The insanity of permitting/inviting people known to believe in the abrogation of the US Constitution and the government upon which it is founded is now beyond doubt.  The Democrats in Sacramento are either terminally stupid or no longer seek to hide the existential truth that they want to do away with America – or according to their preferred bullshit phrase, “fundamentally transform America”.  Communism was and still is a socio-political ideology whose basic aim and organizing principle is to achieve a worldwide collectivist government that controls all resources, production, and consumption by a compliant population that altruistically benefits humanity through its class memberships, and most certainly not through individual enterprise exercised by a free people in a liberal society.  (see also here and here, and Bob Crabb's version here)

Sacramento’s recent initiative to permit communists to hold public offices in California is just the latest corroboration of the progressivists’ hate for everything good that America has stood for and accomplished in its short history.  Previously established evidence along the same lines includes their precipitous destruction/dilution of American culture by promoting the influx of unnumbered illegal aliens, their subsequent legitimization, and their contribution to our ‘multi-culturalism’ by ensconcing themselves in unassimilated conclaves.

The next destructive objective is already visible in our Left’s refusal to acknowledge the global threat of the perhaps not so radical Islamists.  They have made this clear in their virulent opposition to any reliable means to vet the intentions and background of foreigners seeking to enter the country as immigrants or visa holders.  And any notion of basing immigration policy on America’s interests – say, workforce needs and/or social costs – is simply anathema to a politically correct liberal.

Communist governments have filled the historical record as the deadliest of all scourges for their own citizens.  Not counting war-related casualties, these collectivist tyrannies have slaughtered over two hundred million of their own.  By any measure, the imposition of human misery continues overwhelmingly in countries under the control of collectivists of every flavor ranging from communists through the various thugocracies to fundamentalist Islam.  And our Left is hellbent on driving America down one of these roads.

Excellent commentary George! Progressivism is just another word for central planning, the crux of collectivism. It is remarkable to me that so many in California has such reliance and trust in their government.

Oh, Mr. Anderson wounded me. Another Crazy California Commie shows what he’s got. No worries. Hillary ain’t going anywhere and now that No Drama Obama has been groomed and rewarded, I expect a lot more whipping ’em the streets and chanting Death to Trump!
What is up with our Crazy California Commies and their obsession with ATMs, patio umbrellas, and Starbucks windows? Weird addiction, but to each his own.

Bob, I don’t think young (just a guess) Mr. Anderson’s biggest problem is his facility with elementary English grammar.
Cooler heads have already figured if there was a there, there for the Trump Russian rumors, some real evidence would already have been leaked by deep state Democratic Party partisans. The plural of “rumor” is not “facts”.
Reality, what a concept. I know DiFi’s recent clear statement that there’s zero evidence of Trump collusion with the Russians during the campaign was hard to take, but it does appear that only mad dogs and “progressives” go out in the Noon Day sun nowadays.

“Tell me about the millions of dead humans that the communists in America killed. Try to stay on subject.”
Ah – they weren’t Americans so who cares?
Because we fought against it and didn’t allow it here is why Americans are safe against communism. American communists tried to cover up and lie about what happened in China and Russia as well as other countries enslaved by communism.
So why is it important to allow California tax dollars to hire avowed communists?
“Time to switch (not to communism, but give up on Trump), or die a fool.”
    Ooooh – I’m a-shaking in my booties!
    How is Trump ‘anti American’?
And when and why am I to die a fool?
What is it I’m supposed to ‘switch’ to?

Can you be specific about tho you believe is a California communist. Is Jerry Brown a communist? Is Heidi Hall a communist? Is Dianne Feinstein a communist? Am I a communist? Is Steve Frisch a communist?
I can go on and on but this is a good start.
This is your description of communism and I assume communists

We use “communist” the way you progressive democrats use “fascist”….or “racist”…..or “sexist”……or “nativist”…..or “homophobe”…..(my you guys do have quite the list) it serves as a general purpose political label/insult divorced from the definitional meaning!
I did dig of course that this post like virtually all of your others opens with you assigning somebody else something to do!

PaulE 1006am – My beliefs about the political/ideological stance of the people you name has been topically covered here over the years. Calling someone specific a communist would contribute nothing to our current discussion; suffice that we continue to point out when one of these worthies takes yet another step closer to radical collectivism (or communism, if you will). But I do sense that you would like to divert from California’s pending legislation to debating the attributes, identities, and number of the communists referenced in the bill. I agree with ToddJ (1048am) that such inquiries should be made in Sacramento.

Paul – the question isn’t ‘who’s a commie?’ – it’s ‘why, with all of the problems facing California, is it now important to spend legislative resources to make sure the state of California be able to use tax dollars to hire people who are direct enemies of the Constitution?
Exactly who does the bill’s author have in mind?
Or does it just seem to the author of the bill that we could use a lot more commies to help run the state into the ground at a greater clip than ever?

You use the words “more commies” to clarify that there are commies now in the state government. Who specifically are you referring to George? that’s a totally reasonable question.

There probably should just be a Supreme Court ruling on this matter and be done with it. I spent a few minutes researching the history of anti-Communist laws (both federal and state) and really can’t get up the strength to care whether an officially registered member of a party with that word in it should be precluded from government work or an office. Obviously, you’ll have more Communists than classical Fascists (not the modern kind that seems to include anyone you don’t like) working in publicly funded gigs since they are better at promising stuff to the Free Shit Army, but it just doesn’t sound threatening to me.
The more general case of people who belong to an organization that wishes to violently bring down the government (the various Antifas for example) is an interesting one and probably harder to prove.
To help you keep part of this straight:

The more scary thing tends to be the free flow between power and money (and back), but that’s a problem that has existed since large human groups were first formed. Of course Susan Rice, Nancy Pelosi, the Clinton Mafia, Algore, etc. are going to be rich, and of course the Soros Clan, Kochs, Bushs, Kennedys, etc. will have political power. ‘Twas always thus. I assume that you’ll see a higher amount of institutional corruption as we are more visited by the blessings of diversity, but that’s a side effect you can expect.

Bullet Train Slowed by Federal Environmental Reviews
Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday appealed to President Trump for help on the California bullet train, which would connect Los Angeles and San Francisco. Brown’s letter asks the president to transfer federal oversight of environmental reviews on the $64-billion project to the state rail authority. Ralph Vartabedian in the Los Angeles Times$ — 5/13/17

Ah, the bullet train is having trouble meeting the Federal Environmental standards, so Governor Brown, who never rejected a California environmental regulations, wants to take the fox out of the henhouse and put her with the grub rooting pigs. I hope Trump responds with a go pound sand reply, let the Governor sweat just like all the small business in California do when the Cal EPA shows up at the door.
