"… for more is often accomplished through a witty remark than through the gravest argument." Gracian #22

The far Left still doesn’t understand what happened on 8 November. But they do agree with RR’s assessment that we share few if any values and mores. The two sides’ mantras remain diametrically opposite. Left – we want to ‘educate’ you into a TBD submission. Right – we want to separate from you (reasoning with you is futile).
I think that it’s safe to say The Union has positioned its editorial slant firmly to the Left. In addition to its publisher and editor, the paper’s regular left-leaning editorial columnists are George Boardman, Darrell Berkheimer, Lynn Wenzel, and the ever unfathomable Hillary Hodge (example here). Every once in a while they let some conservative editorial board member like Norm Sauer have a go at it. My own favorite from the other side is Mr Boardman who also shares his thoughts with us on these pages. Don’t take this observation as a criticism of The Union, they are a private enterprise with no need to place their ‘fair and balanced’ fulcrum where it might please me. We in the new Nevada County minority know our place.
WSJ’s just ended CEO Summit included Lizzy Warren who was asked four separate times what was her view of how the Dems should proceed from here. She took each opportunity to answer by once again lambasting Trump’s victory and his deplorable transition to a working administration. She and other socialistas do not want to spell out their direction from here, and most certainly they don't want to tell Americans how their new United Socialist States of America would eventually look like. Live frogs have to be boiled slowly.
Stanford just published a study on how young people get their news (here). The short answer is that they don’t. The union educated little darlins can’t tell the difference between an ad and editorial content, let alone a legitimate news story. Even though they spend an average of 7.5hrs/day online, their “media literacy” is near zero, having “slipped to the margins in many classrooms, to make room for increased instruction in basic reading and math skills.” The little dummies pour out of our grade and middle schools with only the ability to reliably parrot progressive slogans.
Bret Stephens, nationally-prominent core purveyor of WSJ’s editorial view, continues the newspaper’s anti-Trump campaign through a critical conduit that pejoratively interprets Steve Bannon’s thinking, especially about nationalism and globalism. Stephens is agin' the former and for the latter. He opposes the notion of ‘America first’ in public discourse because he believes that all Americans’ ideological worldviews already and always put America first, and seeking to differentiate people on that basis is “an implicit accusation of disloyalty” – thoughts prohibited in his US of A. (more here).
[24nov16 update] AP does a gratuitous hit piece (here) posing as news on Trump’s interviewing 'too many' retired military for his administration. We note that almost all of them were the ones forced out of Obama’s legion of lackeys, those who didn’t click their heels and respond with ‘Jawohl mein Führer!’ to the president’s disastrous plans/orders on everything from Gitmo through ISIS to Iran. I look forward to President Trump’s reshuffling and repair of the Pentagon. Along the same vein of yellow journalism, NYT, the infamous lamestream outlet, mangles Trump's views on climate change (here) as reported by a RR reader.
[26nov16 update] 'Dumb American Youth' by Dr Walter Williams again summarizes the stats founding a fundamental stance taken in these pages on the latest batch of functional idiots that our schools are injecting into our electorate and workforce. Understandably the Left celebrates how these people hew to the bullshit that passes for progressive social policy and the courage that these double dummies embody as they follow the likes of Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren. The Left is, of course, silent about the nation's educational system they have destroyed – its function of generating Democrat voters has been fulfilled. Williams also cites Prof Mark Bauerlein's The Dumbest Generation already covered in these pages (here). We are indeed beyond the tipping point.
