   Daniel Coats, the director of national intelligence, said Friday there is no dissent inside U.S. intelligence agencies about the conclusion that Russia used hacking and fake news to interfere in the 2016 presidential election — despite comments by his boss, President Donald Trump, that have seemed to cast some doubt about the unanimity.

   No, not for reckless driving:

   According to the criminal complaint, Promvongsa tailgated and accelerated at the car of an off-duty police officer, Colby Palmersheim, who had “prior police contacts” with Promvongsa.
   Palmersheim reported that he drove to the location of another off-duty police officer, Mark Riley, and said that he “believed Promvongsa was attempting to harm him.”
   Promvongsa allegedly drove between the two off-duty officers’ cars at high speed before pulling back up to their cars and telling them that “he was going to go get his boys and come back to get them,” according to the complaint.

   Promvongsa faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all counts. The ACLU has their video raking in the donations but hasn’t committed to providing funds for Promvongsa’s defense.

   Kiddo, I hate to break it to you, but everybody uses hacking and fake news.
   The funny thing is that ‘fake news’ (and the legal version of hacking) has now been redefined as ‘meddling’. State sponsored broadcasters, like RT (or BBC) are now cheating somehow, if the result is not the one desired. It’s interesting watching the ’17’ intelligence agencies play everyone like a fine violin with this new definition.
   Oddly, the one party that used the least of this type of thing was Trump. Political bloviating on the stump to be sure, but nothing like the general organized crookedness of the DNC or the national press corps. It’s one guy with an airplane, and a remarkable ability to speak off-the-cuff. Amazing, really. The immune system of Western Civilization kicks in, perhaps too late, but it was fun to watch.
   Hang on, there’s still some chance that he’ll crash and burn. When (and if) it happens, the joyous humping of the couch can begin.

    The whole Russia, Russia, Russia thing was a setup by the lefty Democrats to discredit Trump during the election, and then after Hillary lost, Russia, Russia, Russia became the excuse for a bad campaign by a bad candidate, who was assured by fake polls she was a sure winner. The Democrats started to believe their lies. Tragic! Trump is President and will be for at least the remainder of his term.

    Paul, what is the definition of “meddling” in the criminal code? I doubt there is a precise meaning in the law. What does it mean to meddle?
    Here you go, Paul. Meddle means:

    to interfere in or busy oneself unduly with something that is not one’s concern.

    synonyms: interfere in/with, butt in/into, intrude on/into, intervene in, pry into; informalpoke one’s nose in, horn in on, muscle in on, snoop into, stick one’s oar in, kibitz in
    “don’t meddle in my affairs”

    Yes, indeedy, the Russians have been doing that for years. Snooping. So have the Chinese, the Koreans (mostly northern, I expect), Israelis, probably even Macedonian school kids playing in their basements with hacking software. “Meddling” does not mean what you want it to mean, Paul.
    What it doesn’t mean is that even one vote legally cast in our elections were miscounted or changed by Russian action.
    I recall Angela Merkel got a brand new secure mobile phone when it got outed that we’d been tapping phone calls by the Chancellery for decades. Merkel even compared the NSA to the (sogennante) DDR’s Stasi to Obama’s face.

    Wait, what a brilliant idea! Charge the losers. Stand participatory democracy on its head. Make all votes out in the open and charge the costs back to everyone who voted for the losing measure or candidate.
    Or maybe just leave things as they are and be happy someone didn’t just ram any controversial measure through without a vote. Be thankful, Paul, that DB and others didn’t leave an out for the small fraction of mota sales that are bona fide medical uses, and that the pro forces actually found a cute kid as their poster boy.

    He’ll be back, Paul. It isn’t necessarily embarrassment causing him to avoid you being an ass about it with a phony 1-2 punch. With just a bit of adjusting for medical needs I expect W would have passed, but having a cute and ill po’ kid as the poster boy for No, and not the locust trimmigrants and stoner growers, meant it passed.
    Blue county? It’s half and half and with energy costs slated to keep growing to pay for the bullet train to nowhere and vastly underfunded public employee pensions, the folk in Nirvana County will keep bleeding dollars for Sacramento.     Good article. It’s interesting to see all the scrabbling around for just any old way at all to keep the border open. Some are bound to be pretty tricky (ie. let’s buy all new Border Patrol buildings instead of hire officers).
    It’s part of that one-two punch of revelations that has just recently occurred to the typical schlub voter who never paid attention beforehand.
    . National media is totally in the bag for the political Left and will do/say anything to help that cause.
    . There never ever was any intention by the Left to control the boundaries of the US. The more the merrier, especially if they look like you.
    It has been really interesting watching the real intentions come to light. It’s as if somebody shipped out 100M of those sunglasses that Roddy Piper used in ‘They Live’.

    I wonder sometimes what our posters from Team Blue really think about this sort of thing. I could make a few guesses, but perhaps there’s some other philosophy here.
    1) Donald Trump is the anti-Christ, therefore whatever it takes to remove him is OK. The ends justify the means.
    2) The media is unbiased, it’s just that everything about DJT is bad and they are merely reporting it.
    3) Radio silence on the matter.
    In the long run, I expect it won’t matter. The long lingering death of broadcast TV and print newspapers continues apace.
    I would love to see what Mr Frisch has to say. Green Libertarians? Not so much. I assume that the GL’s are a chatbot run from a server in Bluffdale.
