“My fear is if North Korea nukes us, Trump gonna get us into a war.”, Maxine Waters (D-CA). NAACP should really pull the plug on her, and that other congressman (Hank Johnson, D-GA) who feared that Guam would tip over and sink from over-population.

Paul Emery thanks for the link but honestly you really are desperate to say what you said about what Eric Trump said about his dad. Here it is.
““If they weren’t talking about you, you wouldn’t be doing something right and it’s important to keep it in context, otherwise quite frankly you’d probably end up killing yourself out of depression,” Eric Trump said. “But he’s doing a great job.”
Now please tell us all how you parsed this to make the claim you did? Really a stretch on your part. And the whole article was fine, you really have to have warped intellect to say what you said.

You are so right. When I hear the “both sides have good people” crap I think the same thing. Trump said that there were people there at the statue that were only there for that. They were who he was talking about. But the press morphed that into their fake news mantra that he is talking about the KKK and nazis.

The two Republican senators and 20 congressmen from Texas voted against aid for the victims of Superstorm Sandy because the money wasn’t offset with dollar-for-dollar cuts in other domestic spending.
Do you think they’ll make the same demand when it comes time to vote on aid for victims of Harvey? Probably not.

Texans are paying the piper now with explosions at chemical plants and their cities and homes stewing in a toxic hydrocarbon soup. I wonder is they are still loving the idea of the Bakken pipeline bringing in more petrochemicals to be processed and shipped overseas while they have to live with the pollution?
The Gulf of Mexico is already half dead from pollutants washed down the Mississippi.
The good news is that the Mexicans are coming to save the Texans. I wonder if they will be able to make it across the border. Somebody call Trump!
Where is the Bush tribe holed up?

Things I did NOT post recently: re: fashion bug.
A) The story of Melania Trump wearing a ballcap with FLOTUS printed across the cap. Twitter was going at it. She was wearing a hat that is on The Donald’s business website for profit, not for the Hurricane Harvey relief funds!!!!! GREED! Using the hurricane evacuees for personal enrichment!!!! The sky is falling.
Come to find out, President Trump’s USA hat is indeed for sale on the site, not the First Lady’s hat. Knockoffs can be found everywhere, including Craig’s list.
Comments ranged from she looks darling to “why is she walking behind Donald Trump departing the helicopter?” “She wears that hat because she cannot remember what her name is”. “She is behind him because she likes her nose up his butt” and in and on it goes. Not worth pasting links. No worth reading.
B) The story from the past when the fashion critics and us little people were so upset when Michelle Obama wore $495.00 snickers to pass out bags of food at a food bank. How inappropriate! Unseemingly. Tone deaf to the hungry’ plight.
I forgot how petty things can get, even during the Obama years. BTW, Melania wore $60.00 Adidas to Houston, if you care. I don’t and not worthy of RR.
2) Things I wished I posted, but did not, concerning the President and First Lady’s visit to Houston and not getting mud of her stilettos.

1) My recollection about votes on Sandy were this: Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tx) was opposed to Sandy relief bill because he pointed out specifically 2/3 of the funding contained had zero to do with the clear up, aftermath, or aid relief to those affected by Sandy.
2) Fish answered Boardman’s question nicely.

Wikipedia defines white nationalism is a type of nationalism which holds the belief that white people are a race and seeks to develop and maintain a white national identity. They define white supremacy as a subgroup of white nationalism whose adherents seek a white-only state because they believe that white people are superior to nonwhites.

Lets be honest….anyone who isn’t in lockstep with Plan Proglodyte is, in their eyes, a Nazi. What you’re seeing now is the utterance of terms not in common use (Alt Right, White Nationalist, Alt Lite, etc.) two years ago now being associated with Nazi in an attempt to stigmatize them. There have been many similar efforts in the past by the left, most recently associating the terms “Tea Party” and Tea Partier” with “Racist” and “Homophobe”.

Once again, Todd shows his selective “recollection” of the facts in his 10:13. Try recollecting this:
After the Texas gang couldn’t get dollar-for-dollar cuts in domestic spending, Cruz started claiming the bill was full of pork. If there was any pork in that bill, it was Republican approved pork because they controlled both houses of Congress then. I guess Todd didn’t recollect that.
Then there was Chris Christie, who was vilified by his fellow Republicans for thanking Obama for acting so quickly. So much for bringing the country together when a natural disaster strikes.
Now I see the governor of Texas wants to start the bidding at $125 billion. Those independent, resourceful Texans can be mighty resourceful with other people’s money.

Ben Emery once took great pains to educate posters here the difference between liberals and progressives. There is a true difference, but in general practice I lump them together. Likewise, I was curious to know what “Alt-right ” meant after watching a clip of Milo on a campus appearance roll his eyes and politely told the questioner from the audience that he is definitely not “alt-right”.
I posed the question to the readers here what Alt-Right means. I had been using the term loosely. Two readers posted this link…or a similar one.
http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/03/29/an-establishment-conservatives-guide-to-the-alt-right/
The term gets thrown around loosely, as does Nazi, Commie, Liberal. The White Supremists and Black Supremacists believe, as did the Nazis, in the superiority of one race over other races.. Don’t know about La Raza now. They use to be Supremacists.
In terms of what has happened in just the last 2 weeks alone, the Left has attempted to equate racists (or Nazis) with Trump with Trump supporters with anyone who voted Republican. If not a Nazi, then a Nazi/White Supremacist sympathizer. It gets all lumped into racism. Nazi is the new term for racism and vice versa.
The Left is making a strong push to make the word ‘Republican’ a supporter of racism, if not a overt racist. Hard to keep up.

“I posed the question to the readers here what Alt-Right means.”
It has changed quite a lot over time. At one point, it was thought of as a coalition of non-traditional conservatives, mostly internet based.
Example:
http://takimag.com/article/the_decline_and_rise_of_the_alternative_right
http://takimag.com/article/economism_in_the_alt_right/print
You can also see the difference in Wikipedia edits over the last couple of years. Wikipedia has it’s own agenda of course.
It’s a good catchy term, so you mostly see the White Nationalists co-opting it now. Depending on your point of view, those groups are either made up of the Caucasian version of the NAACP or are Nazis. A quick look at any essays they write should clear that up, although it’s best to get your news from other people. I’m having a heck of a time finding anything written by Richard Spencer, but I’ll cast around a bit.

“The 4 finalists for the concrete border wall prototypes”
You would think that would have been an ongoing design problem, it isn’t like there wasn’t a bunch of walls and barriers built already, and you definitely learn more with usage.
I’ve had the impression that the Obama administration just gave a wink and a nod to any border enforcement, while throwing the odd raw meat to people who are actually in favor of existing immigration law. The business with ‘increasing’ apprehensions while merely redefining the word was a nice case in point. I suppose that the physical system of border control has been starved of funds for years.
A really useful set of articles would be ones written by now-retired BP officers about their experiences over the last 20 years or so. It might have been worse or better than thought and might actually be more accurate than learning about such things at Infowars or the Daily Kos.
As GeorgeR mentioned before, an effective system will be a combination of physical barriers, car barriers, sensors, human beings, communications…ie more and better of what is there already. The point of an exercise like that is to lower border crossings to a desired level, not to eradicate them. This business of building a 12 foot ladder for the 10 foot fence is pure sophistry, no system needs to be 100% tight.

Absolutely, but it does work to a large extent for rallying the troops. I always thought how unfairly and rather nastily the Tea Partistas were dealt with given that it appeared to be a group mostly made up of very well-meaning older people. I suppose it was a good education in political reality for a bunch of civilized middle-class people.

So what happens if they decide to reopen or retry Bill Clinton’s BFF Mr Epstein? The wife isn’t there to protect him, darn the luck.

My group that consists of the “road association” has not met for a few years. It’s voluntary, which means take care of the part of road that is on your property….if you can. To me, that means a lot of thinking about how to fill a pothole and knocking down the grass along the lane no later than June 1st. You must be working for a real association with rules and by-laws, lol. Technically I am on a public road, so let the county do it…in my dreams. Ah, they probably would get lost. Don’t have no signs up, take your best guess…on how to find your way out of here. I might drive around Melody looking for some flag people. Add them to my collection of the white silhouette stick ” family” on the rear window, just like a white family does. :).

Here’s a bit of followup on Heidi Hall’s 0.22 breathalyzer reading… someone with a pilot’s certificate apparently has to submit a substance abuse evaluation if it’s .15 or higher. That will require you to locate a licensed counselor in substance abuse/dependence, or a psychologist or psychiatrist who has extra training in addiction medicine, and be evaluated. Depending on the results of the evaluation, you may be required to provide even more extensive (and expensive) evaluations. If your breathalyzer is less than the 0.15 percent, then you may need to do nothing else.
In short, the FAA seems to think that if you blow over .15%, you’re a habitual drinker until proven otherwise.
Supervisor Hall’s BAC is nearly 50% over the .15% limit for not having to really bare your soul to someone expecting you’ve been hiding that drinking you’ve been doing. Of course, she’s not flying an airplane. How much has she been drinking during the day…? Before voting as a Supervisor?
Local artiste Judith Lowry believes Hall to be a lady and has never seen her drinking to excesss… isn’t that special?

Oh, and until further notice if you’ve blown over the legal limit, your FAA medical certificate is effectively and immediately suspended until the FAA reinstates it, and the pilot is required to volunteer the information to the FAA within a few days of the arrest.
