‘YES, California!’ draws more than a smile from some of us longtime prescients who witness the ongoing dissolution of the America our forebears and we have labored to build.  In these pages and on some other commentariats this has been labeled as the coming Great Divide.  There is no agreement in which of the many possible forms the Great Divide will be realized, only that the American schisms along educational, ideological, and cultural fault lines will bring us to the country’s promised fundamental transformation.

CApresident2016The pre-educated of the Left (especially of the local variety) have screamed their opposition to such a divide for all the reasons that in California they have suddenly embraced a fortiori.  Our left coast socialists have upped the ante – no more regional confederacies or ideological bifurcation of existing states – to a complete break to create a new sovereign nation-state distinct from what was the USA.  And why?  They lost their previously pre-ordained election.

The last time such audacious ideas were put into practice was during the War for Southern Independence which the victorious North misnamed the Civil War.  Our Constitution does not prevent secession, but subsequent SCOTUS decisions have concluded that secession is only possible through “revolution or consent of the States”.  The country’s political climate has not changed sufficiently to permit either path forward.  But that the Left is now on record for fomenting such a solution, should eternally highlight their recorded hypocrisy in opposing other penultimate Great Divide solutions.

The just concluded election was both historical and hysterical in that it castrated the long-running dominance of the Democrats.  The Republicans not only dominate governorships and state legislatures, but have also swept the federal government by delivering the trifecta of POTUS, COTUS, and soon SCOTUS.  The bankrupt public policies of the Democrats survive only in the densely packed coastal stacks of the terminally dependent comprised of corporatists, academics, and the inner cities’ plantation dwellers.

But here in our little (pop ca 98K) mountain county we have not escaped the spread of the socialist acne that continues to reach out into idyllic inland communities and to sprout its boils of politically correct public pus which inevitably destroy the comity and commerce of the communities they come to infest.  Progressives spread through the easily understood practice of always fouling the nests they inhabit, and then moving on to more pristine environs to repeat the process.  Looking at the election map of California, we see that our Nevada County has now become such a pimple.  From the local celebrations of making these hills safe for socialists, we already hear shouts of ‘Today the county, tomorrow the state, and then the world!’  Kinda reminds one of ISIS.

Meanwhile in the real world other western countries are beginning to revisit their populist pasts following today’s examples set by innumerable second and third world countries where unquestioned populism and cultural cohesion has reigned for centuries.  Through our diabolical globalist worldview we are taught that what for them continues to be a natural veneration of their historical cultures, for us has suddenly become the practice of the worst kind of xenophobia and racism.  They can live happily in the midst of theirs, while we dare not attempt the same joys in the midst of ours.  And yet, they now want ‘YES, California!’

Yeah George the blueness of Nevada County is setting in for a long run with Districts 1 and 5 deep blue for the next four hears and districts 3 and 4 up in two years. Dan Miller will face a tough challenge from a yet undisclosed but very popular opponent who will appeal to the 60% of the electorate that Miller branded as being “idiots” for opposing Measure W and Hank Weston (District 4) will not run again so that will be up for grabs. With the exception of Wildwood there was strong opposition to W throughout his district so a cultivation friendly candidate will surely emerge. Once again ” It’s the economy stupid” is the mantra so that will be the bugle for sure. there are more registered Dems than Pubbers which was reflected in Hillary’s strong showing this November.
Lots of good deals on land in the North state where there is a more friendly future for the old Pubsters in Nevada County who aren’t ready o head to warmer climates.

Back when the local GOP were pushing for a particular supervisor, Mr. Pink was apoplectic over the fact that the Supervisors were non partisan positions. Now that they’re drooling over a local hegemony, all of a sudden it’s OK to treat them as partisan plums.
The Democratic Fortress California will collapse after one of two events… Global Warming disappearing as an organizing principle, or the state essentially going bankrupt, or more to the point, recognizing we’ve been bankrupt for awhile thanks to the employee pension fund books being cooked by unrealistic earnings expectations.

A recent piece in the Union after the election about us locals voting for racism and voting against tranny babies and voting for all the derogatory terms ending in “phobic” has a common theme espoused by the Calexiters. Add to that mix the exact same theme articulated by students who sought out mental health professionals after seeing the word ” Trump” etched in chalk. That theme is “I can’t believe some among us could possibly think that way….that they would vote for hatred! Now I am frightened, my safe place is no longer safe. Do I need to look crosseyed at my neighbor? Which ones are they?” Diversity of thought is NOT diversity! I feel so scared, I must flee to my own kind! This place has been defiled and will never feel safe again.”
With that said, how about some cold hard facts:
And if somehow it [Calexit] came to pass, California better get a good lawyer, he said. When West Virginia seceded from Virginia during the Civil War, the Supreme Court later ruled that Virginia could be reimbursed for the money it spent building up its infrastructure.
“Would we have to repay the money the federal government gave us for Yosemite and the interstate highway system?” Levine asked. “I understand the frustration, but the Civil War was a really bad precedent.”

The right side of the aisle in Nevada County has been better organized and has good turn out in elections. In 2 years that election will be a Gubernatorial Primary when those Supervisor positions are going to election. That election has the lowest turnout and the following General Election follows close behind. Will the left side get the turnout? Better not count your chickens quite yet.
S.F. County voted 9 to 1 Clinton over Trump, Shasta County was 2 to 1 Trump over Clinton. How the divide keeps growing in Calif.

I was briefly looking at the election results. Usually all types of voting should have about the same percentages (absentee, early, and Election Day). In Nevada county absentee voting and election day voting are about the same, the early voting is hugely skewed to the left. Seems a little odd.

CA has about 18 million registered voters. Republicans account for only 29% of the registered voters in this state. California is truly out of step with the rest of the nation, save places near great bodies of water. Exceptions to the great bodies of water are Texas, Florida, the Carolinas, and the Deep South. Even Minnesota was not a walk in the park for the Democrat Party. Even here in “blue” Nevada County, the Democrat Party failed to get a simple majority for Crooked Hillary. Amazing.

BarryP 737am – What you say has been true historically. The Dems urged their constituencies to vote early since their minds were already made up – no further facts need be considered. I’m not aware of any higher possibilities for hanky-panky with early voting. Thoughts?

I did check it out. June 2016 and November 2014 have even higher percentages of difference than Nov. 2016. My guess it has to do with the issues at the time and who is motivated. Some of other data that is always interesting to look at is the over and under votes of the contests. Of all of the propositions in Nov. 2016, Prop 64 “pot prop” got the least amount of under votes by far. How can you over vote a yes no question on the ballot? Maybe too much of prop 64 before you marked your ballot?

No particular thoughts…just an observation. I looked as well and the early voting most always leans left. I same cases really left. The LaMalfa/Reed race in particular. Just interesting. In any event, I can see people voting for Reed as well. If you ever met him, the first thing you would think is that he is a nice guy.

this will be the last election we’ll have these numbes to share. in “20 we are going for virtually all mail in voting which will be interesting. according to the Union
“Come 2018, all registered Nevada County voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot, regardless of whether they asked for one.
They’ll also no longer have precincts scattered across the county, but instead get a handful of vote centers in five or six spots.
It’s a massive change for Nevada County, and one that will become statewide by 2020. A pilot program, of which Nevada County is part, will see those changes in 2018.
“Everyone is going to be mailed a ballot,” said Greg Diaz, Nevada County’s registrar of voters.
Senate Bill 450, signed by Gov. Jerry Brown two months ago, enacts the sweeping changes. Diaz will attend a meeting in about two weeks with the Secretary of State’s Office to learn more about the new system.

Worse case serario is the House will decide the next Prez and VP, assuming the recount drags on and on past Dec. 19th….from what I gather. Trump and Hillary both would fall short of 270 electorates. The sole purpose is to delegitimize Trump to the max and lay the groundwork for possible impeachment….Right now it’s all speculation, albeit I told ya the day after the election that the libs/progressives hate our guts. That will not change. They are despicable people. Reach out across the aisle and they bite your hand of friendship off. Go pound sand.
Hillary looks more and more like a horrible human being. They are still in denial and always will be. It’s their way or death to those who do not fall in line. They will never accept that their world view and relative moralism is built on quicksand and destruction for all except for their little inner circle. They lust for absolute power and are dangerous to democracy, liberty, our inalienable rights, and are the biggest threat to our Constitutional Republic. They seek to destroy us from within. Stand firm, give no quarter to Evil. The depths of their depravity knows no bounds.

Besides those changes there is a bit more to it. With the passage of SB 450 the following will happen.
Same day voter registration at the election office starting in 2017.
There would be one vote center for every 10,000 registered voters on Election Day and the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday leading up to Election Day. Starting 10 days before the Election and through the Friday before Election Day, there would be one vote center for every 50,000 registered voters.
Counties would be required to hold “education workshops” with community groups, including organizations that assist voters with disabilities and language minority communities.
I think the biggest change, was last year with the passage of AB 1461, the new Motor Voter Act.
This will make us a opt of voter registration state like Oregon. A drivers license makes you automatically registered to vote. If you don’t want to be registered to vote, you have to opt out. This will add millions of voters to the rolls. With the passage of SB 450 these people will automatically get a ballot also. This will take $$$$ to do this.
    These are big changes IMO!

I told you no, the Democrats were claiming the GOP was talking about impeachment but no Republican was. Which was it, Paul?
How many times did you, grinning like the Cheshire cat, tell me Trump was flaming out?
Nationally, the Dems have been counting on the Progressive arrow of history and demographics to bail them out. Good plan, didn’t work, as their counting of eggs not hatched blinded them to their having hollowed out their party. It could be worse… the music in 1922 was actually pretty good!

It was just 8 years ago that all comers came over here to gleefully announce that the Republican Party would be nothing but a regional old white party of George Wallace in the old Confederate States. Long time no come see. Would take 20 years to even rear its head again. “Relegated to the dustbin of history” was the operative phrase.
It was just 6 years ago that the Tea Party was declared an Astro-Turf non-movement bankrolled by the ghost of George Wallace because the misfits could not stomach the idea of a clean light skinned Negro in the White House.
It was just 6 weeks ago that PE said something like “I appreciate your passion Bill, but Trump has zero change of winning.” Zero chance, accept reality. Not to mention the resurrected narrative that the Republicans would be torn asunder, just a blood vessel of its former self, a once powerful political party….relegated and delegated to the dustbin of history. It’s the demographics, stupid. No chance. The future is bleak at best. The Electoral College is all that matters, nothing else, you knuckledraggers. Crowd size and enthusiasm meant nothing you uneducated angry deplorables!!
Well, they got the angry part right. They also got the deplorable half right, and got the other half, the irredeemables, right as well. No agrument here. I like my lower companions.
It is a truism that liberalism means never having to say you’re sorry. The new updated truism is liberalism means never having to admit you’re wrong. Now, what is that definition of insanity that Dr. Rebane posts now and then? I could be wrong, but maybe liberalism is indeed a mental disease.

WASHINGTON ― One of Donald Trump’s fiercest Republican critics, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, said Tuesday that the president-elect should either provide evidence of his claims that millions of people voted illegally or stop spreading a false message.

OR even the Newt. Snotty???? YOur call.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) said tweeting a lie about voter fraud was the worst thing President-elect Donald Trump has done since winning the election.
While speaking Tuesday on USA Today’s “Capital Download,” Gingrich said presidents “can’t randomly tweet without having somebody check it out.”
“It makes you wonder about whatever else he’s doing,” Gingrich said. “It undermines much more than just a single tweet, so I’d say that’s probably the biggest single thing he’s done wrong.”
In a tweet Sunday afternoon, Trump alleged there were “millions of people who voted illegally” in this year’s presidential election. That claim has been rejected by a number of states, election law experts and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
