George, I think Trump’s top aide Mr. Bannon was referring to the conspiracy meeting Don Jr. held with the Russians at Trump Tower, NYC (there’s so many!) May 2016. He was using the popular understanding of Treason like I was. Don’t get all pedantic on us about war. There are lots of other examples.

Why hasn’t Michael Wolff’s dementia-Trump ever been seen in public?

In the book, Trump has an impossibly short attention span, refuses to learn from policy briefs and fails to grasp the fundamentals of U.S. government.
Where was this version of Trump when giving one of his dozens of interviews, hosting his rallies, or delivering public remarks at any point between 2015 and now?
Yes, Trump mostly spoke extemporaneously during the campaign, often repeating words and themes, a phenomenon otherwise known as speaking aloud.
But he’s also delivered dozens of speeches off teleprompters, proving he can actually read, frequently going off-script to offer commentary and then returning to the prepared remarks.
During the campaign, from January to September in 2016, he hosted more than four-and-a-half hours worth of press conferences, compared to Hillary Clinton’s 38 minutes worth.
Here’s an experiment: Put a truly mentally slow older person, like Dana Milbank, for example, on stage in front of reporters to answer a succession of questions for one hour. Then compare it to the multiple times Trump did it, and see who comes out sharpest.
As president, Trump frequently approaches the press pool in order to answer a range of questions, something former President Obama rarely did.
In Wolff’s book, he says Trump is perpetually distracted, can’t train his mind on substance, and couldn’t recognize his own friends.
Contrast that account with the transcript of a 30-minute interview Trump gave at his golf club in Florida on Dec. 28 to the New York Times. It shows him talking at length about the Russia investigation, the threat from North Korea, and immigration. He even interrupts his thoughts to speak with guests he presumably recognizes.
You never see dementia-Trump in public because he only lives in the heads of Democrats and reporters — but I repeat myself — who are desperate to believe, and who are making fools of themselves in the process. — Glenn Reynolds

Re EricA 151am – There is, of course, no profit to be had in attempting to correct the incorrigible. But readers should be interested in how such folks diminish the info carrying capacity of English and work hard to bring about Newspeak, a version of our language that contracts instead of expands. A prime means of this is taking words with established and precise meanings, and using them in inappropriate contexts to promote an agenda, continue a narrative, or simply exhibit a deficient vocabulary. In this case the lexicographic victim is ‘treason’ that has now also acquired a “popular (mis)understanding”, which therefore removes its use from reasoned conversation.
Treason joins a growing list of words – e.g ‘racist’ and ‘hero’ – whose correct meanings have been lost to almost the entire publicly educated population, and therefore, when used, do nothing but generate waste heat in the public dialogue. There was no treason involved in the Left’s most wildly configured meetings between Team Trump and various Russians. And after two years of investigations, there is yet to be evidence presented or even claimed by the investigating bodies on which to base such allegations. That cannot be said for the DNC and Hillary who actually commissioned intermediaries to generate and introduce fake evidence from Russian sources.

Indeed. Only time I have ever seen my words quoted exactly word for word was in the Scooper. The Scooper will be missed. I once forwarded one of Scooper’s articles about a FEMA truck in town to round us up was in reality a taco wagon. The folks on the East Coast fell for it…..hook, line, and sinker. Added the the crazy California biases they already held.
The Scooper probably did not renew their domain name. Oh well. Gave me lots of laughs in the middle of a sea of downer Dems. Invaluable service to our community.
Domain names are kinda important to renew. Remember that time Low Energy Jeb went to click on his campaign website only to redirected to a big picture of a smiling Trump and Trump’s campaign site. That had me howling. Imagine the Nevertrumpers clicking on Jeb for President and seeing Trump’s smiling mug. Priceless. Jeb should have renenewed his domain name the very millisecond it came up for renewal. A smarter man did. 🙂

Wait 6-9 months for the effects of the tax cuts to kick in. But, then again, what goes up, must come down…….eventually. Time will tell, but the trajectory with the tax reform kicking in looks promising. It’s now over 100 companies that are passing out Trump bonuses to employees. A small leak in the dike, or does this portend a tsunami of bonuses sweeping the nation? I don’t have a crystal ball and past performances do not guarantee future results….I love that disclaimer.

Speaking of Fats, the unhinged exploding heads are too hilarious. CNN tried to get Trump blocked from Twitter last week because of those violent (gasp) threatening (gasp gasp)tweets concerning the little fat Cabbage Patch Doll running North Korea, the aborable Kim. CNN cried out the tweets broke a whole bunch of Twitter social media rules. CNN and it’s dishonorable discharges wanted Trump blocked from Twitter and his tweets removed and lost into the dust bin of history. He broke the rules!!!

Boy, last year it was all about not enough persons of color winning enough awards. Big stink. This year it’s all about women in the workforce and their bad bosses’ behavior, known primarily as males. The book appears to have about the same credibility as the dossier. You know the dossier. It’s that paper funded by My Gal Hill whose contents was comprised of information fed to Steele by Russian agents of the former KGB. That Russian propaganda which comprised the dossier was received by a sitting President as an excuse to spy on the political campaign of a political opponent. There is the Collusion, neatly laid out for all to see.
However, instead of being a bigger story than Watergate and the Pentegon Papers combined, the Russian Collusion with our government via the Democrat Party campaign is drawing crickets from fakenews MSM. Strike that. The Collusion with agents of the Russian government with one political party in power to wiretap political opponents is not being covered by Fraudnews MSM. Not fakenews, it’s fraudnews.
About the book, Bannon was not even at the meeting. Trump did not want to win? Ok, whatever you say, Lefties.

Words and meanings. Yes, we have circled this barn before. As Dr. Rebane pointed out in a recent reply, the words “treason” and “Hero”are being ballyhooed and tossed about deeds and events that once were considered ordinary under the sun. Even firing up a snow plow to clear the streets after a weekend storm is now a “crisis”.
Has anyone else noticed how the word “Crisis” is being applied to just about everything since the Age Of Degrangement Syndrome as arrived? Climate Change is now called Climate Crisis, Trump’s tweets are now a crisis, and……well, you get the idea. Dilution is the solution, I reckon.

Eliot Cohen reached for it in the very first week of the presidency.
Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker waited until February 10 to say that the cabinet should use that amendment’s provisions since Trump is “so incompetent — or not-quite-right” that he poses a threat. Perhaps most famously, New York Times‘ conservative columnist Ross Douthat went hard for the 25th Amendment solution to what ails him in mid-May.
Even as various journalists and media outlets admitted the book was false, that it had made-up quotes and anecdotes, and that it didn’t grasp basics of the Trump White House, they said they believed it was fake, but accurate.
At the same time, media leaders of the movement to oust Trump used a book by an academic who has been ranting and raving about Trump and mental fitness for more than a year. She claimed to meet with Democrats and a Republican senator (it turned out she had embellished that last part) to discuss Trump’s fitness. This was used for segment after media segment discussing the same.”
Hmmmm. Fake but accurate? Remove by force if necessary??? The whole Fakenews Fraudmedia needs one big psychological evaluation to see if they have a brain. Strike that. Perhaps Dr. Ben Carson wii perform his talents for us his and tell us if they even posses a brain organ before wasting time on a psyc evaluation.
