The dismal lamestream media is doubling down on its post-election Trump attacks.  In their gratuitous splurge of hit pieces, thinly disguised as news, they are driving the divisive wedge ever deeper and continuing the class warfare program started by Obama – to be sure, they are not like us.  The good news for him and his is that there will be at least one part of his legacy under which the country will continue to suffer.

NPR, AP, et al continue their hit pieces at every opportunity.  This morning’s online edition of AP’s “Top News” was peppered with stories about Trump’s alleged difficulties in selecting his cabinet and senior advisers, protests, vituperative testimonials, … .

Last night VP-elect Pence was treated to a public accusation and lecture on Broadway where he went to see ‘Hamilton’ and then was verbally assaulted from the stage by the cast after curtain calls (here).  The NYT plumbed new depths in yellow journalism hours after offering a mea culpa statement to clean up its scurrilous behavior and start acting more professionally again – stark admittance of what everyone already knew about their publication during the campaign season.

Today every leftwing academic, media, and entertainment personality is trying to outdo each other in the invective they hurl at America’s next president and his assembling team (more here and here).  It is their new raison d’etre now that their public policies have been rejected and are soon to be replaced under the new administration.  In spite of it all, the progressive elites are vowing to double down on their mistakes when next they gain the levers of power.   On these talking head shows what I’m waiting for is some moderator with balls to ask their discontented guest, ‘BTW, shouldn’t you be in Canada by now?’

Ramirez is a genuius… “Applause Will Sound”!
Alas, empty promises, a wager placed with the expectation a loss can’t happen.
The next two to four years should be particularly interesting… gun issues will again come to the fore with the SCOTUS regaining a pro-2nd majority and brand spanking new Blue state “common sense” regulations that are anything but, including our Prop 63 which steps on both gun ownership and interstate commerce. Challenges are said to be ready to roll.
Then there is the EPA’s carbon jihad which is likely to be stopped in its tracks.
Gavin Schmidt, Czar of NASA-GISS (perhaps the only NASA group that rejects satellite measurements in favor of heavily adjusted terrestrial temperature gauges) has warned Trump not to cut his department… I wonder how well that will work? If that actually trickles up to Trump, I’d guess not very well.
Then there’s Common Core, and the Trump Dept. of Education transition lead is the Hoover Institute’s Williamson “Bill” Evers who has been pushing back on Constructivist education for at least 20 years. His HOLD (Honest Open Logical Debate) parent’s group in Palo Alto being the first during California’s Math Wars in the ’90’s in reacting to math fluency in PA taking a tumble when the Whole Math debacle started… I drove to a Palo Alto school auditorium for a presentation with all sides present including Bill Honig who kicked off the new ways to teach but hadn’t intended for traditional math to be trashed. But trashed it was thanks to Phil Daro, author of whole math at the state level in the ’90’s and now the original Chair and continued lead author of the Common Core State Standards (that no state had a role in drafting) in Mathematics, despite Daro having no degrees whatsoever in mathematics. In fact, his progression at Berkeley was first majoring in physics, then majoring in math, and finally majoring in English so he could graduate. HINT: strong students in physics and math will generally complete the major.
But hey, in the world of Common Core you can have someone who lacks the credentials and credibility to be hired to teach math at NU High School set the standard for the whole country. Is this a great place to live, or what?
Guns, climate, education. There may be primal screams in our future just over those issues.

They never have liked us. Never. Now they really really hate us. More today than yesterday. And more tomorrow than yesterday.
They are not moving to Canada. The MSM is the biggest sprewer of fake news. They have become obsessive and petty. Best to just keep pushing forward and pay them no mind. The longer the anti-Trump demonstrations go on, the more repulsive they appear to the general population and tarnishes the image of the Leftist side. I hope the protests go on for months and celebrities show what airheads they are each time they open their mouths. It shows all of America how out of touch, insignificant, how silly, how breathtaking butt ass stupid they are. All this plays well into our hands and offers bigger future openings than I thought. Mark the tape.
And yes, the MSM, academia, and the “entertainment industry” cannot not stop themselves. The Left is moving stark raving radical left at breakneck speed to help our cause. It’s all good news. But (always a but)…never ever think that they are not extremely dangerous, no matter how infantile they act.
Oh, yeah, the courtesy pic or two because I cannot not stop myself.

Move to Canada? Not me George. I’m quite happy with the direction Nevada County is going. Lots of independents and fewer Repubs per acre than in recent memory.
IN a parallel thought causes me again to encourage Todd to move to Modoc
County since Nevada County is now solid blue . There are more of the old fashioned red neck Republicans up there that he can feel comfortable with.

    Just looked at an Ipsos poll that was done before the election and held back because of its explosive results on immigration policy;
Immediate deportation of criminal/gang illegals- 75% support
Detaining or immediately deporting all illegals- 62% support
Cut back on legal immigration- 57% support
Fine businesses who hire illegals- 67% support
I can see why they did not release it until now.

That’s good news for the rec growers Don. It will be back to normal with minimal risk and high profits. Marijuana laws are unenforceable on a Federal level except for really large grows which everyone is opposed to. As to the small grower-30-60 plants the Feds won’t bother. It’s not cost effective.

Besides that Don I thought you were for States Rights in that matter except for large exporting situations. Trump is on record saying he supports medical MJ 100% and it should be left up to the states. What is your view Don? States rights or no?
Here is Trumps position as expressed to O’Reilly. Of course Trump says one thing one time and then changes his mind when it’s convenient.
“In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state,” Trump told The Washington Post. “… Marijuana is such a big thing. I think medical should happen — right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states.”
He has also expressed support for medical marijuana, telling Bill O’Reilly in February that he’s, “in favor of medical marijuana 100%.”
“I know people that have serious problems and they did that they really — it really does help them,” Trump said. ”

Solid blue, Paul? Most folk in Nevada County who voted, voted against the Democrat.
They also voted against the gun control measure and voted for the GOP candidates for the state legislature, and more than half voted for the GOP congressional candidates.
I realize that 48%/44% Dem/GOP gives throws the local blue meanies a life preserver but 48/44 is still (repeat after me) a toss up by the RCP convention… not at all something to bank on and laughable compared to the majorities in the Bay area.
In the meantime, the first public employer in California to default on the bill sent by CalPERS has arrived. Yes, tiny Loyalton in Sierra County paid everything required while their four pensioners were still on the payroll but they’ve choked on the continuing bills from CalPERS to cover continuous CalPERS screwups long after they retired.
They won’t the last to just say no… and the generous pension plan is one of the lynchpins of California’s Democratic machine.

I haven’t bother to follow the new dope regs. Where did Paul come up with 30-60 plants? Is that the new recreational pot limits? No bother. Google earth will point the places not in compliance in if need to borrow some tomatoes. At least the county will rake in the dough at 100 bucks a plant (I heard somewhere). . Enough money to add a few more enforcement officers to bust the offenders, rake in the cash, and minimize risk. A good thing. 30-60 plants? Learn something new everyday.

PE, you are misremembering, I am against ANY kind of export across state lines. Prop 215 and AB266 are the law in CA. We sill have to flesh out 266 next year. I would expect the Trump administration to adopt a SAM like approach to medical, remember President Trump is only ok with some kind of medical, not recreational. Sessions will not be letting Sean Parkers dream of big industrial recreational weed come true. 😉

The General once hopped in a fox hole and spent the night in the dirt with his troops on the front line miles away from the command post in Afghanistan. A no nonsense yet very fair man. States’ Rights are paramount to us. Many states have laws that exceed Federal guidelines which is ok with me. California vehicle MPG and emissions standards come to mind. States can exceed standards, but not fall below guidelines.
The real issue here is not growing dope locally, an issue that is dear to Paul’s heart. The real issue here is Paul is a one hit wonder. Nevada City and a few selected parts of the county are where Paul’s worldview begins and ends. No problem with that. Has nothing to do with the new Administration or the new Senator from CA. Whoever coined the phrase “All politics is local” certainly had Mr. Emery in mind.
I get it. Spending ones life on Off Broad Street, listening all day everyday to alternative radio, immersing oneself into the local bar music scene, and rubbing elbows all day with folks who grow dope…..well, it would make one believe that pot is the savior of the local economy and, like Utopia, will have no downside, no problems, just perfect little plots and all is well.
Yes, we all have the inalienable right to freedom to associate with whom we choose, a right that precedes government. The general election just was background noise to Paul. His glorious victories that consume his world are all based on growing recreational dope. Not much else. His world stops at the Nevada City line, unless he heads to the ER or goes for a dip down by the river.. Let Paul relish in his victories. He is transforming his Hood into his own image. Without growing dope legally and without no stigma attached, Paul’s world would be crashing down on top of him. It is the most important thing to him. Yep, like many bands, a one hit wonder.

I fully expect the loyal opposition to do their best to run the Trump administration off its rails but it appears Trump will be pulling one Reagan trick… getting his message to his followers directly. Reports from Trump’s “off the record” meeting with elite media today was apparently not as the media expected, a meeting to help define media access… it was reported to be a “f-ing firing squad” where Trump told them what he thought of them, including a labeling of CNN as a pack of liars, possibly because CNN acted like a pack of liars during the election season.
