No polls, just quotes….
First, before quotes, I ain’t in the least bit upset or concerned about Trump’s inspiring speech to the BSA Jamboree. Not a smiggen of alarm or nary a raised eyebrow. Heard it was a great speech all in all. Besides, a good Boy Scout is always prepared, unlike the exploding heads. Pop!, goes the weasel.
First quote goes to all the Deplorables out there who failed jump in line and carry the water for the fakenews mainstream press and, of course, our adorable little pouty face GL Parrot. Squawk, Squawk, SUAWK!! Paulie want a cracker.

Pretty darn simple. Simple yet so antithetical to the Dems and GLs. Kinda hard to be the party of the working stiff when all you do is cater to Limousine Liberals and the very poor.
“Democrats are more concerned with social tinkering and accommodating their liberal coalition than they are with doing anything that would foster real economic growth. And notwithstanding the usual homilies Democrats issue about needing an economy that works for the American people, all they offer are calls for more burdensome regulation, more handouts and more mandates from Washington. They simply can’t help themselves. Their anti-business bias comes through no matter how hard they try.
Remember, at a certain level, macroeconomics is pretty simple. You can raise taxes or lower taxes. You can increase regulation or decrease regulation. Government can be friendly to business or government can be hostile to business.”

” “A Better Deal” comes from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) via an op-ed in The Post. Pelosi writes: “We will demand that proposed mergers meet tough new standards to protect competition before approval, and will institute post-merger reviews to ensure that consolidated companies keep their promises to American consumers.” What? Can you imagine what the “post-merger reviews” would entail?
We all know what the Democrats really want to do. They want every business to be a “safe space” with gender-neutral bathrooms and HVAC systems that meet the artificial standards set forth by their global climate crusaders. They want to impose more diversity grievances on businesses, and they want private businesses to be just viable enough so that trial lawyers and unions can suck the life out of them.”

I’m afraid the evidence for falling sea levels is a bit thin at the moment. There’s a trend line that is pretty constant at 3.4mm/yr, and everytime the data jumps up the Warmistas are heralding the beginning of the end as we know it, and everytime it drops the heretics go “see see, it’s dropping!”. I think the chances are good for levels to drop in the future if one expects the solar indirect effects of Svensmark & Co will give us a repeat of the Maunder Minimum in the coming years, but we aren’t there yet.

California secession campaign can start gathering signatures
A group that wants California to secede from the United States can start collecting signatures for its ballot initiative.
The state attorney general issued an official ballot measure title and summary Tuesday. The campaign can now start gathering the more than 585,000 signatures it will need to qualify for the 2018 ballot.
The initiative would form a commission to recommend avenues for California to pursue its independence and delete part of the state constitution that says it is an inseparable part of the U.S. The measure would also instruct the governor and California congressional delegation to negotiate more autonomy for the state.

I remember when my LA Times was getting ripped off on a regular basis in the 80’s… I’d call for a replacement, which I’d usually get in time to read that day but it was a bloody pain in the arse… as the papers were left right in front of the door of the townhouse.
One day, I woke up early to walk the dog, and a neighbor cutie was coming home on her bicycle. Said hi as she walked by me in what passed for the front yard, past my door and she stopped, picked up my paper began to move and then stiffened… yes, that was my door, I was watching, she put the paper back down and it never was stolen again. Not a word was exchanged.

Russ. Hmmm. Apparently California’s new secession map will look like Swiss cheese. With all the BML land and national forests here, they will just have to be property of a foreign nation inside the new nation. Plus the 300,000 Federal workers in CA will be out of a job and will need to be replaced by the new nation’s workforce. Beale AFB and the others will have to be closed, along with the naval base/military dependent economy of San Diego.
The real silver lining is that the USA will lose 30% of its welfare rolls in the blink of an eye and the US Congress and Senate will have less Crying Dems breathing Washington DC’s air. Guess I will move on, but not before I witness the USA fencing off all the national forests, BLM land, and nat’l parks in the former State of California and tell the new nation’s populace to keep the hell out, this ain’t your land. ID required. It belongs to the people of the United States of America, every inch of federal land from the Mohave to the Oregon border. Roads through Federal land will be toll roads, thank you very much. Secede!
If the new nation gets all uppity and condescending as they always do, I will gladly join the lightening surprise assault on the Sancuary City by the Bay. Afterall, we Americans are such colonialists and rather like it. We big, you small. Drive ’em to the sea and maybe a couple kilometers pass shoreline.

The internationally infamous Evergreen State of the no white people day fiasco is getting sued. The oh soooo PC ‘administration’ that abdicated any control of the campus and did not let the school police protect people from the BLM anitfa roving gangs is the target of the suit.
Its not the usual antifa, BLM crowd as we normally see but its the left wing professor who questioned the idea of enforced race restrictions even if for 1 day. I have not read the full filing but would guess the admin telling him he couldn’t teach his regular classes because they could not protect him (while at the same time telling the cops to stay in their offices) and 1st amendment issues, employment conditions….
While a few million to pay off this suit is no big deal to Evergreen State its the history of these things like Mizzo losing a massive part of its incoming student base that is the real world penalty. Parents voting with their dollars is the best penalty. Well that and reducing the number of kids being indoctrinated.
How about that rally tonight? 😉

Don, got an e-mail tonight from WA State. No, not from near Evergreen State College where the county’s new housing director attended back when. This was from a Red district.
The gist of the e-mail is the Gov signed a law and as of today it is illegal to drive while texting (no problem here), illegal to hold a cell phone while driving (ok, can live with that, reduces the temptation to answer calls or text), illegal to smoke cigs while driving, and illegal to drink water while driving. Hmmm. Drinking water can be hazardous to your health. The prior laws where you can be cited for texting only if you were pulled over for another violation/offense. Now they can get you for drinking water or puffing on a stogie while operating a motor vehicle. And they are looking for it and watching you.
Knew someday they would ban someone from smoking in their own car. Just did not know what package it would come in. Guess you can pull over and light up and have a sip of water on a hot summer’s day in the ole Jeolopy during a heat wave totaling down the long lonesome highway.

“Minimum wage increases may be bad for workers who lose their jobs as a result, but they are good for overpaid state government employees who are paid a multiple of the minimum wage. Minimum wage increases cost taxpayers money by driving up their wages. California’s legislative analyst projected in 2016 that increasing the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour would cost taxpayers $3.6 billion more a year in increased government worker pay. This is partly because state government employees sometimes have their pay set as a multiple of the minimum wage, meaning they don’t have to be poor to benefit from a minimum wage increase.
Even in high-wage areas, a $15 minimum wage can wipe out jobs. A June 2017 study found it was unaffordable for many businesses even in prosperous Seattle, Washington. As the Washington Post noted, those employers “cut their payrolls, putting off new hiring, reducing hours or letting their workers go.” The “costs to low-wage workers in Seattle outweighed the benefits by a ratio of three to one, according to the study,” which was conducted by economists at the University of Washington. It estimated that “the average low-wage worker in the city lost $125 a month because of the hike in the minimum.”

Huh. Clever.
I get depressed being a prey animal sometimes, but you to have to admire a fine sleek predator when they are good at their job. It’s not dissimilar to the .gov pay two-step that consisted of getting better benefits (pensions, etc.) because you don’t make as much money as reg’lar folks, and then asking for higher pay because you don’t make as much money as reg’lar folks. Brilliant.
In terms of driving while hydrating (DWH?) I wouldn’t be surprised if having a child in the car was more dangerous than smoking or watering, perhaps even than using a hands-off cell. It’s not politically viable, but perhaps the mandatory automotive Skinner Box for Kids might be introduced as a bill, keep them quiet and keep them occupied.
In other matters, it’ll be interesting to see if there’s an anti-Trump news dump today in an effort to bury the Awan / Wasserman-what’s-her-name story. There’s bound to be something in reserve.

Scenes, I remember when the Boy Scouts were denied a permit for campout in a Santa Cruz park. The reason stated by the great city leaders is the bar-b-ques and a campfire would pollute the air. The following weekend the city permitted the park to be used for a great American Pot Smoke Out. The city leaders had a brief dilemma on their hands. Since smoking was banned in the park, oh what to do, what to do? Solution was to allow pot smoking in the park by the hundreds of attendees while upholding the ban on smoking tobacco and the BSA . It’s for the saving our environment for our children.

HuffPo is a fine place for you to hide out over the next four to eight years. Enjoy the solace.

Damn Cross,,, some people just can’t understand a joke. Is that a Liberal thing?
It’s been proven Liberalism is caused by a recessive gene. Being unable to comprehend when one is joking must be another symptom of that LIB disorder.

Another bullcrap lightweight oversimplification from you, overstating any rational case that could be made for a pause of sea level rise that has been keeping close to a 3.4mm/yr rise since somewhere after the end of the little ice age in the middle 19th century.
It may keep steady, dip or rise in the coming months. Or all three. There is no sure bet at this time.

That’s really new.” —Jonathan Gruber, the mastermind behind the biggest lie of all: The (Un)Affordable Care Act”
