[Dr Anna Haynes appears to have done a revamp of NC Voices. It's humorous composition and structure viz Right and Left are stronger than ever – actually it admits to no leftwing content even though the site literally overflows with it under headings like 'General', 'Climate/H2O', 'Pelline', 'Personal Growth', … . And now the off page 'Right Wing' column has its listed posts per blog reduced to the last three. Oh well, even though it's nice to still be listed, I'm having a hard time understanding why Dr Haynes even tolerates our presence at all since without us all of her content can be represented as the heartfelt outpourings of a politically correct, consistent, and harmonious middle. gjr]

What, no Hillary? Darn, I was hoping for another do over. Well, you never know what the future brings. I remember when Edmond Musk was the hands down front runner by the polls looking ahead into the future. Edmond who?, you ask? Exactly.
. Looking at the polls at this place in time, I gather that most Americans want the 2016 election in the rear view mirror and move on to the next thing coming down the pike. Think it will be best to start to commence to look ahead and see what our new President can or cannot do in his first 2 years. Limbo time, as one President has yet to vacate public housing and another yet to move in. The waiting room. Good time to clean out the closets and finally going through the clutter. Oh, what to leave in, what to leave out.
Still about jobs, jobs, jobs. Pocketbook issues. No surprises here.

Uber’s autonomous vehicles experiment in San Francisco has come to an end. [CalTrans Competition?]
Following Uber’s decision to pull its self-driving cars off San Francisco streets yesterday, the ride-hailing company today said those cars are on the way to Arizona.
“Our cars departed for Arizona this morning by truck. We’ll be expanding our self-driving pilot there in the next few weeks, and we’re excited to have the support of Governor (Doug) Ducey,” Uber spokeswoman Chelsea Kohler said today.
Gov. Ducey responded with his statement, welcoming Uber’s cars with “open arms and wide open roads.”
“While California puts the brakes on innovation and change with more bureaucracy and more regulation, Arizona is paving the way for new technology and new businesses,” he said in a statement.
Sacramento submitted a request to CalTrans to have the self-driving cars tested in Sacramento. Denied? Apparently CalTrans does not want any Uber self-driving vehicles in California, they have funded their own version through the UC Berkeley automated driving laboratory called PATH.
UC Berkeley PATH is pleased to announce the creation of the Berkeley DeepDrive (BDD) Industry Consortium. This research alliance will investigate state-of-the-art technologies in computer vision and machine learning for automotive applications.
PATH is a partnership with Uber’s competitors. Could the banning of Uber self-driving cars have anything to do with the fact CalTrans is funding a competitive team? Oh, by the way PATH has been working on self driving cars for over 30 years. I used to visit PATH in the 1990s and worked to make TRW a partner. It appears that private industry has surpassed 30 years of PATH research effort with actual self driving products. Competition is producing selfdriving cars, PATH is producing research. Trump is the Russian puppet, here’s why.
Trump is one confused puppy. You can NEVER believe a word he says. Because he is an accomplished liar nobody takes anything he says seriously especially someone as crafty as Putin. Putin will play him like a spider to a fly. He’ll get what he wants out of Trump and then chomp off another bit of the Balkans knowing that Trump will be helpless in stopping him just like Obama was. Obama did impose sanctions which was irritating to Putin but Trump and his Exxon puppet Sec of State will reverse that for the profit of both Trump and Exxon.
Scott, what other playing card will Trump have if Putin makes a move on the Balkans or worse. What’s he gonna say-“Putin my friend, I thought we had a relationship??”
Trump has no idea what he’s getting himself into. He’s willing to publicly bargain with NATO over bills due while Putin plays him like a chump. There is no way Trump is as smart as Putin in this game. Putin has been at it all his life while Trump was building hotels and sponsoring beauty contests.
Hope that answers your question about how I see the situation.
Also in my view Putin did intentionally try to influence the election which Trump denies. What a simple blackmail card Trump can play if he wants to get nasty with Trump. Who knows what other goodies he has on Trump if he decides to play that game. I fear that Trump will be helpless in any negotiations with Russia because he’s already so compromised.LikeLike
