   In an interesting face to face with a millennial blogger last fall, the young man pointed out a nuance used by the press that opened my eyes. The young man said that everytime a Hillary mouthpiece went on MSM, the person was referred to as a “Clinton surrogate”. Everytime a Trump mouthpiece went on the same news shows, the person was referred to as an “Trump operative”.
   Interesting. Surrogate verses operative. Perceptive young man. Operative has Brown Shirt connotations, while surrogate has advocacy connotations.
   Think Jonah Goldberg noticed the same nuances and he is hardly a Trumpster by any stretch.

   If the political spectrum was a sphere, communists and fascists would be next to each other on the other side from democracy. They were already closely related in the real world. The Nazis lost the war and left us the communists who are now a powerful force in the democrat party.
   The protester class of the democrat party are indistinguishable from either the communist or Nazi street thugs of the past. Same tactics, same attitude and now the democrat protester class has adopted the garb of the Nazi street thugs, all black like the SS. Much more fashionable than brown over black.

I haven’t heard anywhere that reporters have been locked in a closet at a Trump function.     Speaking of fake news good ol’ PE, after hearing all the whimpering and sniveling about some media being excluded from an off camera Spicer meeting the truth gets out. There were in fact two of them today, the earlier one included the Clinton News Network where they got a tongue lashing about their fake news for not telling the whole FBI story, you know the part where Comey told Spicer to go public as he did.

    Most people think their own jobs are hard, but journalists never tire of letting people know just how crucial theirs is and how under appreciated they are.
    The public, as when listening to a friend who’s always complaining, rolls its eyes.
    On Friday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer hosted the daily press briefing but only invited select news outlets into his office for it, rather than hosting it in the traditional briefing room with every credentialed outlet allowed.
    Spicer said before the inauguration that he would do something like this from time to time. It wasn’t controversial then and it isn’t now.
    But sensing an existential threat in not being able to ask the White House about things Trump says on Twitter, the media’s survival instincts kicked in.
    “This is not okay,” said CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin.
    Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery appealed to the nobility of his profession and said that “no one should have attended this while others excluded this way.”
    (Reporters should remember that the next time the Post gets an exclusive it didn’t share with the rest of them.)
    And during his marathon of a press conference last week, Trump accused the news media of harboring “hatred” and making up “fake news.”
    He told a CNN reporter that his network was being downgraded from “fake news” to “very fake news.” Even the reporter, Jim Acosta, laughed.
    NBC “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd, freedom’s compass, called Trump’s comments “un-American.”
    Every time Trump insults the national media, the public is made to endure a lecture on how important reporters are, how meaningful their place in society is.
    But at this point, it’s like seeing someone from work posting selfies on social media. We get it.
    Trump hasn’t done a single thing to limit press freedom, though he has shown a personal delight in overseeing the inevitable emotional breakdown every time he calls the media “fake.”
    Everyone else watches this play out, mildly amused and entirely indifferent to how invalidated Trump’s insults make reporters feel.
    People are too busy with their own jobs to worry about the media’s.

    Actually, no. My ‘style’ is to be aware of what is going on in the world using as many sources as I can. I read different opinions and watch videos if available. I base my opinions on as much factual info as is available. I have found a great number of MSM news stories to be ‘fake’ in that although they do report an actual event, many salient points are left out and the overall impression given to the reader is fairly untrue.
    A good case in point is the AP article that appeared in the Idaho Statesman covering the riots at the UC campus in Berkeley when Milo was scheduled to speak. It was perhaps 3 or 4 column inches with a single photo buried in the back pages. The photo was of a solemn solid line of police, batons at the ready with the student union building in the back ground. Not a single student or protester was in the frame. It was broad daylight, obviously well before any protest or riot actually took place.
    The article admitted that the rioters ‘lit a bonfire’ and informed the reader that there were no injuries and that no arrests were made. Of course, the article did spend some time making sure anyone not familiar with who Milo was, that he was pretty lucky guy not to have been arrested himself. How much or little was edited from the original AP story is impossible for me to know. After reading other accounts and watching the various videos available, it was clear the newspaper article was so far off base, it failed to properly inform. I made sure to read very carefully the following days of news to see if the newspaper would run any updates since they could, of course claim they ran the story as is due to time constraints of going to press with that days issue. There wasn’t. This was the same newspaper that ran this political cartoon of Milo.

    What ever you may think of Milo, the cartoon is clearly trying to give a deliberately false picture of his views.
    Again, for the leftistas here, Milo isn’t the point. It’s the many times I have found it necessary to go to as many different news sources as I can to get as true a picture as I can of an event or person.
    I also use a variety of search engines if possible.
    I do not offer anything as fact to this blog without having credible sources. Sometimes individuals who espouse a view I agree with turn out to be not credible or are not what they claim to be. I simply drop them as a source and move on.
    And, of course I have some fun from time to time as I noticed Paul doing with his ‘word is’ BS and I was mocking it.
    P.S. – Paul – be aware when using Snopes that the couple that started it aren’t what you would call model citizens.
