Our irrepressible yet lovable port-side cartoonist RL ‘Bob’ Crabb offers his latest in the 1jul17 Union which I have filched and included here for your edification and entertainment.
Sadly, as time has passed, Bob has seen less and less to like about what he finds in these pages. But what the above graphic commentary clearly illustrates is that he has not taken the time to carefully examine RR’s pro/con debate on the county’s homeless, and the result is his fairly crass characterization of the opinions expressed here.
In particular, he has ignored our discussions of affordable vs low-cost housing, universal national income, wealth redistribution, education, apprenticeship training, and non-profit service corporations for a start. I submit that nowhere on the NorCal blogosphere save RR are such issues materially debated with all sides weighing in with opinions ranging from the admirably considered to the crudely contentious. But then again, it is so much easier to convey the polarized leftist view, than to see things from his claimed mid-road perch – a point on the ideological waters akin to the lukewarm, weed-clogged Sargasso Sea – from which the futile search continues for communicable tenets that are relevant in the national debates.
