Seems to me that the democrats and their rat media should be celebrating the memo since they declared it a “nothing burger”. If is contrived then I would have expected them to be telling us all that is wrong with it point by point. But they are not.

Darn if I’m not missing my market ticker again.
Hey, Bessee please fill us in on how brilliantly the market is responding to Mr Trump. I’m guessing that with the release of “the memo”, the man in orange is freed from any and all suspicion and has resumed his quest to maga. I bet the market has soared under the news. Only wish I could read my ticker. Thanks in advance for your help and edification.

    JS,
Follow the news. Friday on her way out the door, Yellen said the market’s are too high (overvalued) and they are considering another interest rate hike. That sent the market’s down. They indeed may be overvalued at these nose bleed levels. Also Friday, the news that the government is levying another big fine against Well Fargo sent all banking stocks down. Interest rate hikes, stocks overvalued, slamming Wells Fargo…..it does not take much for a small correction. A 15-20% correction would be normal, and we are seeing a 4% correction at the moment, maybe a bit more. What, the S&P fell all the way to some nose bleed level of 2,7000? Lol. I remember when the S&P could not stabilize at 1500, always dropped below that for months and months on end. I was glad when it hit 1250 and stayed there for a couple weeks.
Yellen speaks, market’s react. Like Bitcoin, when it goes up that high that quickly, people get nervous.

Are you saying the Feds were wrong in levying a big fine against Well Fargo?

Pull your head out, Paul. I said the Fed’s hit Wells Fargo with another fine, which sent banking stocks down. Right or wrong has nothing to do with the statement that the banking stocks went down. Are you on drugs or just being your normal self?
Also, an uptick in wage growth (higher wages) spurs inflation fears. Blame that directly on Trump’s Tax Reform as the new normal of stagnet wages is over.

Responding to the Democrats lack of enthusiasm for his SOTU speech he responded.
“Vaguely noting that “someone” called the Democrats’ reactions “‘treasonous,’” Trump said he agreed. “I mean, yeah, I guess. Why not? … Can we call that treason? Why not? I mean, they certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much.”

To get our terms correct, a correction of the market means a 10% slide. Greenspan was talking about a bubble last week. Yellen said “overvalued” as she headed out the door Friday. That’s all it takes. The market is based on emotion more than anything else, and based on the future, not today. That’s why the market is considered volatile. Emotions and expectations.
For example, I once bought some Target shares. Had the best quarter in its history. Sales broke all records for that particular 4th quarter. Highest sales ever in the company’s history of any quarter. My Target shares fell. Why? Because even through the sales went through the roof, they did not meet the analysts’ expectations. Go figure. Nature of the beast.
Anytime the up arrow starts getting too vertical, I back away. What goes up must come down. I prefer a nice gradual rising graph. 20-30% gain in 2017 is not something I expect every year. A 6% gain this year on top of 2017 would be nice. Months to go. It’s only the first days of February. Want to see volatility? Buy Red Chinese shares. They can swing 20% in a day.

Posted by: Don Bessee | 05 February 2018 at 08:16 PM – Typical wacky article from Breitbart. A high speed road on the top of the wall; what is the purpose of that when a drone could just hover above a fence? Flood control? To make sure less water reaches Mexico?
Infrastructure project? That is a generous use of the term “infrastructure” – in fact, I think it is a BS word to use. It doesn’t do anything to help the economy (except as a make-work public works welfare project).
Why wouldn’t we want to put those dollars to work to immediately put train track safety controls in place first? Aren’t saving lives also good for the economy? That would be an actual infrastructure project.
That was a rhetorical question because, of course, the wall has nothing to to with the economy, it just plays to the paranoid fears of hard right Trumpers, who according to USA today report are only making about 50% of what they need to adequately sustain themselves and their families – and that 50% doesn’t own stocks. And the Trumpers have been convinced that it is all the fault of immigrants.

Not debatable at all. You as the lessee can make upgrades to the lease at your expense if the landlord permits. An upgrade that you as business owner feels is beneficial.
The tracks and appurtenances are owned by the railroads (the business)….if they want to install additional safety upgrades….well good on them! No need to try and label it infrastructure and put your hand out to the taxpayers though.

For your consideration. DACA. If DACAs really do have work, education, and moral character requirements (enforced) and have a path to citizenship in 12 years, then that means they will be working and educated. Someone who has been working hard, perhaps starting their own business, literate in English, not to mention somewhat educated through our low bar K-12 system, think what that means. It means that someone out there hustling their tail off, improving their lot in life, keeping their noses to the grindstone, staying out of trouble, following the rules, settling down, paying taxes, dealing with burdensome regulations in business or studying their paychecks while shaking their heads seeing all the taxes taken out of their checks…..well, that person is more likely than not to vote Republican after a dozen years, lol
Be careful what you wish for. The average age of the 800,000 DACAs is 27 years old. 0.5% have joined the military. DACA high school drop out rate is higher than normal, illiteracy in English much higher than average. Looks like the old DACA program did not work as planned.
For example, there was a story that pulled at the liberals’heartstrings a few days ago. An 30 year old illegal was deported (again ). Father of 6 with one in the oven. Been here 20 years, can only speak to the press through an interpreter because he cannot speak English. Never applied for a green card or work permit. Press called him the “sole breadwinner” for his family, What does this have to DACA? Well, his poor 27 year old wife (non-English speaker) mother of six and pregnant with the seventh, is a DACA. No skills, no education to speak off, just a burden on society. That DACA gal has been busy..with soon to be seven minor children. She will vote Democrat, no doubt.
For today, it’s all a mute point. Trump just announced (Breaking News!) moments ago that he believes he does not have the Constitutional authority to extend DACA. Federal courts already have said as much. Law and order man, respect for the rule of law. How refreshing. Too bad our 27 year old DACA pregnant mother of six had no skills or education.

    Oh hardly an expert Michael…..
The majority of Amtrak long track miles are on freight rail lines over which Amtrak has leased access rights. Again these are private, owned by the freight carriers. I suppose if you wanted to install track (not much) safety controls on the….your words….(not much) amount of track (beltway-northeast Acela) corridor that would make for a splendid infrastructure project.
Given their routinely bad press I’m kind of surprised they haven’t already.

You keep saying Comey derailed Hillary’s chances. That’s why Trump fired Comey.
I thought it was the Russians. Yesterday she said it was sexism and misogyny…a claim made by the only ‘woman’ in the entire USA besides Botox Nancy that never had to worry about being sexually harassed. Akin to Bubba hiring Janet Reno because Ms. Reno was the only one nobody would ever consider having a Nannygate problem.
Hillary has blamed the DNC, the polls, and really really blames women for not voting for her. White women, It’s those damn women who voted for Trump, and those darn 30% of Latinos that voted for Trump that derailed her chances.
I personally think it was that awful voice of hers but have no proof.
No, those “damn e-mails” were a problem of her own making. She hatched the plan to use her private server to avoid FOIA requests and detection and thought she could ride it out. Hillary also thought she could go nine months without holding a real press conference during the heat of a campaign to avoid hard questions. Her problems were of her own making, despite all the help Obama and the Deep State threw her way.
Comey derailed her chances? Comey and McCabe gave her a pass and declared committing 10,000 felonies of mishandling government owned documents as mere extreme carelessness.
The only reason Comey came back out in October was because of the thousands of e-mails found by the FBI’s New York field office on perv Weiner’s laptop. The New York office’s agents threatened to go public, mass resignations, and there was a rather large uprising by good field agents when Washington tried to put a lid on it. They forced Comey’s hand to inform Congress, whether Comey want to (he didn’t) or not.
What Comey did was aid and abet Hillary’s campaign and tried to torpedo her opponent’s campaign. When that failed, he participated in a Silent Coup to overthrow the election results by abusing the 4th Amendment. There never was any Russian Collusion, unless you count Hillary, her campaign, the DNC, and FBI colluding with Russian agents via British spy Steele to dirty Trump. See part 2.

    Part 2.
MAGA, for your consideration: Think back, my good hairy woman, think back. August 2016, then September, 2016. McCabe sitting on a report. Looks bad for Hillary. A week goes by, another week, another week passes and still the FBI evidence sits on McCabe’s desk. It’s now October, report is sitting there on his desk collecting dust. People are asking questions. FBI agents asking questions. The heat is on. Oh what to do,what to do? Election is almost here, just two weeks away. Maybe McCabe can sweat it out, let the clock run out. No, it’s out there now, rumors in the press. Time to drop ball in Comey’s lap. 11 days to go until Hillary wins. What to do, oh what to do. Ball is in Comey’s lap now.
I don’t care if you are a full blown liberal, far right wacko, Progressive, moderate, RINO, or a friggin Green Libertarian. We want our FBI and Justice Department (with subpoena power) to be straight shooters. The guys and gals in the white hats, going to any lengths to bring the bad guys to justice. Non-partisan. Truth tellers. Let the chips fall where they may.
If McCabe was a straight shooter, and if Comey came out in July and kicked Hillary’s Investigation over to the Grand Jury….or IF IF IF McCabe-Comey came out in September, 2016 with the new bombshell, the Dems would have had time to nominate Joe Biden or Cory Baker as a replacement. All legal. Joe Biden might have won Pennsylvania and Michigan, or maybe PA and Fla. That’s all it would have taken, game over. Dems win. But no.
Who derailed Hillary’s chances? Wrong question. The more poignant question is why wasn’t Hillary’s campaign derailed by evidence of her malfeasance? For that, you can blame corruption…both Hillary’s and the Obama Administration….working in collusion to shove Hillary down all our throats.
