While I’m working on a piece to again attempt – more graphically this time – to explain the fragility of highly categorized poll results, the news of the election’s uncertain outcome pours in.  Readers should take special note of the financial markets in which the big kids such as the very wealthy, institutional funds, corporations and corporatists, and nation-states play.  A look at the way they are placing their bets today indicates these people are extremely anxious in their ignorance about the results of 8 November.  As an example I point you to today’s ‘Selling Sweeps Global Government Bonds; U.S. 10-Year Yield Above 1.8%’ that reports on how the market for the ‘risk free’ securities is behaving.  The financially astute recall it is the risk-free Treasuries’ rate that underpins all other rates for leveraging the purchase of everything from houses through commodities to corporations.

However, in these pages we are fortunate to have readers who are blessed with powers of insight that totally abolish all such doubts, having replaced it with the certitude of Job to know and assure the rest of us on the outcome of the upcoming election, especially when we focus on the race for president.  Perhaps it would be a public service if some of these shrewd rural county Californians would deign pick up the phone or write an email to those nail biters on Wall Street and the world’s financial centers, and share their wisdom to resolve the matter, thereby restoring a blessed quietude over the roiling markets.  Methinks it would be the least they could do in these troubled times.

[28oct16 update]  Ramirez pretty much sums it up.

[29oct16 update]  A reader and correspondent with a penchant for simple but effective solutions suggests a simple but expedient household implement to explore how Hillary might look under a less corrupt justice system.  Such exercises also help lighten the mind-numbing news and pundit commentaries that overflow pre-election cable programming.

Hillary’s bullying of Trump supporters has been akin to her bullying on the climate. Here’s a bona fide hurricane expert calling BS on her climate claims:

OK – and the arabs that execute gays and treat women like dirt have their money in on Hillary. Literally.
So – who are you voting for Boardman?
We already know Paul is voting for Johnson – not because he’s a Libertarian. Trump is just as much if not more of a Libertarian than Johnson.
The sad thing is that when Hillary rides the country into the ground, she’ll blame the Rs and the press will go right along with it. Obama is now blaming the Rs for the collapse of his idiot health care fiasco. The press is playing right along.
I don’t care who wins. I’m concerned with our nation now full of un-educated fools, bobble heads and greedy good for nothings that only want a govt to give them everything.
Folks that pointed out how incompetent and untruthful Obama was were called racist – Hillary will play the same card and hide behind her gender. Count on it.

Here is why we need Trump and not the crooked Hillary in charge of the Justice Department.
    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2016/10/27/oregon-standoff-leaders-acquitted/92859662/
The Bundy’s and their cohorts were found “not guilty” in that dustup in Oregon. Yet the Judge would not release Amun Bundy because the Feds have other charges elswjere and told the Judge to keep him locker up. Tyranny folks? And apparently 10 Marshals tackled the Attorney for Bundy as he was arguing for Bundy’s release with the Judge. Never heard of anything like that in my life.
Hillary though gets nothing for her lawbreaking. In fact she could be the next President. The country is loosing its mind.

“Biden himself is apparently unfamiliar with the news. Neither Clinton, a former secretary of state herself, nor her aides, have informed the former Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman that he’s most likely to oversee international affairs if she wins.
“He’d be great, and they are spending a lot of time figuring out the best way to try to persuade him to do it if she wins,” said the source familiar with the transition planning.
Biden – how can anyone even consider him as SOS?
    Well, apparently Hillary does.
Remember – if some one knocks on your door and you don’t know who it is – just empty your shotgun through the door – ala Joe Biden.
    Sounds really reasonable.

Todd at 7:31 – remember why they organized the protest and takeover in the first place.
The Oregon ranchers that were put in prison, served all of their time and then were put back in prison, again for the same crime.
They set back-fires to save their grazing land from a fire on BLM land that the Feds couldn’t seem to put out.
It just so happens that these same ranchers had pissed off Fed BLM boo-hoos because they had refused to sell their family ranch to the Feds. And they had stood up to the Feds after the Feds had illegally tried to then
restrict their access to public roads.
How long was Bundy grilled by the Feds? Longer than Hillary was ‘interviewed? And was it under oath? Did Bundy get to have his pals sit with him and talk privately after each question by the Feds?
Equal justice under the law? Not any longer. Not even close.

More on the AI program that is predicting a Trump win:
“An artificial intelligence (AI) system that correctly predicted the last three U.S. presidential elections puts Republican nominee Donald Trump ahead of Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House. MogIA was developed by Sanjiv Rai, the founder of Indian start-up Genic.ai. It takes in 20 million data points from public platforms including Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in the U.S. and then analyzes the information to create predictions. The AI system was created in 2004, so it has been getting smarter all the time. It had already correctly predicted the results of the Democrat and Republican Primaries.”
This is an application of AI and Big Data Analysis. Big data analysis is providing some interesting insights in multiple instances, insights that are often hidden from even dedicated observers. Anyone want to bet against the machine?

Perhaps this should be under a different post, but this will do.
Re: The old GOP is dead. Welcome to the face of tomorrow today.
Tomorrow Politico will come out with a nice article about populism in the GOP. Duh, they are only 12 years too late. Win or lose, populism is the few face of the Deplorable Republican Party. There will be no Bushism in 2020 if Trump loses. There will be no Clintonism on the political landscape if Trump wins. Either way, Bushism is dead now and so is Clintonism before 2020.
No more having to really moderate our rhetoric on abortion, illegal immigration, the economy. outreach to freaks, kissing the butts of criminals, social engineering, and our public education establishment, which is an abortion in and of itself when one considers what they have done to our school children.
In an unseen but clear way, the conservatives have won. Free trade is not an the issue if it is fair trade. No more joining Hillary and Jeb and “The Establishment” in a rush to war to play wag the dog. No more going along to get along. Sure, corny capitalism will always exist because of who you know is who you blow, but Bushism/Rubioism will not be the face of the GOP no more. No kissing the ring of the Chamber of Commerence and being forced to support the TTPT or whatever it is called.
Welcome to populism in various forms leading the way for the GOP. Politico.com is just late to the party as is typical for the elite media to think they just discovered something insightful.
Full disclosure, or speaking from the heart: I liked George W. Bush and his gracious wife Laura personally. I like the man as a man. It’s not all black and white. So, when Trump slapped George W and his Daddy and his brother up the side of their heads and spit in their faces, I had a big “ouch moment.” Then the stomping on the “hero narrative” of POW McCain was like a blow to my stomach. Knocked the air out of me for a few hours. BUT, and this is the BIG BUT, but they are in the way. They had to be wiped off the table to make room for the rowdy conservatives. Sometimes a swift kick in the teeth is the best way to break up with someone rather than “we still can be good friends” or “It’s not you, it’s me” song and dance. A clean break.
Gov. Nikki from South Carolina stood against Trump and her political aspirations are she is going down the toilet. Nice lady. But, the R voters in SC have other plans. She sounds like Boardman shouting Trump had not disavowed the KKK!!!! Trump said back in the primaries that he would not ever dignify the question with an answer. Go pound sand, Nikki and Boardman. Today, Gov Nikki with her political future going down in flames, just endorsed Trump. She sees the handwriting on the wall. Keep your eyes on the prize.
Paul, the nomination process worked. The GOP nominated the only person on the planet that had a snow balls chance in hell to beat Hillary. The rest would have been crushed. In the last debate, Chris Wallace opened with abortion. Every R big wig would have run from that and gave a good PC non answer answer. Trump charged forward and then tied Hillary to late term abortions. He boxed Hillary into supporting abortion the hour before birth!!, lol. He said she is a liar, a horrible crooked person, she enables rapists, and does not know what the fudge she is doing in forgein policy. A disaster. Fist pumping in the air time for the rowdy conservative populists.
Get used to it. The GOP is the face of everyday Americans and the Dems are the face of folks bending over and kissing George Soros’s ring and asking “Mother may I? Is it Ok to say Mother? Is that sexist?”

We do live in interesting times. USC poll has Trump rising 2% in the last four days and Clinton falling about the same, and Trump ahead of Clinton nearly 2% as a result.
Comey announcing the FBI is reopening due to emails that have just come to their attention is big. Really big. A week anna half until election day, this is the stuff of campaign nightmares.
What happens if Comey comes out in a few days, before the election, to say the FBI now recommends indictment of Hillary Clinton? Even if he says a variation of never mind, it still ain’t good press.
Limbaugh is on a rant that it could be Comey just doing a feint to get folks off of the story coming out of the latest wikileaks of the Clintons profiteering from their Foundation to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars because one thing Americans don’t like is money given to “charity” going into someone’s pocket… but I don’t think Comey is that much of a political whore… it’s more likely to me that he’s reopening the case to reverse that impression.

    Todd, too little to late.
Reader’s Digest version: just acknowledging Obama and Hilary exchanged e-mails on Hillary’s privately owned non government server is a de facto guilty plea for all intents and legal purposes. All communications from POTUS are classified, even if he was asking how her yoga classes went.
The Clinton Foundation and its numerous limited partnerships and CGI are the real story. Always said that the e-mails ain’t going anywhere, albeit I played along in fainted outrage. But, I always said that the William Hillary & Chelsea Foundation is the story that has legs solely because everybody can wrap their heads around quid pro quo. It’s really the CGI that is where the stank is (Canadian law does not require the names of donors to be revealed) and the CGI was setup through Canada for that exact purpose. All done through a Price Waterhouse branch in Little Rock.
With that said, the common person will group them (the Foundation subsets) all in one basket of Deplorable Deeds and with quid pro quo, it is the appearance of hanky panky that counts, not convictions. IMHO.
Back on topic. Trump just announced the breaking news in the middle of a rally. He said “after this news, everything I say next will be boring.” LOL. Wikileaks makes front page of NYT and Wa Po today. They can’t make them go away no more.

Polls. 1) Ok, the indies are breaking for Trump. That is a 10-12% slice of the total pie. Nothing to sneeze at.
    2) those who lie to pollsters and everybody that they are not voting for Trump. I say that is at least 5% going to Trump who are errorously polled. Don’t forget those 5+% are taking away 5% from the others in the race that they told pollster they are voting for.
3). The uncounted. Nobody is taking about them. No, not 18 year olds voting for the first time. We kinda know how they will break. It’s the ones (I know a couple myself) that have not voted in 20, 25, 30 years. They never voted, Think is all bullshit. But in 2016, they went out and registered. Those are the votes that nobody knows if they will vote or how. It’s a one time shot for them. No party allegiance and they may not even care if the are officially registered as a D, R, I, or Greenie. They don’t care. They are voting for Trump. The uncounted, the unpolled, the invisible ones. Another 3-5% I hazard to guess. Trumpsters in the wings. Polls??? Dead heat?. Undecided are deciding right about now. Does have the potential for an Nov. 8 shocker. Shock and awe?

I asked them questions – that usually gets rid of trolls. Not that I want them to go away. I welcome banter and back and forth. But they are just bobble heads. They have have no thinking process or an opinion that is formed from accrual of facts and data. They read the party line and keep a close tack to where the line is drawn for them.
I’m wondering if Comey has blown all of the money the Clintons gave him and he is throwing this new item out as a way of ‘raising’ a few more million from the Dems. Don’t get too excited. There was already enough evidence to throw Bill and Hillary in prison for life years ago and nothing ever seemed to touch them. Why is this going to be any different? We can speculate forever. Some one in the FBI maybe has the goods and covered himself well enough to challenge the party line without fearing an untimely death or accident?
Maybe Comey looked in the mirror and thought deep and hard? Goodness only knows. The voting has already started. Hillary has the electoral college locked. All of the boo-hoo Dems that screamed because Al won the popular vote but lost the college will now stoutly defend the system if it goes the other way this time.
Again, I say it doesn’t matter who wins because the country is a mess. We are deeply divided as to which direction we take and up to our ears in debt. The hard road back to fiscal solvency is hopeless.
Schadenfreude seems to be the best we can now hope for on either side. As if that helps our nation.
    Enjoy!

GeorgeB 1133am – Mr Boardman, was maintaining a reliable supply of oil for the west a mitigating factor in choosing who we trade with and which governments we subvert? (BTW, it was not “the legitimate king of Iran” that was overthrown, but the communist prime minister of a constitutional government who was ready to provide the USSR with its long-sought access to warm water oceans in a geo-strategic region critical to the west. The coup restored the Iranian monarchy as a western ally/puppet.)
And should we limit our trading and dealing to only nations that share our values and mores? Nations have multi-attribute utilities to serve their best interests. And the attribute of squeaky cleanness on human rights should come up for consideration only after some of the more pragmatic attributes have been satisfied.

George(s), I suspect the one who was elected prime minister, in bed with the Soviets and giving himself dictatorial powers, would be considered the “legitimate king” by some. However, the rightful Shah acceded to CIA requests for him to support the coup when Mossadegh went too far grabbing power. This was Cold War Realpolitik where the good guys weren’t 100% good; a 100% good by modern standards would have lost the Cold War. A nasty business.
The GOP president in this case was Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was remarkably popular as the man who managed the war against the Nazis.

Chicago Tribune – From liberal land:
If ruling Democrats hold themselves to the high moral standards they impose on the people they govern, they would follow a simple process:
They would demand that Mrs. Clinton step down, immediately, and let her vice presidential nominee, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, stand in her place.
Democrats should say, honestly, that with a new criminal investigation going on into events around her home-brew email server from the time she was secretary of state, having Clinton anywhere near the White House is just not a good idea.
Since Oct. 7, WikiLeaks has released 35,000 emails hacked from Clinton campaign boss John Podesta. Now WikiLeaks, no longer a neutral player but an active anti-Clinton agency, plans to release another 15,000 emails.
What if she is elected? Think of a nation suffering a bad economy and continuing chaos in the Middle East, and now also facing a criminal investigation of a president. Add to that congressional investigations and a public vision of Clinton as a Nixonian figure wandering the halls, wringing her hands.

The Clinton Campaign is crumbling, as her support slips away!

Cosmic Rays And Climate Change Politics
    http://dailycaller.com/2016/10/24/cosmic-rays-and-climate-change-politics/
The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been the backbone of a skeleton that the Democrats drag out like a cheap Halloween decoration to scare Americans. Yet the IPCC has repeatedly predicted global temperatures incorrectly. Their reports have shown a larger projected global temperature change in relation to the increase of the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in our atmosphere than has been observed. The historical data suggests that the amount of CO2 has little to no effect on global temperature, yet the IPCC still insists that the earth’s temperature is highly sensitivity to changes in CO2. The IPCC misleads the public to believe that the global temperature reacts dramatically to small changes in CO2 by publishing fake historical temperature records that erase the Medieval Warm Period and joining datasets from different measurement techniques to create false trends.
If Hillary Clinton wins and the Democrats get there way, the federal government will continue to spend $22.5 billion a year on a public trough of cash for never-ending climate impact studies. By comparison, the National Institutes of Health spends only $32.3 billion per year on medical research.
    Gregory will like this solution:
But how can conservatives fight back on the science front? Consider the revolutionary and relatively new cosmic ray theory, also known as Cosmoclimatology. The theory suggests our climate is primarily driven by cosmic rays and solar winds. The Earth experiences ice-ages whenever we pass through an arm of the Milky-way galaxy. The arms produce lots of cosmic rays that create more clouds, reflect our sun’s light, and reduce global temperature. The theory also explains how our sun’s solar wind modulates cosmic ray exposure, reducing cloud cover and allowing more sunlight through the atmosphere thus heating it up. These forces account for a very significant portion of global temperature fluctuations and have been ignored by the IPCC. The theory has been championed by Professor Nir Shaviv at the Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Professor Jan Veizer from the University of Ottowa, and Professor Henrik Svensmark from the Danish National Space Institute.
