[This is the addended transcript of my regular KVMR commentary broadcast on 8 February 2017.]

A lot has happened on both sides of the aisle in the last couple of weeks.  President Trump is off to a determined if not bumpy start to deliver on his campaign promises, and the Democrats โ€ฆ?  Well, theyโ€™re off to an even bumpier start which raises the real question โ€“ where are they going?  No one seems to know.  Their only objective is to don the โ€˜Party of Noโ€™ mantle and protest everything until the cows come home.  As a political party, donโ€™t you have to do a bit more than that to have a hope in the 2018 elections; donโ€™t you have to tell the voters what objectives you want to achieve other than throw sand in the gears of the Trump administration?

Right off the top the Democrats have no top, no next generation leaders with ideas that make sense to a country which their old and existing leaders have managed to put into what feels like permanent doldrums cranking along with a screwed up foreign policy, and with even worse domestic policies.  They donโ€™t seem to remember why they lost the last election, starting with the presidency and plunging wholesale into the states and counties.  It is clear that people wanted something different, something that might have a chance of working besides a rehash of the same olโ€™ same olโ€™ by the same old crew.

Most Americans donโ€™t want a brave new world created under the government gun that forces us to accept porous borders, or pauper ourselves to nurture those who hate us and our way of life, or even allow 50-year-old transgendered men to share a bathroom with little kindergarten girls.  Instead, other cultures that send us their emigrants should rest easy that when these new Americans assimilate to our ways, they will inevitably change us a bit to adopt some of their ways.  That is how American culture has evolved since the days of the Pilgrims, the Dutch, the French, and the Germans.  Those who came afterwards always assimilated first and then gently showed the rest of us how to accept some of their cultural gifts.  I know, I am one of those who arrived here as a young refugee from Europe, and whose rapid assimilation invited all the blessings of this land to fulfil my American dream.

But these days our globalist neighbors have brought about new rules to control us.  Today we are told to accept newcomers from strange lands who establish themselves among us in insular communities that by law we then have to respect and support.  It is we Americans who must in our own land adapt to the stranger, and change our lifestyles so as not to somehow violate the newcomersโ€™ sensitivities โ€“ even unto not displaying our flag, not wearing the visible symbols of our faith and fathers, and forego celebrating our history in the public forum as we have done for generations.

This is what the politically corrupt Democrat Party has established in our land in the eyes of at least half of those who still proudly call themselves Americans.  Is that the implied platform of our political Left?  Is it on that basis that they hope to convert or coerce the rest of us?  Hopefully, this will not work, for there are too many of us on both sides who will resist to the point of an eventual break-up as the Left today demonstrates with their Calexit.

Europeans have taught their immigrants and now migrants to become irredeemably aggressive, and to make outlandish demands on their host cultures.  And we Americans are publicly bludgeoned on moral and humanitarian grounds, stretched beyond recognition, to emulate the mistakes that Europe acknowledges, and for which it can find no remedy save belatedly building fences to stem the hordes of unvetted migrants.  In our streets today Democrats carry signs demanding that we โ€˜Open Our Bordersโ€™ and โ€˜Welcome All Who Want to Comeโ€™.  The Democratic leadership maintains a public silence as their surreptitiously directed, augmented, and funded base continues to alienate more and more Americans in the middle.

Until Democrats come up with a viable leadership and platform for their future, the rest of us should let them go on digging their hole, while making sure that in the hysteria we donโ€™t follow Europeโ€™s footsteps as counseled daily by current Democrat elites.

My name is Rebane, and I also expand on this and related themes on Rebaneโ€™s Ruminations where the addended transcript of this commentary is posted with relevant links, and where such issues are debated extensively.  However my views are not necessarily shared by KVMR.  Thank you for listening.

[Addendum]  Locally the Democrat desperation matches if not exceeds its national froth; after all we live in the nascent Socialist State of California.  A land where the overwhelming majority believes or at least dutifully accepts that more and bigger government is better, and that human enterprise is not affected by such esoteria as tax rates and ever burgeoning regulations.  Whatever they can do, we can do better.

The national "sharp left turn by the Democrat Party" (here) is illuminated locally by auto-incandescent moral lighthouses like Ms Hilary Hodge and sharp intellects like Mr George Boardman, regular columnists of our beloved Union which has now declared its leftward lean, a tilt that was already apparent to discerning readers.  For a semblance of balance the newspaperโ€™s editorial board does harbor a conservative or two whose voices in print draw howls of repudiation and demands from the Left that they be forthwith silenced for their manifold heresies.  Mr Norm Sauerโ€™s recent column (here) juxtaposed with Ms Hodgeโ€™s contribution (here) illustrates this situation.

For the last ten years RR has served in the introduction of ideas, notions, and concepts about which our light-reading local Left has been ignorant.  To make clear their limited purview of what is out there, they have for years reliably and predictably accused me of originating and harboring these heresies as a lone wolf up here in the hills, even when the citations and links I provided have inevitably made them out to be the sheltered fools in these parts.  Such exposures always draw a response from their cricket corps, which, after a spell, they return to once more accuse me of the very same โ€˜infractionsโ€™ when next they are exposed to something 'new'.  I remind my readers of this because they currently are shielded from the latest climate change hysteria dupings (here), and, germane to points raised in my above commentary, to other conservative voices which join my longtime proposition that โ€˜The United States cannot Survive as Presently Constitutedโ€™.

None of this revelation is intended to dissuade our leftwingers from contending the ideas that I and mine (e.g. as cited) have put forth.  By all means, marshal your resources and have at them.

[10feb17 update]  Well, the acid test of whether America in the aggregate is as butt stupid as the indivisible leftwing protesters, rioters, and disrupters make us out to be will be decided sooner than later.  It is beyond my comprehension as to what their leading lights think they will accomplish by shouting down Republican MoCs in their public meetings, denying the new SecEd entrance to a school, โ€ฆ, and generating more fake news stories per hour than there is media time to disseminate them.  The most prominent of the latter being that President Trump has initiated a Muslim ban on immigrants making a religious test into a prerequisite for entering the country.

These people are very well funded and now have published a how to disrupt instructions as they organize their grassroots core.  Hereโ€™s a first in the memory of all of us who have been following American politics since the Eisenhower days โ€“ an actual manual published for the country to oppose its duly elected president โ€“ โ€˜Indivisible: A practical guide for resisting the Trump agendaโ€™.  In there you can read instructions on how to repeat what Congressman Tom McClintock suffered in Roseville last week, hereโ€™s an example โ€“

Be prepared to interrupt and insist on your right to be heard. Since you wonโ€™t get the mic at an event like this, you have to attract attention to yourself and your message. Agree beforehand with your group on a simple message focused on a current or upcoming issue. Coordinate with each other to chant this message during any public remarks that your MoC makes. This can be difficult and a bit uncomfortable. But it sends a powerful message to your MoC that they wonโ€™t be able to get press for other events until they address your concerns.

If the Republicans (including the prez) keep their cool, 2018 should be a banner year because it is now clear that the know-nothing protesters have a hot button that is readily available to the GOP.  Pushing it in an uncountable number of ways will bring out the double dummies in force, and let more and more folks in TV land say to themselves, โ€˜Iโ€™m not like that.โ€™

And then we come to the progressivesโ€™ understanding of the Constitution which is really a separate topic that deserves its own focus.  Let me just say here that the Left is doing everything it can to redirect and rearrange the constitutional functions of government, now using the judiciary as the only remaining arm that is still theirs, to determine policy, constructively legislate, and then implement the new rules they impose on us both individually and as a nation.

The time to the ascension of Associate Justice Gorsuch will seem like an eternity.

Hmm, let’s review, Omaha nominated a candidate for SCOTUS and the righteous Right refused to allow it… can you say ‘hypocrisy’?

Hah…….you nitwits were so sure that Darth Menopause was going to coast into the White House that Obama…. in keeping with his mostly lackadaisical presidency….. and Harry Reid hardly lifted a finger to have him seated. I wonder if Poor judge Garland knew how he was being used?
Don’t you ever get tired of blaming the Republicans for everything Brad?
Wouldn’t it be grand if Czar Trump could control SCOTUS and just make up his own Constitution?
Looks like he’s going to seat at least two….maybe three. The lefts punishment for running such a horrible candidate!

Refugees from the Stone Age countries costs the taxpayers 71k/ year and require lifetime assistance. Plus, they breed like rats. Actually, they in-breed at a astonishing percentage according to studies out of Northetn Europe. 1/3 of the Muslim children in the Netherlands are born retarded. Over here, we call that incest. Over there, they call it incest is best. The Pedophile Prophet said it was pleasing to him. Roll your own.
Flint, MI needs 221 million to fix their potable water program. 1.3 Billion is this year’s budget just for our Syrian Refugee Resettlement program.
If we take some off the top of the goat humper resettlement program, the good people of Flint, Michigan can have drinking water again. America first.

Your Mary Katherine Ham quote of the day!

“Some folks ask me what the transition was like from NASCAR reporter to political reporter. It’s easy. In one, you try to explain to your readers the significance of grown-ups getting paid exorbitant amounts of money to go around in circles indefinitely, always turning left. In the other, you get to interview racecar drivers.”

4:28 pm. Heck ya. Burn it down. The old guard is basically just the obstructionist Congressional Black Caucus in the Southetn States. They carried Hillary in the primaries over Grump Old Bernie by 70-90%, depending on the state. They like power and do not like sharing their power with the younger Bernie types.
I see them following our lead and return their party back to the people. Where does all this anger come from. Wonder if they will club John Lewis. If they do, how could you tell?
Boy, having to put Maxine Waters out in front of the cameras on a weekly basis is a sign of desperation. This is great! Nancy had to finish Maxipad’s sentences the last time she spoke, lol. Take me to your leaders.
It is worth repeating that they last time they pushed back, they gave the world Air America. It was the AstroTrurf answer to AM radio ratings. Better to be on the outside looking at the baboons inside cage than be in there with them.

And sure, California is the 6th or 7th largest economy but it is protected defensively by the rest of the country and its military. And when California has to fend off the invasion by China someday it might get a little dicy. And where are all those dollars coming from for the refugees and immigrants? We have the highest taxes and fees in the country so maybe it will go a lot higher to get a place for Mohamed and his pals.

What our esteemed Alt-Left fails to wrap around their melons is we don’t want to be around their kind. A wet blanket, a big lead ballon that lot is. They have been all discombobulated ever since Trump walked into their Election Party Drunkfest and flushed their punch bowl. Trump is a funny guy… oh yeah, the point. The point is they don’t want to be part of the US and we don’t want to be part of them. SoJ is a good solution.
Ah, Paul is trying to snatch a ray of hope out of the gloomy sky. We are back to 2018 or 2019 and what he cares about: his playground of Nevada City must be blue. It must be, it has to be, it will be. Hey, I am all for protecting the playground. It’s so charming. They seem to cluster together there and want us to join them. Ha! I meant they demand we join them and stop being Deplorables. Welcome to Libville.
Nobody has mentioned how close we are to having 75% of the statehouses. Think we have 32-35 and only need 38 I believe. That is the magic number. Everybody talks about the 2/3 of Congress to do the Constitutional Amendment thang, but they don’t know how to read.
The way I see it, all Libs and Bedwetters and Progressives have been calling for a Constitutional Amendment everytime something does not go the way they demand it to. Got so tired of hearing about Common Cause and the electoral college and Hobby Lobby and everything in between I can’t remember at the moment.
But, once we get that 75% of the Statehouses, we will call for a Constitution Amendment and ram through a law to kick 1/2 of CA out of here and make the other half the State of Jefferson. The heads will be popping. Paul had no say in the matter. ๐Ÿ™‚

I got an election audit in the mail. Haven’t opened it and it’s been a few. Must be some kind of lib plot to cull the Irredeemables from Paul’s Blue Blue cloudless sky blank canvas he sees in his third eye. Or maybe it was cause I walked in on Election Day, raised my right hand and swore to something about something, and got a provisional ballot. Easy as pie. I voted in secret. Don’t tell anybody. Secret decoder ring time.
Or maybe it was Diaz doing his job. Boyz, the fraud is concentrated in 20 major cities….liberal playgrounds. And all of S Cal. And Clarke County (Lost Wages) Nevada is about ready to be pushed up closer to the front burner. The real results might have been a lot closer than meets the eye, but by that time, who cared? Hillary was unglued and Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, had already crawled out of her body and was unleashing the Wrath of Hell on her campaign chair and managers and staff and all in her sight. But, I digress.
I do like it that Trump brings up the voter fraud stuff a lot and it really chaps his hide. Mine too. It’s just ain’t right. Ain’t right. Oh, he was been sent some nice things already. It’s on his mind and drives CNN batty, lol.

Here’s one definition that seems reasonable:
“A purple state refers to a swing state where both Democratic and Republican candidates receive strong support without an overwhelming majority of support for either party.”
Let me know when Democrats receive an overwhelming majority in a Nevada County race. At the moment, they are much less than a majority in registrations, and less than a majority in the last Presidential election in our county.
Why the obsession over Blueness? That’s for everyone else to ponder, as it’s clear you’re boxing and not discussing this rationally like an adult.

How about a big fake new story, a nice bedtime story. First, the disclaimer:
Fake News Alert. Fake News Danger Ahead. Warning.
Good, now that we got that out of the way, imagine if you will a big state like, say, California. Now, if it’s is lib on lib or Hispanic Lib against Hispanic Lib down in a LA or Santa Ana, or someplace, who cares. Riverside? Who cares. But, imagine if you will it’s Latino vs Latino or Dem on Dem for a state wide office, and it’s a big election year, Stuffing the ballot may have benefited more than just the top of the ticket, something on little interest. Now imagine we can not say for sure if our current, say, Secretary of State won his spot fair and square. I don’t care cause my vote does not count, but it is an interesting scenario. . .

A harbinger of riots yet to be executed
Paul Sperry writing in New York Post:
When former President Barack Obama said he was โ€œheartenedโ€ by anti-Trump protests, he was sending a message of approval to his troops. Troops? Yes, Obama has an army of agitators โ€” numbering more than 30,000 โ€” who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.
In whatโ€™s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isnโ€™t just staying behind in Washington. Heโ€™s working behind the scenes to set up what will effectively be a shadow government to not only protect his threatened legacy, but to sabotage the incoming administration and its popular โ€œAmerica Firstโ€ agenda.
Heโ€™s doing it through a network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action. Normally youโ€™d expect an organization set up to support a politician and his agenda to close up shop after that candidate leaves office, but not Obamaโ€™s OFA. Rather, itโ€™s gearing up for battle, with a growing war chest and more than 250 offices across the country.

With the support of the MSM, it will be possible for a small group of protestors to appear to be a huge spontaneous mob at multiple locations across the country. Example the Airport protests across the nation following the Seven County Travel Ban Executive Order. From the TV it looked like thousands, and it was only hundreds. We can expect more of these instant riots at multiple locations all managed from Obama’s bunker just 2 miles from the White House. He is determined to destroy the Trump Presidency.

Here’s some news to start us on a new week. Trump has now slipped to -15 on the Gallup Poll. A fall of an astounding 15 points in two weeks. Astonishing and unprecedented lack of support for a new President. The question is how low can he go. The one poll that showed him with considerable support (Reuters) has him only up by 1, a fall of 7 in a week. Rasmussen has fallen by 4 as well. What does this mean? Ask the Repubs that have his tattoo on their forehead for the next 4 years.
