I was a bit surprised that Thomas Elias <tdelias@aol.com>, waxing on the evidence for inevitable climate change in the 21oct17 Union, never once mentioned even the existence of credited and credible scientists who dispute the hysteria of the True Believers. I suppose such admissions to the lightly read might discombuberate their carefully implanted opinions, and inadvertently open up directions of inquiry best left undisturbed. gjr]

Today The Union published Heidi Hall’s blood alcohol levels at 0.20 and 0.22, indicating that she was sailing three (maybe four) sheets to the wind in that parking lot – the Lord be praised that she didn’t get out on the road where real damage could have been done at highway speeds. In any event, since this incident has received a ho-hum pass at the hands of our local lefties and self-declared mid-roaders, has anyone seen in the public forum any damage that this revealing incident has done to her politically?

Democrats are protected by their own no matter the incident. Paul Emery’s support for Harvey Weinstein is a good example. Heidi Hall’ poor behavior will be brushed aside as evidenced by some of the comments on the Union article. And do not expect the local democrat party types to say anything but praise. Flying at our local airport you sometimes hear “Other traffic please advise”, uttered by an pilot as they are approaching a non-towered airport as part of their position and intention report. You see, if there isn’t a tower to coordinate, pilots do it. Everyone is trained in the protocols and they work well. You say what you are doing (take off or landing) and how you intend to do it. Another pilot whose path might conflict would be expected to chime in and say something like “Podunk traffic, Cessna 12345 is departing runway 29er straight out, will look for incoming Piper” which would tell the incoming Piper pilot what he needed to know whether he asked for other traffic to advise or not.
“Other traffic please advise” is especially in use by people who don’t monitor the frequency before they pipe up, and expect everyone to repeat themselves to make up for it. It’s such a bloody waste of bandwidth that there’s even a citation in the Airman’s Information Manual from the FAA that states it is not a valid position report and is never appropriate.
Paul, your pestering people to answer your challenges in your fishing for something to argue about are never appropriate. Make your point, and either someone will talk to you or they won’t.
