[Begrudgingly many are now acknowledging that Trump had a good trip to the Far East. More people now understand that America has its own interests topmost, and considers it a good thing if everyone recognizes and admits that they too have their countries' interest come first. It cuts out a lot of the bullshit when people meet to make deals on stuff like trade and national security. Maybe the new paradigm will be named the Trumpian Schools of Diplomacy. gjr]

Oh my. What rock did Glued to his Dude crawl out from?
This is 2017 and slut shaming is not right. Yes, the accuser was a covergirl on Playboy Magazine, something most people have never had the opportunity to meet in person. And she used that fame as a Playboy Mag model to her advantage to open doors and volunteered her time for the distinct honor of our entertaining our boys in uniform far away from home. I suppose Glued to his Dude would say because a female waited tables at Hooters or served cocktails in a shirt hiked up to her hips with cleavage showing, that waitress was asking for it…..she deserved to have Unwanted, Uninvited, Unwrlcomed hands on her body without her consent or have a tongue from a rather unattractive man shoved down her throat. Reminds me of that Italian judge who infamously claimed a rape victim deserved it because she was wearing tight fitting jeans. Or, blaming the Islamic immigrants in Europe for sexually assaulting native European ladies because they dressed provocatively, aka, stylish. That kind of mentality places the blame on the victim and absolves the gang rapers and sexual predators for not having a smidgen of any self control. It’s her fault!
With that said, the cavalier mistakes and behaviors of say, 20, 30, and even 40 years ago (38-40 years ago in Ray Moore’s case) should be taken into account and more emphasis placed on more recent unacceptable behaviors, as in the case of Anthony Weiner or whether the offenses were a life long unbroken trail of dastardly deeds, as Bill Clinton’s history going back to his time as governor. He went to church and sang in the choir after his defeat for reelection for Gov, then came back and was re-elected again in Little Rock. There is a long history of unwanted sexual advances on women before, during, and perhaps after his Presidency. And I ain’t talking consensual sex with an 18, then 19 year old intern or Jennifer Flowers. Look how he treated a grieving Friends of Bill Democrat supporter and campaign volunteer, who just lost her husband and came to Bubba seeking help landing a job, any job and consolation. Kathleen Wiley.
Once saw a Cathy cartoon with her sitting in an empty auditorium under a big banner that read “Welcome to the Adult Children of Normal Parents Convention”. Cathy was the only one in the audience, sitting all by her lonesome. A updated play on that old cartoon from the psycho-babble inner child days is this cartoon:
https://www.facebook.com/PatriotPost/photos/a.82108390913.80726.51560645913/10155205676750914/?type=3&theater
Now, what to do with charges/accusations that happened well before a person was elected to office. Too late? The Senate Ethics Committee has a distain for looking into behaviors of those they investigate if the dastardly deeds were committed prior to one being elected to the Senate. Makes sense. They may not even have jurisdiction of actions committed by a senator who was a non-Senator at the time.
How far do we go back? To those wild party college days? They say if you can remember the 60’s, you never lived through them. How far back? That popular cooking show host Paula Dean lost everything over a 20year old comment she admitted quite candidly to. Robert Byrd was forgiven and kept using the N word, even on one of his last interviews. Trent Lott simply attended the100th birthday of Strorm Thurmond (Strom was a segregationalist in the 50s and 60’s), said Lott some nice thing about the longest serving Senator (48:years) , and was run out of office. It ain’t about race, gender, or timeframe…it’s all about politics.
Poor Paula Dean. Glad they did not do to Bill Maher dropping the N word in 2017 what they did to Paula Dean in 2012 for something said many many years prior.
2012:
Her company issued a statement Thursday saying Deen used the epithet, but in a “quite different time” in American history.
“She was born 60 years ago when America’s South had schools that were segregated, different bathrooms, different restaurants and Americans rode in different parts of the bus. This is not today.”
The Food Network, which airs three shows featuring Deen, issued a statement saying that it would “continue to monitor the situation.”
“Food Network does not tolerate any form of discrimination and is a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion,” the network said.
The language in question was revealed recently as part of a deposition of Deen by Jackson’s lawyers in May.
Jackson lawyer: “Miss Deen, have you told racial jokes?”
Deen: “No, not racial.”
Jackson lawyer: “Have you ever used the ‘N word’ yourself?”
Deen: “Yes, of course.”
Deen testified that she probably used the racial slur when talking to her husband about “when a black man burst into the bank that I was working at and put a gun to my head.”
“I didn’t feel real favorable towards him,” she said, referring to the robber.
Jackson lawyer: “Have you used it since then?”
Deen: “I’m sure I have, but it’s been a very long time.”
Deen said she couldn’t remember other contexts in which she used the slur, but “maybe in repeating something that was said to me.”
“But that’s just not a word that we use as time has gone on,” she said. “Things have changed since the ’60s in the South. And my children and my brother object to that word being used in any cruel or mean behavior.
Does seem inconsistent to trash one, not the other….to put it gently.

Sarah Palin says she’s never been sexually harassed — and she thinks she knows why
As sexual harassment scandals continue to surface seemingly by the minute, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she has never been harassed, and for good reason: She packs heat.
As the allegations against Democratic U.S. Sen. Al Franken broke on Thursday, an MSNBC reporter asked Palin, “Have you ever experienced sexual harassment in the workplace as a ambitious woman in public life?”
According to multiple news reports, Palin replied: “You know, I think a whole lot people know that I’m probably ‘packing’ – so, I don’t think there’s a whole lot of people who would necessarily mess with me.”

Dr. Rebane, earlier today, concerning Honesty and campaign promises.
I decided once to check out (watch live on CSPAN) the relatively unknown to me, the Jr. Senator of Illinois who was running against the Chosen One, the soon to be the first female President of the USA, Ms. Hillary Clinton. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about that “clean nice looking articulate Negro” as described by Harry Reed and others in the Dem leadership.
Obama was at a factory in the Rust Belt floating his ideas. An idea I had previously read about earlier and liked. His idea was to give a $5,000 credit to employers who hired and trained an additional (new) employee. 5k would not cover the training and hiring costs of a new employee, I thought, but it was worth a shot and better than nothing. Nothing ever came of the idea since his election in 2008. Did I even once consider that to be a lie? No, nope, nada. It was the campaign trail and there was some blowback against his “promise” by some Dem groups. Forget the reason, but it was not to be.
Reagen tried to clean up Washington, cut the fat, and downsize government. Found it impossible. Oh, a few snips here and there, but hardly what he envisioned on the campaign trail. Wonder if that experience in futility gave rise to his quote:
No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!”
The Education Department still exists. Liar!!…or the reality is he just did not have the votes or a willing Congress
Other “lies” occur when a President after declaring things on the campaign trail finds out which battle is truly worth fighting, which ones are in reality unattainable, which ones do not have the votes, and which bills are worth compromising on to get it passed The ole “half a loaf is better than no loaf.” It’s never black and white….only in some Green Libertarian’s mind. When new or more complete information is presented, the reality is that some campaign promises may actually do more harm than good as promised and need to be re-evaluated or dismissed.
Then there are out right lies. The Swamp Creature John McCain ran numerous ads during his last campaign standing as a man 100% in support for repealing Obamacare and even issued statements all in on tighter border security along our exposed southern border to stop the flow of illegal aliens….to protect Americans. Nothing could have been further from the truth….more dishonest, if you will. To have tried and failed is understandable. To not even try….. then oppose vehemently once in office that which one promised on the trail is very dishonest.
What’s that old poem about the youthful runner who died just before the finish line…..something like it is better to have raced and died than not to have raced at all. Died trying.
No wonder the Neocons and libs love our war hero. He is one of the Deep State’s most loyal members and advocates.

“Queensland’s Labor government says it has no plans to shut down state-owned coal-fired power stations so it can meet its renewable energy target.
Energy Minister Mark Bailey has rubbished a new analysis of Labor’s 50 per cent renewable target by 2030, which warns of power station closures and an increased risk of widespread blackouts.”
“LNP leader Tim Nicholls says he’s seen the reports of plant closures, and his party flatly rejected Labor’s “crazy” renewable energy target.
“Queenslanders want reliable and affordable power; they don’t want to end up like South Australia with blackouts and the most expensive power in the western world,” he told reporters in Bundaberg.”

Well, it’s time for a bit of reflection. I was told that the Republicans would distance themselves from Trump and force the uncouth President from office. Trump would be forced to resign by now. Well, the RINOs certainly have been smoked out and hath thrown all their Hell fire at Trump. So, the first part is correct, no doubt. Maybe Gov. K of Ohio would block Trump from winning the nomination. How about the Grap the Clam tape. Fast forward to The Golden Shower/Yellow Snow story. Street riots, Independent Prosecutor, articles of Impeachment drawn up, and a whole bunch of stuff including what shoes the First Lady wore BOARDING da plane. Look Boss, Da plane, Da plane!
Well, well, well. Them awful Deplorables don’t take kindly to the Establishment R’s and have a real contempt for the Liberals and Progressives, especially them libs. The Alt-Left, Antifa, MSM, Acedemia, are just all bluster, breathing wind, cutting the cheese, a breathe of fresh air, if you catch my drift. Objects of ridicule. Much fodder for memes and displays of absurdity.
So, is Trump still around? Impossible. I was told he would gone by now. Geeze, those knuckle dragging gun clutching Bible thumpin’ flat earthers truly are Irredeemable. And that’s their good qualities.
Instead of being washed away with Yellow Shower, Trump done tossed a pearl necklace on their chins….again. Of all the news and memes and stories and warriors for social justice buying up all the play-dough around, I like this one the best. That be cause I have Deplorable blood pumping in my veins.

Re George Boardman’s 20nov17 Union column – We do know that CCW holders can and have limited spontaneous murder and mayhem; not sure that Mr Boardman’s semi-snarky proposal has any merit. But his “if we’re going to permit just about anybody to buy assault rifles and 30-round magazines, …” is the typical off-base, hip-level liberal response to mass killings by madmen. These liberals do not recognize that the laws already on the books don’t “permit just about anybody …”; it’s that the existing laws aren’t being enforced, and there is no expectation that more stringent laws will be enforced either. And who is the “we” currently doing the permitting? Isn’t it the same government that Mr Boardman and his kind want to expand and enlarge? (BTW, it also isn’t clear that Mr Boardman knows what is an assault rifle.)
