[I think I'll start this sandbox off with another confirmation of the 'two separate worlds' notion that abets our progress toward the Great Divide. It is always good to climb up the taxonomical tree to see under which branch these individual dust-ups we dissect belong.
A futile exchange on Bob Crabb’s blog (here). Mr Crabb accuses Trump administration members of harboring ‘medieval beliefs’ and being “religious fundamentalists” and people who would lock up gays as “deviants”. Challenging him to provide proof, Bob comes back instead with citations of policies the administration backs as prima facie evidence that such sentiments could only have come from people harboring the detailed medieval beliefs. When I pointed out the difference between policies and the alleged belief systems, as his repartee I was accused of being just like the other medievals and religious fundamentalists, extremists who are “destroying this nation just as much as the extremists on the other side of the fence.” In support, this drew in Messrs Frisch and Anderson, two of our local leftwing's intellectuals, who had similar problems setting up the dots and then correctly identifying their connectedness. In the process I was again accused of being a “traitorous ideologue” who should find a home on other shores. gjr]

Never push someone to come out of the closet. Never. It is a very personal decision and should only be made when that person is ready. Not when others are ready, but when the person is ready. You do not wish to spoil the big moment for the individual nor his/her coming out party.
With that said, I am hearing from more and more homosexuals who came out of the closet years ago that they are gay or lesbian by choice. Or, they are bi-sexual by choice and prefer to be in a lesbian relationship by choice. More and more I am reading such antidotal “testimonials”. After working in production in Hollywood many moons ago, I learned from my gay co-workers than the real flaming flaunting lisping gays are the ones just coming out of the closet and have not come to grips totally with their gay identity. After time has passed, they begin to act more “normal”, without the need to take every opportunity to broadcast to anyone and everyone within earshot that they are indeed gay. Part of the maturing process we all go through, gay or straight.
I mentioned this because if or when somebody comes out of the closet, be careful for what you wish for….for awhile. It’s like they can’t stop talking it about at first, complete with the fabulous hand movements. Things do have a way of leveling out. There are always exceptions.
I was wondering if anyone has taken offense to the term “bi”, as in bi-sexual. The word “bi” means two, as in bicycle, bimonthly, bifocal. Seems to me the term “bi” is in direct conflict with what is now being taught in our institutions of higher learning, i.e., that there are more than two genders. Last I looked it was up to something like 37 genders of the Homo sapien species of the human race…..aka, bipedal primate belonging to the mammalian species “homosapien” in the family Hominidae (the great apes).
So, if there are dozens of genders, is it nor time we drop the letter B from the LBGTQIA acronym. Bi implies there are only two genders. I would hate to offend anyone who believes there are 20 or 40 genders. That is just plain wrong. Using the term “bi” is soooo 1980’s and needs to come down quicker than a statue of Stonewall Jackson, IMHO.

No Walt I was in an aerial port squadron We used to unload caskets at Travis Air Force Base I did that for five years one weekend a month there was no colorguard greeting our boys getting back from Vietnam Was just cargo no ceremony Roll the aluminum body containers out of the airplane on to a transport vehicle that will drive them to the cooler That’s what I did during the war.

God Bless ya you po’ ol’ fakenewsman for working in mortuary affairs. Trust that those heroes got their proper graveside send off. Commanding an Honor Guard at funerals was very hard but satisfying in making sure the families were honored properly.
Take a minute and say a prayer for all ours lost and for the active duty in this time of war! 😉
