On the 23sep17 Unionโ€™s op-ed page there is a quarter page ad taken out by an outfit calling itself the Earth Justice Ministries.  From their own words (here) it appears that the EJM is a leftwing organization of progressives appealing to people of faith, mainly Christians, to join in the progressive agenda through the embrace of, you guessed it, social justice and sustainability.  The organization is geared to appeal to the lightly read who have no idea that progressives promote the long-established agenda of Cultural Marxism (here and here) today advancing under the new banner of Agenda21 and its metastasized ICLEIs (q.v.).  The hopeful nebbishes who come to support the EJM have no idea that the โ€˜religionโ€™ of progressives is a secular humanism that barely tolerates the opiate of the masses.

While claiming to work for โ€œthe transformation of the worldโ€, EJM cannot start to โ€˜fundamentally transform Americaโ€™ within the current sentiments of an educated and knowledgeable electorate.  Such an electorate must first be diluted, and this requires the addition of legions of unassimilated illegal aliens and double dummies which our already transformed educational system pumps out by the millions every year.

The EJM ad in Nevada County exhorts the reader to contact their MOCs to prevent the scheduled termination of Obamaโ€™s DACA next spring.  They position the ad as another โ€˜resist Trumpโ€™ piece in the โ€œclean passageโ€ of the new Dream Act of 2017.  This legislation is needed โ€œto protect our young and to resist attempts to target immigrants.โ€  Otherwise we will be headed for a redux of the Nazi Holocaust V2.0 right here in America.

This connection is made in the ad by reprinting Rev Martin Niemรถllerโ€™s famous, โ€œFirst they came for the communists, โ€ฆ, then they came for me โ€“ and there was no one left to speak out for me.โ€  Making this connection between Nazis and todayโ€™s American conservatives and libertarians is a particularly insidious piece of work in their composition, which nevertheless exposes the real ideology and purpose of their organization.

Using the Alinsky โ€˜accuse them of your sins firstโ€™ paradigm, progressives indict the classical liberals of seeking to turn America into a centrally controlled authoritarian state.  Nothing in the historical record or present-day initiatives supports this.  But with the ever-ignorant, the Alinsky approach is almost foolproof, and has an enviable record of success in the spread of Cultural Marxism.

As if by serendipity, in the same issue of The Union we have the editorial โ€˜Ready to Voteโ€™ contributed by the newspaperโ€™s Editorial Board.  In there the paperโ€™s sentiments about urging the ignorant and ill-prepared to vote are presented.  The piece recounts the recent presentation by California SecState Alex Padilla urging 16 and 17 year-olds to register to vote so that they automatically are eligible when they turn 18.  RR has a consistent record of covering the intellectual development of our youth, and by all measures that record is not pretty.  As the SecState noted, the 18-25 age group is the stateโ€™s largest voting block made up of Millennials and iGeners (q.v.).  The Union then asks, โ€œImagine if this age group voted as religiously as retirees. What shape would our county, state and nation take if that occurred?โ€

The editorial concludes with its own answer, โ€œPicture that โ€” an unregistered 18-year-old arriving at a vote center on election day. That person registers to vote on the spot and casts his or her first ballot within moments, participating in a fundamental act that helps make our country an amazing place to live. โ€ฆ No complaints here.โ€

Picture that indeed.

The left is apoplectic about the vote. Of course, they are losing all across America with the crazy ideas and actions so they must bring in fresh meat. They are so afraid of the Commission looking into voter fraud they scream “suppression” at every turn. Saw that today on CSPAN! But the people are coming around thanks to the liberals in our face every day on TV and their storm troopers, the ANTIFA thugs. Even those “kneelers” bring millions to our side. So thank you to these lefty nuts for their obvious overreaching and silly beliefs. They are filling the rolls with more Republicans.

Remember when the left was all up in arms about religious views being mixed with politics and how it would lead to certain theocracy?
No – I guess they don’t. Of course it was bogus like most everything the left comes up with. Deeply held beliefs that seem to come and go like little waves from the ocean.
From their website: “Earth Justice Ministries is an interfaith non-profit whose purpose is to bring the resources of faith to bear to build a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world.”
And just what are the ‘resources of faith’?
Oh, I know – I’m asking too many questions.
And who gets to define ‘just’? And what is ‘just’?
Say – here’s a resource of faith: 2nd Thessalonians 3:8 “We didnโ€™t eat anyoneโ€™s food without paying for it. Instead, we worked night and day with effort and hard work so that we would not impose on you.”
And 2nd Thessalonians 3:10 “Even when we were with you we were giving you this command: โ€œIf anyone doesnโ€™t want to work, they shouldnโ€™t eat.โ€
Does that work for you Earth Justice folks?
Actually Lenin exhorted his people with the same stuff, so please don’t bother me with excuses.
    Justice indeed.

EJM wants the same thing that neocon zealots masquerading as pious Bible thumpers want namely tax free status.

BunBun 837am – Could you please draw the parallel between Bible thumpers preaching their God’s word, and public policy ideologues like EJM?

I take it the only citizens qualified to vote are conservatives. Judging from the gerrymandering in the red states, Republicans are making sure that the “right” voters will prevail even if they are outnumbered.

The left always claims “gerrymandering” is only done by the right. But the Constitution says it is up to the states to determine their own course for electing Congresspeople. So it seems perhaps we may see a “Federalist” decision by the SCOTUS? And I get a kick out of the people sighting the California system with a “commission” by initiative. It was all about the left taking control. We have lost how many R districts?

DonB 334pm – Nope, ol’ RL (327pm) is right. One has never been able to detect any gerrymandering in blue states, nor can one make such a judgment now. Do you think if asked, he can explain how he was able “take it the only citizens qualified to vote are conservatives”? Then again, perhaps it has been fully explained on HuffPo or DailyKos or some such outlet. In any case, the statement is remarkable coming from a Californian who is deemed to track such issues.

Massachusetts has not had an R Congressman for decades. Yet they have 40% of the voters registered R. Why is that I wonder?

    Hmmm.
I take it the only citizens qualified to vote are conservatives. Judging…….by what is coming out of our government run public education system which is controlled lock, stock, and barrel by our disgruntled banana brain liberals, SJWs, and various assorted mental defects…..I would say RL Crabbman was simply making an observation of the state of the non-informed voter in this day and age.
