For people whose work is the written word, reporters can be stunningly indifferent to what words actually mean. onthecommons.org

George Rebane

California is now a one-party state, as recognized by everyone in the land (more here).  The Democrats have sealed their decades-long control with an uncontestable supermajority in the legislature, and dominate all state elective offices.  Now they can really get to work on vacuuming up other people’s money to insure their autocracy.  The student of history knows that tyranny is the most stable form of governance – it just renews itself with a series of new cliques of elites that displace the old.

The latest attempt to derail the Trump administration has now fastened on Trump Jr’s meeting with a Russian lawyer last summer.  Since there’s no there there, the media has been reduced to reporting what other media are reporting about the inconsequential meeting.  But then, posit that the lawyer could have given Trump Jr some actual (not alleged) dirt on Hillary.  Would it not have been only proper, but also long-established protocol, for an opposition party to use that in a political campaign?  Our country has meddled in exactly the same way in other countries’ elections – it’s all a popular and classic game of thrones.  Aren’t we all glad that we found out about Hillary’s servers making classified information criminally available to the world, and the DNC emails conspiring to screw Bernie?  If Trump did something criminal, we would all want to know; but continuing an expanding number of investigations that will be halted only when all allegations have been proven is more than a bit beyond silly.

Compassionate secession by our Left is the constructive advice of America’s liberals as highlighted under ‘Healthcare from Hell’.  Since we can’t see ourselves letting illegal aliens die in the streets, and we won’t seal our borders, their only counsel is for America to slowly succumb to the onslaught of unassimilating mass migrations across our open borders.  Achieving Agenda21’s post-American globalism with no fuss or muss.

[12jul17 update]  The lamestream and Dems have tacitly admitted that the ongoing Russia investigations have so far been pursuing a will-o’-the-wisp.  The enthusiasm and excitement with which they have fastened on to the blatantly inconsequential TrumpJr meeting, while completely ignoring their formerly ‘substantial allegations’, lends credence to the fact that so far they had nothing, and that this latest revelation is all that’s left with which to bring down the Trump administration.  One of our left-leaning readers has diagnosed that only “God knows what dirt the Russians have on Trump.”  If he is correct, perhaps continuing the investigations from a house of worship will be more conducive to their speedier conclusion through divine revelation.

[13jul17 update]  Reading about all the political attacks and politically correct proscriptions happening across the country, added on to what thoughts and speech are already prohibited as being at least 'micro aggressions', does anyone else have the feeling that we are starting to reprise the age (1478 – 1834) of the Spanish Inquisition??

Speaking of inquisitions, now we can generate totally fake videos of people saying things in their own voice that they never actually said.  All that using new technology developed at the University of Washington (more here).  Talk about producing some real convincing fake news that will convince millions that a targeted person is culpable of something totally fabricated.

The media are rabid dogs. I watched and listened to them and the montages of their frothings and it is amazing that grown educated people could act and talk like a five year old. Trump Jr. did nothing unlawful or even uneti=hical yet the media thinks it is treason. No one believes thos media fools anymore.

    Seriously?
Besides the fact that the Trump campaign has serially lied to the American people about meeting with representatives of the Russian government, laid bare by Donald Jr,s self released e-mails; Kushner and Manafort lied; they all failed to disclose these meetings on security forms; they broke campaign finance law by agreeing to take a meeting to receive information from a foreign entity (the fact that no information of value was relayed which we don’t actually know it has simply been asserted by Jr.).
Not unethical? I find it amazing that you do not believe that receiving information as part of the “Russian government effort to help Mr. Trump” is unethical.

See what I mean readers? Frisch lies right out of the box parroting the lamestream media. The gal lawyer was not a Russian government rep. The meeting was asked for by a British publicist who the Trump’s knew from the Miss Universe contest that was held in Moscow years before. No collusion, no graft and nothing taken from the meeting with the lawyer. But you can all see the way the left tries to spin everythimg as some nefarious act without any proof.
JR released all the email string so we can all see the issue and read it for ourselves.
Last, Frisch say campaign laws were broken but that too is a lie and untrue. Money has to change hands. None did. And not even any information on Clinton was passed as the gal lawyer used that as a ruse to get the meeting. But Frisch defends Clinton’s partnership with the government of Ukraine as they worked together to get dirt on Trump. As well as Frisch supporting the Clinton sale of20% of American uranium by Clinton to the Russieians. Not a peep.

On June 3 at 10:36 AM, Rob Goldstone to Donald J. Trump Jr. wrote:
“The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”
    The Crown prosecutor of Russia:

The point that nothing was gained as you say from the meeting, which we do not know, the question is intent. The intent is illegal and not disclosing the meeting (by Kushner) is illegal.
Finally, money does not need to change hands for a campaign finance violation to have been committed. If anything of value including PR vape changed hands it is illegal, and meeting with the intent to exchange anything of value is also illegal.
I have taken no position here or anywhere else supporting the sale of uranium….I defy you to find that 🙂

Yes Rob Goldstone wrote those emails. And who was he? A British publicist who knew Trump from the Moscow Miss Universe Contest. Goldstone wrote the emails. Not Trump. You really are stretching the limits of intelligent analysis.

Conservative Steve Hayes pointed out on Fox News Report that while there was no crime committed by Trump Jr., the fact that a major player in a presidential campaign would willingly go to a meeting with someone who claimed to be affiliated with the Russian govt. to get dirt on their opponent and then NOT report it to the Federal B.I. was at the very least, stupid and a sad commentary on today’s politics.

rlcrabb 1112am – Agreed. That some people in such high places still don’t know that ALL emails are eventually in the public domain, instantly in a government database, and prima facie evidence in an investigation and/or court is to me beyond belief. How did they survive to get to such lofty heights in the first place? I think TrumpJr may have led a life too-sheltered by his father.

Oh well, public urination is a problem too, but I didn’t see a call for Jimmy Carter’s impeachment because of his boorish brother (for that matter, it never stopped LBJ).

The only person who said anything about the meeting being with a “government” person was the British publicist. And the gal denies she was. So that is not on JR. But we see the hysteria again.

Earl Crabb, Steven Hayes is a conservative Never Trumper, expect him to be grinding that axe; he’s in the Pence camp. I agree with him there’s no crime there.
So, who in the Obama Administration’s FBI would Donald Jr. one report that to, if he thought that might be a good idea? The same FBI the DNC didn’t trust to examine their computers to after the supposed hacking by Russians? Or maybe someone more trustworthy next on the food chain, like Atty General Lynch?

Looks like the Russian lawyer gal was a employee of the fake Trump pee on the bed story. And now pictures ahve surfaced of her sitting next to the obama rep during the hearings on Russia/Ukraine. Looks like the DNC and Hillary/Bernie are now part of this.
Also Alan Dershowitz and the Turly law professor say NO CRIME! So you libs will be eating that crow again. LOVE IT!

On topic. Oh yes. Quotes from the current news cycle: Frothing Dems and fakenews men:
    1)
The bottom line: “In the heat of your father’s presidential campaign, a bozo British publicist e-mails you to set up a sitdown with a ‘Russian government attorney’ promising ‘documents and information’ to ‘incriminate Hillary’ courtesy of the ‘Crown prosecutor of Russia’ as ‘part of’ the Russian government’s ‘support’ for dad — and you eagerly take the meeting. … Democrats and the media are frothing to find something criminal in it all, with the most unhinged talking treason. What it clearly was, was criminally stupid.” —New York Post
    2)
For the record: “Here’s the truth: Trump isn’t a conspiratorial mastermind. He’s a man irked by empty criticisms and dedicated to kicking his enemies in their most vulnerable areas. Sometimes that looks like he’s reinforcing their theories. He isn’t. So long as the media insist that Trump is someone he isn’t, they’ll keep finding conspiracies that don’t fit the facts or the personality.” —Ben Shapiro
    3)
And last… “Unlike Hillary Clinton, the IRS or the State Department, at least Donald Trump Jr. can find his emails!” —Gary Bauer

    July 12 Update:
The thing I don’t like about the frothing fakenews man and assorted exploding heads over the Russian Collusion Story of the Century is it always gets back to My Gal. To be frank, I am sick and tired of looking at her mug and listening to that gawd awful voice. The only thing worse would be to see Crankles naked. That is one image nobody should ever have burned in their brain. Cruel and unusual punishment. With all the trigger warnings in place, another story about My Gal:

    Russia baiters and Putin haters
“During the Cold War, every president sought detente with a USSR that was arguably the most blood-soaked regime of the century.
When the Cold War ended in December 1991, the Soviet Union had dissolved into 15 nations. Moscow had given up her empire, a third of her territory, and half the population of the USSR. Marxist-Leninist ideology was dead. An epochal change had taken place.
Yet hostility to Russia and hatred of Putin seem to exceed anything some of us remember from the worst days of the Cold War.
Putin’s Russia is called imperialist, though Estonia, next door, which Russia could swallow in one gulp, has been free for 25 years.”
