   Paul, much, if not most, what I hear from the hyperventilating journalist class* about Trump’s “lies” are issues that can be papered over with differing points of view and good old fashioned sloppiness. Gingrich will take twice as many words to say what Trump does and the Newt gets it right, but he doesn’t win the big elections. Trump did.
   *for the moment, let’s put you in that class.

    Walt. Agreed. I loved it when Bob said he called a precinct captain on Election Day and the first thing out of local guy’s mouth was “how many do you need”. Not what’s up, not why are you calling, no even hello, Bob. Just “how many votes do you need?” 10,000, 30,000? No problem.
    I really wished Bob was around on Gutfield when Trump was talking about the election is rigged that had the Dems’ heads exploding before the election. Oh Bob could tell you a bunch of stories about rigging the votes, about politicians who actually grabbed the short curlies, and other stories of car wrecks and near head on collisions out there on the campaign trail. That kind of candor and honestly is what is really missing in today’s world of snob elitists punditry. A little bit of antidotal stories never hurts to put things in proper perspective.
    Once Bob was introduced as a political campaign expert. He ran Mondale’s campaign or was it McGovern’s? Anyway, he took the mike and said “I don’t know why you call me an expert. I lost 49 states and if you think that is a campaign expert…….”. 🙂
    That is why I like the Swamp Thing….the Ragin’ Cajun…James Carville. If you get past the his style and hyper-partisanship, he is really open and candid and, like Bob, will throw some good pearls from the rubber meets the road experience out there. If fact, Donna Brazile used to be that way until she got too close to Hillary. Anyone who gets too close to My Gal gets corrupted. Sad.

    Sandbox topic: what is a conservative in today’s Trumpism World? Boy, a true Constitutionist like Mark Levine is screaming about Wilbur Ross being in the cabinet. Others are screaming about Trump strong arming a private sector enterprise like Carrier. Where in the Constitution is that power given to government!! Boy, nobody is 100% pleased, but all agree anything is better than Hillary. Guess the bottomline is Scotus, scotus, scotus.
