[I think I'll start this sandbox off with another confirmation of the 'two separate worlds' notion that abets our progress toward the Great Divide. It is always good to climb up the taxonomical tree to see under which branch these individual dust-ups we dissect belong.
A futile exchange on Bob Crabb’s blog (here). Mr Crabb accuses Trump administration members of harboring ‘medieval beliefs’ and being “religious fundamentalists” and people who would lock up gays as “deviants”. Challenging him to provide proof, Bob comes back instead with citations of policies the administration backs as prima facie evidence that such sentiments could only have come from people harboring the detailed medieval beliefs. When I pointed out the difference between policies and the alleged belief systems, as his repartee I was accused of being just like the other medievals and religious fundamentalists, extremists who are “destroying this nation just as much as the extremists on the other side of the fence.” In support, this drew in Messrs Frisch and Anderson, two of our local leftwing's intellectuals, who had similar problems setting up the dots and then correctly identifying their connectedness. In the process I was again accused of being a “traitorous ideologue” who should find a home on other shores. gjr]

Hey, no one is forced to condone that which they consider deviate behavior. Some like it in the poop chute, most don’t. The “natural” law has been a male and a female have sexual intercourse and thus the human species continues. Kinda hard not to notice the way of the animal kingdom. Sure, there are test tube babies that have a womb with a view, but they are exceptions and even they need one little squirmy spermy (papa gun) and one egg (mama gun) to make a BB. Always one in every crowd.
It is miles from believing sodomy is not A-OK and discrimination. The law protects homosexuals from that sort of conduct as well as it should. It’s a non-issue except for the Muslims who just happen to be the biggest existential threat to the gay community wherever they be.
I myself acknowledge the things of the heart and figure a person hasn’t much say in who they fall in love with….but I would never demand another to feel the way I feel or see it the way I see it. Fish is right. The gays will be just fine. Heck, the gays have been tossed in the back of the bus ever since they are no longer the victim of the month now that BLM, Latinx Heat, and Transvestites have taken center stage. It’s their turn now. Just being bi or gay nowadays (or Redman) is a yawner. They had their moment in the spotlight and it’s onward to the next group that feels they have been victimized from the womb…or test tube.

In “National Lampoon’s Lemmings”, Farmer Yassur owner of the land the Woodchuck Festival of Peace, Love and Death was being held on (this was a Woodstock parody for the fuddies out there) says, “Long hair, short hair, what the hell’s the difference once the head’s blowed off”. Indeed.
That said, some people probably are not suited to filling combat roles and there are issues with gender dysphoria that could be seen as a counterindication. For example, from the VA (2013):
“Gender identity disorder is about five times more prevalent among VA patients than among the general population, and the rate of suicidal behavior among Veterans with the disorder is 20-fold that of the general VA population, according to a new study.”
In short, I don’t see how one could support a blanket acceptance of a gender dysphoric individuals for combat roles, or any other role without serious screening for suicidal tendencies. Twenty times that of the general VA population rings the danger bell for me.
