[edited] RR reader Mr Gary Smith comments that this short speech to players attributed to Clark Hunt, CEO and Owner of the Kansas City Chiefs most likely is a piece of hopeful fiction.  With apologies for the original post and many thanks to Mr Smith, I still wish that Hunt or some other NFL owner would have the balls to say these words. "You are all simply paid performers on a stage and that field is my stage!  You will stand, with your hand over your heart and with respect, when our country's national anthem is being played or you will no longer be a Kansas City Chief, a Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs or have any association with the Chiefs Organization!  I will immediately fire you, no matter who you are! You can make your political statements off the field, but when you're employed by me and I'm signing your check, I demand that you make our fans proud and not embarrass them."  (more here)

That huge fractions of our young, specifically the voting Millennials, are abysmally ignorant should not come as news to RR readers.  But how dumb they really are and what that portends for our nation is simply breathtaking.  The well-respected polling organization YouGov published a recent poll on the knowledge and attitudes of our young people that included the 16+ year olds with Millennials (born from about 1980 to 2000).  The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation published a report on attitudes toward socialism held by younger Americans who appear ready to vote themselves into an autocracy.  Some of the beliefs they hold are –

  • 45% of 16-20 year olds would vote for a “Socialist”; 21% for a “Communist”
  • One-third of Millennials Believe George W. Bush Killed More People Than Stalin
  • Vast Majority Unaware of Communism’s Death Toll
  • More Millennials Prefer Words of Karl Marx Over the Bible
  • Bernie Sanders’ Philosophy Wins More Support Than Milton Friedman’s

HR departments are becoming a danger to tech companies, something I already experienced about 15 years ago as an executive at a high flying dotcom.  A reader sent me this piece by Helen Smith writing in PJ Media‘Could Social Justice Warriors Ruin Your Tech Company?’.  There we read –

Over a third of adults under 35 now live with their parents. Young men are working much less and playing video games much more as they fail to find good jobs, and the rates of marriage and family formation are way down. More people of all ages have given up trying to find a job. Meanwhile, companies report a shortage of skilled workers, and many good jobs remain unfilled for months or years. … Human Resources (HR) departments are widely disliked, and job searchers are generally advised to contact the hiring manager directly if they really want to be considered for a job. There are good reasons why HR acts like an arm of the government bureaucrats pressuring companies to hire more protected minorities and women–because that's what they are, in many companies.

Evidence that Hillary Clinton broke the law now rolls in daily in the continuing release of Clinton emails and the detailed reading of those already in the public domain.  Yesterday we discovered additional evidence directly from the FBI that ‘The FBI’s Own Investigation Summary Proves that Hillary Clinton Broke The Law’.  (H/T to reader)

Her long record of misdealings augmented now with ample evidence of criminal behavior, is an existential assault on our justice system for every day that she walks unindicted and free.  And the insult is amplified an order of magnitude when we see her flaunt Title 18 of the US Code as a candidate for the highest office in the land.

Finally for balance, we read Bret Stephens in the 18oct16 WSJ where he inveighs on ‘The Plot Against America’, a hit piece on The Donald as an anti-semite-in-waiting while being careful to state that “there is no evidence” of Mr Trump’s “personal animus toward Jews”.  Nevertheless, Stephens argues that Trump’s candidacy is “manna to every Jew-hater.”

With some trepidation I look forward to tomorrow night’s last presidential debate moderated by Fox News’ Chris Wallace.  Wallace is FN’s most liberal frontline host and joins colleagues Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier as the network’s anti-Trump triumvirate.  (More moderate to pro-Trump in FN’s frontline are Bill O’Reilly, Brit Hume, and Sean Hannity.)  I also believe Wallace to be FN’s weakest interviewer who does not effectively pursue issues, misses the obvious follow-on questions (especially with Democrats), and focuses mostly on softball sensationalism du jour.

Do you think hair length should be measured as to it’s actual length or it’s length after being sprayed with whatever it takes to keep it stuck on top.

Here’s the grim reality for the Trumpsters according to RCP.
    Hillary has 256 solid delegates
    Trump has 170
    There are 112 toss-ups available
Hillary has only to win 15 to be over the 270 top
Trump has to win 101 0f the toss up delegates.
    nuff said on that matter.

Free speech is to get government out and keep government out.. Commerical speech is a horse of a different color. That has been thr bug up my bum bum since Colin took a knee. Any employer can say exactly what the Chiefs big chief said. My boss can pull me aside and say the word “Pollock” is henceforth banned. No little American flag on your vehicle either, caprice?
The NFL banned the Dallas Cops Lives Matter blue spikes (cleats) because that was on the field, game on. There are strict uniform rules spelled out. They said taking a knee was ok because it was before the game. It’s their right….as long as private contracts with players say otherwise. Its this ignorant “free speech” definition that is being erroneously bantered about that sticks in my poop chute.
But, we circled this wagon before….ironically right after that 78 year old elderly slender long haired white dude threw his elbow into a Trump protestor flipping off the crowd inside some arena in Charolette (read The Confederacy), North Carolina. Or was it after the freeway being blocked in Phoneix, Arizona (read a Red State in play). Or Chicago. Or the rally in Cincinatti?
    Topic sidebar:
Man o man. Trump hit a raw nerve. Bullseye. Not the e-mails, not the Wikileaks, not banning apple pie. He said something about voter fraud. Widespread voter fraud. Judging by all the MSN’s instant reaction (not reply) combined with POTUS’s unusual No Drama Obama freakout and the DNC and RINO’s knee jerk reaction (not response), I can only say “By Jove, he cut deep with that one.” Drain the Swamp.

Paul, the RCP average had Romney winning four years ago by several percent, while the RAND poll, now USC/LA Times, had the popular vote nailed within a half percent, a clear Obama win.
Today the USC poll has Trump up 1.6%, the RCP average has Hillary up 6.7%. If USC is correct, the RCP electoral count has missed 8.3% of the vote that’s going to trump and I expect that would slam the elector count in Trump’s favor. It’s HUUUUUGE.
No one knows for sure, place your bets. It looks like the slime is sloshing towards swamping Hillary’s boat today… what with the folks boasting of being behind the dirty tricks at Trump rallies (got one cancelled, blocked a freeway leading to one in AZ, getting fights started) were on the Hillary campaign payroll. Could be advantage Trump over the next three weeks.

GaryS 817am – Thank you for that input Mr Smith. Since this speech is now widely publicized, I have been waiting for a subsequent quote from Clark Hunt denying its provenance. None has been forthcoming, but your link makes a good point about its veracity. I will edit the post.
fish 901am – Any such government policy in a liberal democracy can quickly change it an environment of broad-based denunciation of neighbors that was a constant in the USSR, Stasi infested East Germany, and other communist/socialist regimes around the world. With government involvement this will become something very different from today’s voluntary ‘See something? Say something.’

    The Internet.
Yep, it’s getting hard to know what to believe, or if a story may be 100% true, yet redacted or denied by an embarrassed subject of an article.
An recent example was a link I posted from Infowars. It contained a Wikileaks leak that no one else picked up on. It made me reluctant to post the link because sometimes Infowars is off base or deals in rumors. With that said, nobody is refuting the validity of the contents of Wikileaks. I find bits and pieces everywhere. I have seen Wikileaks tidbits posted solely on Politico and the Huff-n-Post as well. With thousands of leaks out there, each site picks up what they find enlightening or want to be the first to get it out on the information highway. Sometimes they are the only place a particular e-mail chain is exposed.
Personally, I am most disappointed with the National Enquirer story. I got wind of a big story coming, but who cares if Hillary swings both ways. That story has no legs as it helps nor hurts either side. I want stories on corruption, high crimes and misdemeanors, and deception.
I enjoy the inner workings and discussions between political hacks and find the sausage making interesting. A refreshing rare glimpse. While e-mails between political operatives showing contempt for, say Catholics, those bigoted comments cannot be put in Hillary’s mouth (to be fair). But it does show the people Hillary has hand picked to surround her. And, by association, Hillary’s mindset and decision process. For example, The DNC put their thumb on the scale to favor Hillary over Bernie. Once caught (no one disputed the validity of the leaks), Debbie Whatzhername Screech was fired. She was immediately hired by Hillary. So, the leaks show the inner workings of political operatives AND in by extension the inner workings of the mind of Hillary. Fired and hired in the same breath.
The leaks themselves have shown what a crock it is for CNN to say we must go through them to know what are in the leaks. Judging by what the leaks reveal about the MSM and CNN in particular, CNN is the least qualified source to get any view of both sides of the coin…..assuming the coin is even allowed to be discussed or ever come to light.
Nothing in the leaks has surprised me or revealed anything new. Sure, there are details exposed we never would have known, but the bigger picture has been common knowledge to my ilk for years. And we have been ruthlessly ridiculed for crying “unfair!” and something smells like a rat. What some call shocking or a smoking gun is what I call common knowledge for years in general. Like a biased media is something new? The game is rigged for the insiders is news? Most journalists have their political beliefs overshadow objective reporting? Heck, they have always worn their personal beliefs on their sleeve. That is new?
The Wikileaks are a non story in general because no matter what they reveal, it does not matter. The narrative is more important than the facts to partisans. An inconvenient truth per se. Here is an example. It would not change one mind since it goes contrary to the narrative.
    http://heatst.com/culture-wars/no-correlation-between-voting-for-brexit-and-racism-study-finds/?mod=sm_fb_post
I used to take everything I read coming from MSM with a grain of salt. Now I need a pillar of salt and spend time researching what was edited out. The what is not said is more important than what was said sometimes.
Oh, Wallace ain’t his daddy nor posseses. Anything near a deep thinker mind. He is shallow at best. Just saying.

The Independent in the UK had an interesting article about betting patterns. They noted that the betting pattern that was seen right before brexit is being replicated in the US Presidential election. Just as in the brexit vote the majority of the money is backing madam liar liar pantsuits on fire to the tune of 71% of total $$. The kicker is that 65% of the bets are for Trump. Small betters are overwhelmingly backing Trump. The odds are falling, 12 to 1 just days ago to 4 to 1 as of yesterday. The brexit pattern exactly. 😉

Donald Trump is a hypersensitive candidate who lashes out “almost uncontrollably” to criticism, Republicans shouldn’t exploit Russian hacks on Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and the election is not rigged.
It’s hard to imagine Republicans making a better argument for Clinton just hours ahead of the third and final presidential debate.
With Trump trailing nationally and in a number of battleground state polls — and even Arizona — Clinton’s campaign is expecting Trump to deploy a scorched-earth approach to their Las Vegas bout. But fellow Republicans unexpectedly placed a rhetorical firewall around the real estate mogul.
Indeed, if Newt Gingrich stepped on Trump’s toes by inadvertently highlighting his thin skin as a weakness that “I hope he grows out of,” Marco Rubio and John Kasich then stomped on both of his feet.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a top Trump surrogate, dealt the first blow when he offered a candid assessment of Trump’s shortcomings, including an expansion on his notion of Big Trump, Little Trump.
“There’s a piece of his personality, which is very sensitive, particularly to anything which attacks his own sense of integrity or his own sense of respectability, and he reacts very intensely, almost uncontrollably, to those kinds of situations,” Gingrich acknowledged during an interview conducted Tuesday and published Wednesday with the Washington Examiner’s David Drucker.
“I think that’s a weakness,” he added. “I hope he grows out of it.”

Like this is new, Paul? Doom and gloom. Ok, Trump’s chances are like from zero to miracle needed? Sure, keep falling for it. The Dems’ biggest concern is that nobody will bother to even vote for Hillary. A well planned event for Hillary that is a smashing success is drawing a crowd of nearly 500. Those are few and far between. There ain’t no enthusiasm there. There is no “there” there.
Her only chance is to put under wraps in her hideaway and send her more liked surrogates out to plead for voters to vote. Even Obama went from his usual confident gabfest at yesterday’s rally to the adoring faithful spoke in a broken whisper begging the sheeple to vote. It tore at me heart to see a grown man plead and implore and beg. He could barely speak. Same with Biden and Mr. Grinch Look Alike Kaine and Algore. And Bubba and Chelsea. They know, they know.
14% of our fellow citizens believe in Big Foot. 9% believe Hillary is honest when speaking. The 14% do not speak for me. The 91% do. They know, they know.
“It’s over! ” It’s over. That is the barrage we always get. First the porn chick from Venezuela, then the Friday night audio tapes with Billy Bush 11 years ago, and now the flood of “Its over!” Like this does not happen every time?
The only chance Hillary has is to discourage the Trumpsters so much that they might believe it is over and not bother to vote. Lord only knows knows how the other side is down in the dumps. Way down. Keep Hillary out of the public view, have others rally the troops with close pins on their noses, and release the 24/7 carpet bombing of “it’s over”
Rubio? You are joking, right? He couldn’t even get 13% in his home state. Tells me you think the Tea Party died and went away. Too funny. Bush got what, 8%? Newt ain’t on the ballot.
I ain’t saying I have reason to disagree with any poll 3 weeks before an election. Same spot Reagen was on October 28th. 38% for. Exact same spot, but Trump ain’t no Reagen. But what was brewing across the land then kinda smells like it does now. It also tells me that you, like a council woman from Nevada City, both took the bait, hook line and sinker. You are excellent puppeteers for the very ones you decry. You do their handiwork. Never thought of you as a sheeple. Learn something new everyday.
It does not look good right now. It looks just fine. Think it is almost time to put the armor on. Best time is when others are taking theirs off. The real battle starts next week. Yeah, a moment of silence couldn’t hurt. Keep us in your prayers as we a few, they are many. Evil has reared its ugly head and must be slain.

“”The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child.
