[One of our daughters is visiting this weekend and we decided to take in the gun show at fairgrounds today. The entire show fit into the Amaral Center and was very well attended; in fact there were actually too many people there back to back and belly to belly. But the show itself was a bit sad – not enough shooting hardware. No major manufacturers showing off their line, the reason being that gun makers are not sending as much of their new stuff to California to be put through the regulatory and testing hoops to make sure they are up to snuff in a state that really wants to confiscate every last gun from civilian hands. Another sign of the times. gjr]

Thanks Gregory, kind of figured that but that just means they are ripping you off. With breadcrumbs you at least know what your getting before the fact. Right now the new KFC hot rocks it on the big boneless breast strips.

For a disgusting experience, read the ingredients in pork chorizo from traditional US makers. For some, pork salivary glands are the only part of the pig that makes it in there.
Yum! Makes for a tasty huevos con chorizo but only if you don’t think about it much.
Same brand I’m thinking of also has a TVP version, not as tasty but probably better for you.

You should ask a local guy…..runs a business council I understand.
He can probably clue you in to how much at costs to prepare CAP documents…..at no direct cost to the taxpayers…..but that entities (business/municipal governments) need to be eligible for grant money. Grant money which I’m pretty sure faeries or pixies create out of thin air!

For your morning reading pleasure. Trump is now tied in Rasmussen polling, down eight points in a week. He now leads in no major polls and is down an average of 7%. Terrible standing, the worst in history for a newly elected.

BillT 1107am – Mr Tozer, collectivism in all of its manifestations (communism, socialism, liberalism, progressivism, …) has been a fraud ever since Karl Marx explained it in his Das Kapital.
PaulE 1005am – Enough Paul. Here’s your opportunity to put a little money in your pocket. Starting with tomorrow, President Trump will have 1,055 days left in office for his first term. If he is impeached and convicted, or resigns under political duress, I will pay you the amount in dollars that equals the numbers of days that he did not serve out his current term as president. However, if he completes his current term and leaves office on 20 January 2020, then you will pay me 1055/2 = $527.50. As an example, if under these conditions Trump’s successor is sworn in on 6 June 2018, I will pay you $593. Capice? From the copy that you have been putting out for months and months, it looks like you will make a bundle. Time to put your money in the ol’ pie hole. Offer expires 1159pm 3 March 2017. What say you?

PaulE 1255pm – Well, my 1113am outline of the bet would have you pay since it would be hard to establish the cause of heart attack or any other debilitating malady. To date your TDS has focused on his being explicitly ousted through some kind of due process that would make continuing in the presidency impossible (e.g.convicted) or ill-advised (e.g. resignation because of a number of causes). But to sweeten the bet, let’s make it so that leaving office because of a physical malady will invalidate the bet – neither owes the other anything. OK?

it’s well established that what Trump really wants to do is gut or shut down the EPA. thought you knew that. Here’s the bill he supports:
Republican-backed legislation to eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is definitely one of the shortest bills Congress has dealt with in a while.
“The Environmental Protection Agency shall terminate on December 31, 2018” is all the bill says regarding EPA’s elimination. The bill’s preamble has more words than its legislative language.

BillT@1107 – ‘Pack it in, pack it out’ is a good motto, but, in this case the litter is a F-U to the Fed. Sounds like just another no-bid contract to me…out of Florida, no less. Who got the contract, Gumbah Garbage?
Below are the Bismark Landfill fees. Seem reasonable to me. The Corp could have hired a couple of local contractors with some end dumps and a backhoe and done the job for a fraction of what they are paying. Most of the waste is lightweight debris not concrete rubble so the tonnage will not be that massive.
It is just another example of how nothing really changes when it comes to how our government works.
http://www.bismarcknd.gov/150/Landfill
Locally, I have watched while some contractor has been replacing all the irrigation lines, valves, etc. along Hwy 20/49 through Nevada City. They have been there for months with many vehicles on site, CHP on duty, etc. For what, some sprinklers to water the crap landscaping in a drought prone area?

Brad, giving a FU to the Feds is one thing, but they cannot ever justify doing this to private or public property. Ever. Can you ever justify this in a 1,000 lifetimes?? Gets my blood boiling. I know I can search The Union’s archives and get some names of those that went there….but I just would end up in jail if I gave them instant Karma. Guess they have never been knifed before
Ah, I could get some addresses and maybe dump some trash on their front porches some day with a note saying “Hey, you forgot something, asswipe.”
This one gets my goat more than those homeless POSs leaving piles of trash everywhere they go. Everywhere. At least they are mostly doped up, drunken, mentally ill, hopeless, and totally helpless, so at least they have a plausible excuse for caring zero about society and having others clean up their trash. Yes, they are the rule, not the exceptions. Going through life having others clean up after ya. The concept is so foreign to me.
Look what they are doing to our landscapes now!!! Holy crap. Scar the landscape forever for a boondoggle! Those guys never have been knifed either.
“Many of those same activists routinely demonize natural gas and hydraulic fracturing even though the physical footprint of gas production is far smaller than that of wind. Three years ago, the late David J.C. MacKay, then a professor at the University of Cambridge, calculated that wind energy requires about 700 times more land to produce the same amount of energy as a fracking site.”

Brad, before I drop it, they figure it would take 480 rolling dumpsters to clean it up….with time running out before the rising rivers are polluted by those who hate the environment by their actions, although they spout their protection of nature with their words, not deeds. A backhoe and a small crew ain’t going to cut it. Then there is the issue of restoring the land and protecting against erosion caused by the greenies. No one else left this abortion of the landscape but them.
The price of the cleanup is not the issue. The issue is the greenies left a big mess for anybody but them to pack out. The people business is a messy business in more ways than one.
Moving on.
