[The last sandbox was a bit overfull, other than that it appears that 'climate change' has again become the perennially misunderstood issue of interest du jour.  I was a bit surprised that Thomas Elias <tdelias@aol.com>, waxing on the evidence for inevitable climate change in the 21oct17 Union, never once mentioned even the existence of credited and credible scientists who dispute the hysteria of the True Believers.  I suppose such admissions to the lightly read might discombuberate their carefully implanted opinions, and inadvertently open up directions of inquiry best left undisturbed.  gjr]

Paul yaps this from that last sandbox..
“Pedophiles would be castrated and more than one victim they get the death sentence
Murderers get the electric chair, one appeal only
Drug dealers of kids, public pillory, and hanging
Infectious disease carriers, quarantine till no longer infectious
    Rapists of women, castrated
Rapists of men, same as for women”
And the problem with that is,,???

    Required reading for Paul

Pay special attention to THIS Paul.
“Duterte previously threatened in September to have his own son killed if he was caught distributing drugs, following his campaign promise to kill 100,000 people guilty of selling or making illegal narcotics.
“I said before my order was: ‘If I have children who are into drugs, kill them so people will not have anything to say,’” Duterte said in a speech in September.”

So Walt by your tone I take it you agree with Todd on those matters.
For example do you have any idea how many murder death sentences have been reversed after multiple appeals? A casual glance shows that 160 death row convictions have been overturned. Here’s details
Defendants must have been convicted, sentenced to death and subsequently either-
    a. Been acquitted of all charges related to the crime that placed them on death row, or
    b. Had all charges related to the crime that placed them on death row dismissed by the prosecution or the courts, or
    c. Been granted a complete pardon based on evidence of innocence.

Judi Caler writes an excellent piece explaining the difference between the Article 5 Constitutional Convention (‘Con-Con’) and the Convention of States (COS) being promoted now by a contingent of conservatives. It is also not surprising that these concepts are apparently hard to comprehend by our leftwingers.

So Breitbart’s chief ad former Trump top advisor Steve Bannon has this to say yesterday about Bush. We agree on this one. He contends Bush is even worse than Obama. Consistent with Trumps desire to impeach Bush when he was President.
“”There has not been a more destructive presidency than George Bush’s,” Bannon said during his dinnertime address at the convention banquet of the California Republican Party.”

I take what an anti death penalty website has to say with a grain of salt.(It must be true. It’s on the Internet.)
Still not good enough Paul.. Just like when I gave you a nice long list of killers who racked up big body counts.(ALL Lefties.)
Yet you think ONE right leaning killer trumps all of them. ( I guess you never looked up the meaning of “most”.)
Empty death row Paul, “If one innocent man….” Yaa yaa….
Go to any jail, and ask the inmates.. They are all innocent. Not a guilty one in the bunch.
Better end DWI arrests too. It never stops drunk driving.

    and this,
It was reported on June 10, 2017, that President Trump had signed 37 bills into law, more than each of the previous four presidents, and the U.S. House had passed 158 bills, “making it the most productive in the modern-era,” according to GOP House leaders.[22] Overall, the legislature was relatively productive by mid-2017.[23] An August 2017 Pew Research Center study found that the 115th Congress was more productive than any other Congress since 2007 and had the fifth highest count of substantive bills signed into law in the past 30 years.[24]

Sorry you two,, the Peanut vendor Carter and the Muslim “O” are the worst Presidents of all time.
Carter was just a naive, while “O” went out of his way to trash America.
No real blame ca be put on Bush, since all of D.C. was run by LIBS.
(that would be Nancy and Dirty Harry) Bush only signed what THEY put in front of him. So any blame you care to throw at “W”, will only stick to the LIBS.
But since Trump is now fixing what LIBs and “O” broke, sunny days will be here again.

new underground distribution line across most of PG&E’s territory costs about $1.16 million per mile, according to data filed with state regulators
a new overhead line, which costs about $448,800 per mile.
Prices rise within cities, where the work is more complex. A 2015 San Francisco report found that recent costs for moving power lines underground in Oakland had averaged $2.8 million per mile, while similar work in San Jose had cost $4.6 million per mile.

Political suicide or nothing to lose? NY Mag: The Issue That Could Lose the Next Election for Democrats
“Democrats in 2017, in general, tend to criticize the use of immigration enforcement, and tend to side with those accused of violating immigration law, as a broad matter of principle beyond opposing the particular actions of the administration … Democrats are no longer as willing to attack “illegal immigration” as a fundamental problem anymore.”
This is, to be blunt, political suicide. The Democrats’ current position seems to be that the Dreamer parents who broke the law are near heroes, indistinguishable from the children they brought with them; and their rhetoric is very hard to distinguish, certainly for most swing voters, from a belief in open borders. In fact, the Democrats increasingly seem to suggest that any kind of distinction between citizens and noncitizens is somehow racist. You could see this at the last convention, when an entire evening was dedicated to Latinos, illegal and legal, as if the rule of law were largely irrelevant. Hence the euphemism “undocumented” rather than “illegal.” So the stage was built, lit, and set for Trump.
He still tragically owns that stage. What Merkel did for the AfD, the Democrats are in danger of doing for the Trump wing of the GOP. The most powerful thing Trump said in the campaign, I’d argue, was: “If you don’t have borders, you don’t have a country.” And the Democrats had no answer, something that millions of Americans immediately saw. They still formally favor enforcement of immigration laws, but rhetorically, they keep signaling the opposite. Here is Dylan Matthews, also in Vox, expressing the emerging liberal consensus: “Personally, I think any center-left party worth its salt has to be deeply committed to egalitarianism, not just for people born in the U.S. but for everyone … It means treating people born outside the U.S. as equals … And it means a strong presumption in favor of open immigration.” Here’s Zack Beauchamp, a liberal friend of mine: “What if I told you that immigration restrictionism is and always has been racist?” Borders themselves are racist? Seriously?
The entire concept of a nation whose citizens solely determine its future — the core foundation for any viable democracy at all — is now deemed by many left-liberals to be a function of bigotry. This is the kind of madness that could keep them from power indefinitely.
    http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/10/the-issue-that-could-lose-the-next-election-for-democrats.html?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=s3&utm_campaign=sharebutton-t

BillT 701am – Kudos for a thoughtful and thought out contribution Mr Tozer. While in general agreement, my response to your last assertion is that the Democrats’ “madness” will keep them from power only if the electorate is smart enough to process the implications of their message about sovereign nation-states. There is no guarantee of that, which brings us back to Jefferson’s ‘A nation ignorant and free, that never was, and never shall be.’
