   The “job” approval rating Trump enjoyed early on was a natural American coming together for the new president. It fell apart when the attacks started. Remember the guffawing when Trump made the claim that Comey told him three times he was not under investigation? The story (the fictional story) from the left has been that Trump colluded with Putin to win the election. I ain’t seen evidence of it yet… have you?

The real question is, what are they seeking to hide?

    That tells me you don’t want to know the answer, Paul.
    At the time of the election, Trump was not being investigated. When Trump asked Comey if he was under investigation after the inauguration, Comey told him he wasn’t. Three times. Confirmed under oath to the Congress during testimony.
    The (yes, fake) news being spread had the effect of peeling off more moderate Dems and independents away from giving the new President room to govern. He’s left with his core… and if Mueller doesn’t produce something related to collusion with the Russians during the campaign there will be repercussions.

    “I think we will be picking up seats as the democrat party is self-destructing.” What is that based on Todd, the massive Republican losses (particularly to women) in Virginia or Roy Moore’s loss to a Democrat in the reddest state in America? The republicans are having their chance at governing now with full control of all three branches of government. Just don’t forget that trump didn’t win the popular vote, is the most unpopular president (at this point) in history, and the only piece of significant legislation he has gotten passed is the tax giveaway (without any hearings what-so-ever) to himself and the wealthiest most corporate friendly cabinet in history. Voters are leaving the Republican Party in droves (now only 35%) and you say the Dems are self-destructing. This, of course, does not include pussy grabbing or the Russians. So we will find out in less than a year how the trump version republican leadership plays with the American people. Fool me once, fool me twice. We shall see if the American people will get fooled again or not.
