
    So, guess we are back to Loretta Lynch after the Pulse shooting proclaiming with sincere face that jobs and hugs are THE solution to Islamic terrorism stateside and across the world. Hmm, that does not explain workplace violence. Ever heard of disgruntled workers with hunting rifles?
    Guess it gets down to hugs, not drugs. If prayers are ridiculed, then hugs must be the answer….unless it’s a big taboo with all this sexual harassment charges being ballyhooed about from the school playground to the top echelon of Government, business, and the entertainment-media insturial complex.
    My first post on the matter has not changed. (last Sandbox). The common denominator of all school shooting is head meds passed out like candy to minors….head meds to fight anxiety and depression that the FDA has repeatly said are for adult use only. Not recommended for minors. The culprit can be traced back to Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). Just like pot, there are some that have adverse and unintended reactions to the drugs. Instead of alleviating anxiety, it can be an enhancer. Instead of helping with depression, it can make a few go out and stab granny 83 times.
    With talk about concealed carry laws as a villain, how can one conceal a AR-15 or a shotgun.?? Sawed off shotguns have been illegal all my life, but I digress.
    Here is an example of a typical (partial) solution making the rounds to a very complex problem with many moving parts. Blame parents? Blame SCOTUS? Blame the President? Blame video games? Blame the isolation that comes with being addicted to social media? Blame shrinks? Blame drugs? Blame somebody else? Blame society? Are we all to blame….as long as “we” does not include “me?
    Personally, I blame hip-hop gansta rap. Promotes violence and lack of empathy. Pick a card, any card.

    The left and their media sycophants are attacking the NRA again. But why? The NRA teaches the correct handling of guns, handguns and long rifles. They are very conscientious about the proper use of weapons. They are all in for the Second Amendment. But they are the target of the left as they are easy to blame. But the blame is misdirected. The left should be after the criminals and the people that supply those mind-altering drugs to kids. How many sons were placed on some drug to calm them down as little boys? Many. I blame the idiots that issue those drugs. And most of those “laws” allowing those drugs to be used were the result of lawsuits by Trial Lawyers. Those lawyers should look in the mirror and ask themselves why they would force drugs into our kids at such young age.
    There is plenty of blame to go around but to me, the NRA is not one to be blamed. If we want to stop school shootings we need to bring into our schools the old teachings of “morality and ethics” we learned when we were kids. Right and wrong seem to be missing. And with the demise of the family unit in America, no one seems to want to teach those things to their kids as they want to be pals and not parents. The death penalty needs to be utilized and made a certain and sooner penalty as well. If these shooters know they are headed to the electric chair in a speedy and certain way, perhaps that would be a plus. But those lefty trial lawyers and liberal saps will need to be neutralized by laws they cannot bastardize into impotence.
    So I say arm the teachers and train them to defend themselves and their charges in all the schools. Stop the issuance of mind-altering drugs to the youth of America. Take seriously anyone that posts threats on social media or speaking to others. If you want peace in schools and you want people to obey the law then you need to teach that to the youth. Phew!

    Remember when Obama told the nation if we see any thing suspicious, report it? Well, if you did, you were instantly labeled as an Islamophobe. I wish they would make up their minds. The San Bernardo massacre was in part facilitated by neighbors who were quite suspicious, but kept quiet because they wanted to be PC and not be branded with a hot iron on their foreheads as Islamophobes.
    Going in the opposite direction, remember than 2nd or 3rd grader that got expelled and police were called because the little one ate his Poptart in the shape of Nevada County, i. e., a gun? It’s a gun!!! Think even CPS was involved…and if so, probably still is. They hate to let anyone leave the system.
    Teenagers by definition are alien creatures. Frontal lobe not fully developed and feelings of loneliness, a square peg in a round hole, being out of place, undeserved illusions of self importance, “it can’t happen to me, ever”, and worse, they derive a sick devilious pleasure of sticking it to authority and anyone in authority. Sort of like some posters. Anyway, we all know what “at risk” behavior is, even with dealing with our wonderful alien creatures going through adolesence.
    Problem is nowadays is that even the best parents have to be good parents and role models for 8-9 or their kids’ friends. Guess it takes a village. 😉
