Trump rocked the house tonight and gave us a treat, confirmation that 4 Star General Matis will be the New Sec Def. I know my brothers in uniform will love the coming change in rules of engagement, no more ACLU model rules that cost us lives and nutter our military from doing what is known to be successful in combat.
No wonder vlad putin is saying he does not want conflict with the US, well starting in 50 days anyway! 😉LikeLike

Trump names General Matis as Sec of Def and immediately France surrenders.

Interesting times…,
“There could be as many as seven Democrats in Colorado and Washington state, who call themselves the Hamilton Electors, who will cast protest Electoral College votes for a candidate not named Trump or Clinton on December 19.
The group cites Alexander Hamilton as its inspiration and in particular, his writings in Federalist 68, where the Founding Father said that “the Electoral College affords a moral certainty, that the office of the President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.””LikeLike

Well the first two both checked out at the same age…..if the inventor of the Ding Dong isn’t 98 I’m guessing he’s safe!
For now…..!LikeLike

11:36 am. Only 98 years? Well, whomever invented the Ding Dong probably will live to be 150 considering all the preservatives in those things. Maybe he is stuffed and standing in the lobby of the Hostess Twinkie Musuem….but technically still alive…not brain dead yet.
……10:08 am. I liked Tim R very much. His tribute book to his Dad is a must read. Brought me back to the days of my Dad studying maps of mountain ranges that came in the mail, writing a check and sending it off to some campground in the back country far away to hold a vacation spot for us. Besides that book, Tim was a fine man and excellent reporter. He had a good BS sniffer and a good temperament.
“A father’s words are the true legacy he leaves his children.”

Congressman Tom McClintock also got shellacked in Truckee against candidate Robert Derlet, though he won re-election.
Nevada City resident Jeff Pelline set a blistering pace in this years Boston Marathon though he ultimately finished in 27,000th place!

Morons like “fish” find it insignificant that 82.48 percent of Truckee’s voters rejected McClintock as their Congressman — a real embarrassment. I suspect the residents of Carmichael feel the same about “fish,” so he fled up here to finger paint in the local blogosphere. What else would explain it? Meanwhile, Dr. Phil read this diatribe from “fish,” and hopes to speak with him soon: http://www.ncc-1776.org/tle2011/tle603-20110116-02.html Can you spell “psycho”?
NOOOOOOOO! Not 82.48%!
…..out to the thousandths…..something only a political fanboi can get that excited about!
Enjoy Congressman McClintock jeffy!LikeLike
-
Fish, here are the numbers.
District Wide McClintock 62.^5, 214,870, Derlet, 37.4%, 128,123.
Nevada County, McClintock, 35.1%, 2,,567, Delbert, 64.9%, 4,743.
So yes Tom got whipped but he whipped the dems ass bad in the district. What is interesting to me about these numbers are it appears we are seeing where the democrats overtook the R’s in the County. Truckee! And guess where all the illegals live?LikeLike

Once again, Todd, you miss the point. Why should the rich get a bigger tax cut than anybody else?
The only rich people who pay the theoretical rate are those who just won the lottery; the rest of them employ a seemingly endless array of tax dodges to minimize the taxes they do pay.
Of course, Trump is rich–just ask him. Maybe that’s why the rich are getting the biggest cut.LikeLike

But GeorgeB. The top 1% already pay 40% of the total federal tax bite. The top 5% pay over 60%. Is that fair? And the bottom 40% pay nothing. You really need to review your logic.

GeorgeB 242pm – “Why should the rich get a bigger tax cut than anybody else?”
And pray how do you assess the size of tax cuts Mr Boardman? Your methodology does not conform to any kind of arithmetic with which I am familiar. Perhaps it is underpinned by an irrefutable math-free logic to which you and yours are privy. Describing that and then discussing its motivation and parameters should provide entertainment all around.LikeLike

Mr. Boardman.
Let’s be clear. It is your, mine, and everyone’s here job to keep the People’s President feet to the fire. We need to. He is new at this and the temptations and pitfalls are many ahead. We must hold him accountable. But, kind sir, cut back on all this projection. Or, just keep writing about what you ate when you got to whatever place you went on a daily basis. You went to the mountains and ate that? You went to the wine country and you ate that? In other news, Dr. Roger Pielke Jr had an op-ed in the WSJ detailing some of the crap he’d endured, thanks to Wikileaked information. Podesta’s group slimed him, too.
“My Unhappy Life as a Climate Heretic
My research was attacked by thought police in journalism, activist groups funded by billionaires and even the White House…
Much to my surprise, I showed up in the WikiLeaks releases before the election. In a 2014 email, a staffer at the Center for American Progress, founded by John Podesta in 2003, took credit for a campaign to have me eliminated as a writer for Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight website. In the email, the editor of the think tank’s climate blog bragged to one of its billionaire donors, Tom Steyer: “I think it’s fair [to] say that, without Climate Progress, Pielke would still be writing on climate change for 538.”

“But of course gun control is only tangentially about gun control. The controllers detest gun owners viscerally as they imagine them, aging white Southern yahoos or Western cowboys with potbellies and third-grade educations who are probably werewolves, Republicans or even conservatives. Deplorables. Note that they never criticize the killers, the Islamoterrorists, the blacks in the cities massacring each other with abandon, or the Hispanic narcos engaged in auto-extermination. The controllers simply dislike white conservatives or, more profoundly, those who are emotionally independent and not of the mentality of the hive. Guns are innocent bystanders.
If a woman tells me that she favors gun control, I can with confidence predict that she favors unchecked immigration, sanctuary cities, affirmative action, banning the Confederate flag, suppressing Christianity, homosexual marriage, abortion, feminism, and the dumbing down–she will call it something else–of schools to avoid wounding the self-esteem of the usual suspects.
The question of guns demarcates a sharp dividing line between who read the New York Times and those for whom it is the house organ of a class of people they detest. This is the Trumpo-Hillarian Chasm. New York, which controls the country with Washington as its action arm, is not particularly cognizant of what goes on in the rest of the US. The imposition of political correctness prevents New York from hearing anything it doesn’t like, but also prevents it from knowing the extent to which people believe things New York doesn’t want to hear. Thus their surprise at the rise of Trump, which anyone could have suspected after an hour in Joe’s Bar in Chicago.http://www.unz.com/freed/gun-control-hawglegs-and-hawgwash/
