[Here's a short piece – 'The problem with liberalism: It has no limiting principles' – by Tim Jones that closely summarizes a lot of what RR has been promoting (H/T to correspondent). Its appearance in the American Thinker again gives lie to the local liberal loonies who continue to maintain that the sentiments and observations appearing in these pages are the rantings of lone rightwing voices found only in these foothills. My own thesis – that these loonies don't get out very much to find out what's happening in the world – has been proven true countless number of times over the lifetime of RR. They really should expand their sources if they want to stop coming off as being somewhere between terminally cynical and simply silly. gjr]

To illustrate my above preamble, I’ll start off by drawing your attention to the last comment in the 20nov17 Sandbox by Mr Robert Cross, one of our illustrious liberals. There he dismisses a verifiable fact posted by another commenter for the only reason that its cited source is a rightwing outlet.

George — I am just pointing out to passersby that Scott’s source is a sketchy website known to pass on propaganda with an extreme right bias. That is all. Like all things fact or fiction, you may take it or leave it.
I think you’ll find bobby….can I call you bobby? That these MSM outlets have very bit the dodgy reputation of those that you cite as……horrors……“right wing”.
A good rule of thumb is that most media outlets that progressives label “extreme right” are usually guilty of little more than saying things that ruin counter to the “narrative”!

Yes, I get the same shuffle from Robert Cross when I quote a paper on climate change posted at Watts Up With That. Robert discounts the peer-reviewed article because it was posted on a TV weatherman’s blog. Never mind that my posted quote came from a study done by a climate scientist and published in peer-reviewed journal. It is just a convenient excuse for discounting the facts that do not support Robert’s worldview.

Adding to the points by Messrs fish and Russ above, differentiating between clearly verifiable assertions (i.e. data exists to confirm or falsify them) and propositions/theories yet to be confirmed/falsified is a skill that will prevent one from rejecting or accepting something just because its citation belonged to an ideologically tinged source. Even I will believe the time of day as reported by a self-avowed socialist.

Dr. Rebane, I cannot find the thread concerning what defines sexual harassment, but here is an answer….from yet another right wing tainted and bias source. Survey sez it depends on who you ask.
Oh, those Americans are such prudes.
โWhen it came to asking a woman out for a drink, about one in four young males and about 12.5% of young females said it would “always” or “usually” be a form of sexual harassment. For reference, those polled in Sweden, Germany, and the U.K., all polled around 0% for this particular hypotheticalโ.

BillT 122pm – Thanks for the good effort. Defining sexual harassment is nigh on impossible when we take into consideration today’s chaotic values. But putting out a reasonable operational definition that many (most?) people will accept may still be possible. Mea culpa, I’m working on such a definition and it’s taking longer than I had hoped.

Bessee at 3:12 – That’s a pretty interesting take on who the left considers to be a ‘victim’.
You can take that line of reasoning and eliminate all sorts of horrors. From genocide to pedophilia. Oh – that’s right – the left already does.
Funny how it doesn’t seem to apply to Americans of African origin. They get to claim to be victims of slavery if their pay drops below a couple a million a year of if they don’t like the boss.
For the left, it’s always about whatever fits the current narrative.

All the Dems and Liberals and socialists and media can talk about is sex and race. Sex and race. Boy, imagine what would happen in Alabama if Roy Moore and his hard core Alt-Left extremist opponent talked about the border. Illegal immigration, taxes, or real issues like who they would vote for to be the next Supreme Court Justice. We all know which side Roy Moore would vote on and we all know which side his opponent Doug Jones would vote 100% for against. Against any nominee in the Gorsuch mold for certain. But, dare not talk about that, dare not go there, must not go there.
Doug Jones is too extreme for Alabama, too extreme for America.
Even the Green Libertarian talks about nothing but sex. Not so much on race, Little if any on the issues. Sex, sex, sex. After all this Lefty sex talk runs itโs course, wonder what they will get unhinged over next? I am waiting on the edge of my seat.

An Endorsement: Roy Moore For Senate!
John Hinderaker at Powerline
I wouldnโt have voted for Judge Roy Moore in the Republican primary, and I tend to view him with distaste. But in the special election coming up in a couple of weeks, if I were an Alabama voter, I would cast my ballot for him enthusiastically.
Why? Two reasons. But first, the latest poll results from Alabama, via WBRC TV. This appears to be a meaningful poll, as it surveyed 3,000 likely Alabama votersโa substantial number. It shows Roy Moore coming back from the attacks on him to take a two-point lead, 47% to 45%.
This poll, taken last Monday evening, is already somewhat out of date. But I think it is easy to see why Alabama voters are trending back toward Judge Moore. As I said, there are two reasons:
1) Apparently Moore has done nothing wrong in the last 40 years. If he had, we would have heard about it. And if he has been pure for 40 years, or close to that time, he will be the most upright man in Washington, D.C. It wasnโt much more than 40 years ago when Ted Kennedy drowned Mary Jo Kopechne, and it was just under 40 years ago when Bill Clinton allegedly raped Juanita Broaddrick. If those offenses can be forgiven, Roy Mooreโs (weakly) alleged offenses should be forgiven, tooโespecially since, unlike Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton, he seems to have done nothing reprehensible in the decades that have gone by since.
2) His opponent is a Democrat. โNuff saidโPresident Trump was right about this. The Democrats are doing everything they can to block the Republican agenda in the Senate, and giving them another seat would only empower the flakes like John McCain and Susan Collins who seek to mold every vote toward their own eccentric visions. Letโs not weaken the GOP in the Senate any further. The Republic hangs in the balance.
So I say: Roy Moore for Senate! Enthusiastically.

Where did I say people shouldn’t vote Todd? Can you document that or is it another one of your lies. What I did say is it cost Nevada County taxpayers $75,000 to pay for Bessee’s stupid proposition that had no support. Anyone who reads or paid attention to the rollout of W at Rood Center knows that ya’ pathetic fakenewsman @ 441. Lame attempt at fakenews revisionist history. The County wrote W and I saw it when everyone else did. The campaigns 440’s are online with the elections office, see my name anywhere?
SAM debated Cal Growers at the league debate. We did not have enough money in the primary in Nevada County, we were overwhelmed by out of County pot interests pouring cash into the County. That coupled with the epic fail of the R’s get out the vote spelled defeat.
It was a ballot issue on a regularly scheduled election cycle so the cost was minimal. Now contrast that to the proponents of S fighting tooth and nail for a special election to deliberately cost the county massive bucks.
You are either lying or wallowing in po’ ol’ fakenews. It was the vote of the BOS that put it on the ballot. I don’t seem to recall being on the BOS, perhaps your memory is different. While I am a loyal and happy warrior in the vast right wing conspiracy, I was very open about W on YOUR RADIO SHOW right after the election.
