The Russian Hacking Pot keeps on bubbling without any clear resolution in sight.  Our Left laments Hillary’s loss, and is now relieved to have found a deep dark reason for it – Russia colluded with Trump to hack her illegal server and the DNC, put the damning emails in the public domain through Wikileaks, and thereby suck away enough votes to give Trump an electoral landslide.  Moreover, no matter how badly the emails reflected on the doings of Hillary and the DNC, since Russia is accused of ‘stealing’ them, their content should not have been allowed to become a factor in the election.  And Trump did a dastardly deed by encouraging us all to consider what was in the emails.

In the olden days it was the journalists job to dig up, cite, and publicize bad stuff on public figures; not any more.  Today journalists must consider how the bad stuff came to light before they report it to the public, since now they have a higher calling given that almost all of them are leftwing agenda driven.  Or should they?

All agree that countries should not seek to affect the outcome of other countries’ elections.  All with 3-digit IQs know that countries have practiced such interventions since forever to serve their national interests.  And in this case Russia is accused of doing that by revealing truth about the parties involved in the election.  But who are the accusers?

This morning NPR did another Trump hit piece by interviewing two ‘intelligence journalists’ – a senior NPR reporter and an academic – who were asked why no one knows who in our federal government is blaming the Russians, and why has there been no evidence cited or presented to support the accusation.  The ensuing discussion was again most revealing of the liberal mind.

It turns out that the best that can be done about supporting the report that our intelligence community has identified Russia as the guilty party is a surreptitious interview with a ‘highly placed intelligence official’ who is not authorized to reveal such information to the press.  This unnamed ‘Deep Throat’ was characterized as a brave individual who risked his career and perhaps more in causing the unauthorized leak.  The NPR journalist assured listeners that ethics did not permit her to reveal neither the leaker nor the evidence, but that she did her best to confirm what she had learned (no claim of confirmation, just best efforts), and therefore all should accept her reporting at face value because, after all, she is an ethical journalist.

Due to the recent history of journalistic malfeasance – aka incidents of lying and faking news – journalists are correctly held in low esteem by the news consuming public; actually their credibility is somewhere below that of politicians and lawyers.  Nevertheless, stiff upper lip and all that, the country is being asked to accept on the word of journalists that not only that the Russians did it, but also the follow on impact of what was done.

Now I have to admit that this tack may be as effective as that plied on the issue of climate change.  There are many dots between accepting that climate changes and that we should implement economy killing policies to reverse preventable catastrophic global warming.  The American public today assumes that all those dots are naturally connected as soon as someone starts talking about being a ‘climate change denier/skeptic’ or ‘accepting the overwhelming consensus of climate scientists’ on the matter.  In short there is no rational discussion of the issue simply because reasoning about it is beyond the ken of most people.

While the Russian hacking issue is not as complex, it nevertheless does include such arcane factors as ‘in the public domain’, ‘damning content’, ‘authenticity’, ‘journalistic standards’, ‘ethics’, ‘electoral impact’, ‘anonymous sources’, ‘US intelligence community’, … .  These are perhaps simpler dots to connect, but there are still too many of them for most folks to handle.  (This can be confirmed by some of the entries in the comment streams of recent RR posts.)

And finally to confuse the matter even more, we now have the surprising assertion by Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano (here) that it was US intelligence that hacked the Hillary and DNC emails, and released them to Wikileaks which has not revealed its source for the purloined bagatelles.  In any event, the Left’s argument that involving those emails in the electoral campaign was akin to the purchase of blood diamonds is patently ludicrous.

[17dec16 update]  The Hillary/DNC email affair is getting stinkier with President Obama’s contribution at his yesterday’s news conference.  While the lamestream won’t touch the story of a former British diplomat claiming that 1) the emails were leaked not hacked, by 2) disaffected Clinton insiders, and the principal leaker was murdered last July in a mysterious early morning shooting where the motive was clearly not robbery.  Check out this video for the whole story and make your own determination of its verity and the sound of silence from the media (which could at least make a very interesting story out of debunking this and other such reports).

Unbelieve, 4 days in a row. Hey Paul, be a dear and post that link again. I have seemed to have misplaced it. Thanks darling. Oh, President Obama cited it yesterday…some poor hearer then got sick and threw up. It was horrible. What a way to say goodbye.

The influence of Trump on Republicans has created this softening on the Republican view of Putin. This will lead to a pullback of the economic sanctions placed on Russia by Obama. that will be the payback enacted by our new Sec of State that will aid EXXON who were opposed to the sanctions from the start. A few months under Trump and Putin will be hanging out at the Trump Tower, kissing babies and staring in parades.

I referred to the link that showed 37% of Republicans having a somewhat favorable view of Putin. Linked at 12:55 Way below the Dems who responding to the same question with 12% this is a startling difference that illustrates the influence of Trump on Republicans..

Paul Emery, you walk like a duck, talk like a duck and spew like a liberal duck. You are a liberal. And since you never answer our questions, you act totally like a liberal. What happened to your “dark money” BS regarding Citizen’s United? You really have no clue do you?

Come on Paul, keep playing that endless loop. You have been posting it for 90 hours, lol. Please find it again for us. I can’t see it either. Are you stuck on stupid, or just stuck?
The world will be a safer place with Putin hanging out in the Tower and kissing babies brought to him to be blessed. Let’s try something new.
Paul, keep that endless loop playing over and over and over in your head. This is fun. Are you frustrated yet? Give your latest theory another go. Come on, put it out there. I just don’t understand your point you are struggling to convey. Try it again, but this time with feeling!

Now Paul thinks he’s a Libertarian. Well, why not? Anyone can be anything these days. Just tap your ruby slippers together and make a wish.
In other news, John Podesta wrote a piece that The Wash Post ran today. He starts with this bit:
“The more we learn about the Russian plot to sabotage Hillary Clinton’s campaign and elect Donald Trump, and the failure of the FBI to adequately respond, the more shocking it gets.”
Actually, what we’ve learned is that the CIA hasn’t got a single fact.
But if enough folks keep telling the same lie, it becomes a big deal. This is from the guy that was the chairman of Hillary’s campaign which was based largely on constant lies about Trump. How well did that work out?
Paul and other lefties buy right into this nonsense and already have visions of Putin having his way with American foreign policy. Oh wait – Putin already has his way with American foreign policy. Strange – Trump isn’t even POTUS yet.

I really could care less what the little noggin of Paul thinks. He is always nowhere to be found when we ask him a question. You would think we;d learn to disregard him. Anyway, he lost as Trump says, “big league” and his panties are in a wad. Sad.

Paul serves a purpose. Sometimes comic relief. He’s now pushing a poll that apparently was done by a hard left news org. He can’t find any other poll that backs up this poll, but by gum, if he can find a single poll that suits him, then that is complete and total proof of whatever that poll purports to show.
Remember the polls he quoted about the election?
How did those polls do? Paul?
He could just go out on the street and ask actual Rs if they view Putin favorably, but why bother talking to people in person? He’s got a poll!
    Total comedy.

Hay Paul.. I recall you pushing POLLS that Trump would lose the nomination. When that augured in , it was the POLLS that Trump would never win. That info showed up as a flaming bag of dog crap on your front porch that you stomped on barefoot. Now you trott some other meaningless poll like a prized sheep at the fair.
Pick a new battle… Say… The disenfranchised pot smoker, who can’t smoke pot, because his employer still has the right to drug test for a drug free workplace. Who’s right is more important? The wannabe dope smoker, or the employer looking to keep his liabilities to a minimum?
Come on man,, get back to what’s important in Nevada City.

    He’s your guy and won.

PaulE 601pm – Got it Paul. Now, did you answer my 220pm? In any event, I interpret ‘favorable’ as in the comparative attributes of a national leader in pursuing his country’s interests, such as: decisive, strong, evidence of strategic thinking, successful, … . I don’t interpret the 37%’s ratings as approving of his methods of how he rules Russians. The results of the poll would have been different had the question been, ‘Do you favor Putin as a corrupt autocratic thug who uses violence to suppress his opposition while claiming to be a democrat?’

Not exactly George but it shows that Republicans are far more inclined to show a favorable attitude towards Putin than the Dems. Obviously you are more inclined to support something you have a more favorable view of than something you don’t have a favorable view of. Shows the influence of Trump on the Republicans softening them up for pro Russia policy first to be manifested by dropping sanctions .

Sorry Dr. Rebane, I refuse to help ya. I want to see the monkey trying to hump the football for a few more days. Hint: Even O mentioned the 37% yesterday on his goodbye tour…..it was so moving. Nope, ain’t going to give it up. See, Trump said we would get used to winning and never grow tired of winning. Sorry, Doc. This is too much fun….something you never grow tired of. :).
Yo Paul, who cares if Podesta’s computer was hacked. It was not like it was official government stuff….just private stuff from a barely recognizable minor political party
    .
Yo Paul, is that the same CIA that altered its report and analysis, and then told us Benghazi was caused by a spontaneous demonstration, sparked by a never heard of or seen Internet video? What poll????? Please repost, Pleeeeeaaaaasssseeee.
    .
UPDATE: you know, with Hillary’s unsecured e-mails full of State Secrets and secret agents names and locations all on her home brewed server in her bathroom, there is a good chance that some of our contacts, informants, and undercover operatives over in Raghead Land got eliminated…..wacked….terminated. I dunno, but if it was one of my buddies or one of my men, I would be gunning for revenge……and drawing a bead on Hillary to expose her sorry ass….In memory of the fallen, of course. Plenty of folks with motive and opportunity…….

Hillary gave her big Thankyou party last night for her biggest donors. Trump has been flying around giving his Thankyou rallies to the voters.
Hillary comes out from the shadows to give her biggest donors a thank you party. Trump goes out to give the people a thank you ‘hand clapping knee slapping foot stomping shindig.’ Let that sink in.
Nope, ain’t going to give it up. Nothing to see here. FYI: Podesta had his arms crossed and a pained face at the $100k/night Ballroom party. He looked none too happy. Guess money can’t buy you love.

    “Claiming Victory Scott?”
Let’s go back – way back – to 6:12 (today).
“She did not win the EC as we know but the polls were pretty much right on.”
No, Paul – darn near every single poll said Hillary would be POTUS. And you gleefully brought them here to rub our noses in it.
They were wrong and she lost.
They were not even close to right on – they were fully and completely wrong. All those polls showing how Trump had already lost even before the voting had begun because of the EC.
Now you come up with one single poll that shows a hypothetical love for Putin by Rs and you roll that into some diabolical plot in which Putin and his merry gang will take over America. I know a lot of Rs Paul and none of them like Putin. None. Even if the poll is correct there is not even a majority of Rs that like Putin.
Here’s an idea, Paul – why don’t you go back over the several months of the campaign and remind us of the polls you provided links to and figure out the percentage of them that were totally wrong. Then explain why we’re supposed to get all in a huff about some supposed huge Republican led Putin love-fest.
