[Putin is making nice with Iran and Turkey, two competitors for the new Mideast hegemon.  That sure looks like the latest, and possibly the worst, Foxtrot Uniform of Obama's foreign policy, leaving Russia as the new 'go-to power' if you want to get anything done in the region.  When you decide to lead from behind, then the view never gets any better and the smell gets worse.  gjr]

Latest Clinton E-Mail Defense: Blame Colin Powell. He made me do it. It’s all is Powell’s fault. Those notes from the FBI interview much be something else because it is too classified for most but a few to be able to even look at. But, but, but I thought there was no there there, lol. No wonder the Clinton Campaign is going ape trying to stop the release of her FBI little nothing to see here interview.

“A very simple question, if George W. Bush was president right now and playing golf with celebrities in one of the richest zip codes in the country, would the headlines again be everywhere that portray him as insensitive, out-of-touch, even a racist president be the same now as they were 2005? Of course they would. Instead, President Obama continues his vacation that includes fundraising events for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and the relative silence is deafening.”

As Americans these days are, in large measure….morons….I expect Paul Emery to drop in and breathlessly announce that the presidents approval numbers have gone up three percentage points since the flooding in Louisiana.

Regarding Katrina, had Bush landed, civilian aviation, including helicopter search, rescue and ambulance operations, would have effectively ceased in the area and law enforcement would have shifted to protection of the President.
No, when disasters strike, the President is literally the last person you want to arrive.
On to current events… the USC/LA Times poll has Trump back on top in the popular vote, by a fraction of a percent. Hillary supporters… you didn’t try hard enough. Redouble your efforts before it’s too late. Be louder. More obnoxious. Let people know what you think. You can get Trump to drop out before the “debates” if you try. Make it so.

Weekly poll just tells me the only predictive thing that matters as of today and entering next week: which canadiate is trending north and which is trending south. It’s all about starting to commence to begin momentum at this stage. Static energy begins to be replaced with kenetic energy. The start. When Big Mo starts rolling, it’s all over before the tired old frumpy lady sings. Despite what pundits say, it is not too late. Never has been in August, duh. On time, under budget. Trump has spent a mere 130 million so far. Unheard of. The experts said this was going to be the first billion dollar election. The experts say……
Keeping the powder dry. Don’t shoot the wad until you see the whites of their eyes. Noticed Hillary is taking 96 hours off between speeches. That’s 4 days since she could not even fill a high school gym in Ohio without the student body present. She apparently ain’t worried either, or is only good for 3 days of speeches per week. Poor dear. Fleeing from reporters does wear one out of as we get older. No more running like the wind and leaping fences. Weekends are for relaxation and recuperation. Maybe she is having a little tuck here and a tuck there by her plastic surgeon as she readies herself for another 3 day stump on the campaign trail next week. How she keeps up that pace is a testament to modern medicine.
Meanwhile, Trump is doing up to 3 appearances a day (occasionally 4-5) and on the phone before the crack of dawn. My goodness, does he ever sleep? He is an animal.
Speaking of animals, if Hillary wins Bubba will be the oldest first spouse in American history. Happy B-Day Bubba. 70 years old. Heard your make up artist is working overtime this weekend so the Campaign can issue pics of your special day.

The USC/LA Times poll is daily, not weekly. The analysis, made a couple days ago, missed the crossover last night at midnight when Trump was back on top, if only by a half percent or so. Not much, but considering the concentrated hate since the end of the GOP convention, not all that bad. Every GOP candidate gets the deluxe hatchet job, it’s what the press does; McCain was the press’ best buddy… until he got the nomination and he went from being an American Hero to being a Republican in danger of being President.
They may have done it so much this time the electorate’s eyes are becoming glazed over. Time will tell.

Gregory, I completely agree. Not bad, not bad at all. He should have been buried by now, and really really buried after the 1st debate through today. Boy, is he ever packing them in. Took on former Virginia Gov Kaine and the current Virginia Gov. Lines I liked were “Hillary is a throw back to another time” and the way he laid out the Clinton/Obama/Kaine economy and tax plan, parts of the speech could have been given by a union rally.
If the press ever covered 1/4 of what he said in Virginia today, it would be Boom, Boom!, out goes the lights for Hillary. Now, here comes the but….

Good link Mr. Steele. Dr. Rebane was on to Saul’s tactics when he pointed out that the Clinton Campaign was accusing Trump of exactly what they had been doing themselves and Trump had not.
Yesterday’s media articles showed the Clinton Campaign’s attacking Trump to deflect from the latest 44 e-mails concerning Pay for Play at the sleaze Clinton Foundation and Bubba’s Global’s initiative, not to mention Hillary’s falling apart mentally, physically, and spiritually. Trump is a Putin sympathizer! A pawn of Putin, lol. That is the official response.
Seems to me that Mr. Steele’s link above points to Hillary Incorporated as the ones serving the interests of those darn Ruskies.
Another legal speakese tactic I saw unfold over the weekend was one example of bad sleaze that was made from Bill’s personal office, so the Foundation was not involved. Blame the Global Initiative, not the Chelsea, Bill and Hillary Foundation, lol. Sweet. Yes, they think we are that dumb. Akin to Hillary saying she was truthful to the FBI about handling Classified Intel. Since there was no transcriber present and no transcript of her FBI interview taken, I guess we will have to just take her word for it. However, Intel is not marked as classified. It is called confidential information, lol. She can lie to the American people and use parsed legalize to spout no…..er…..make that no “knowingly” mishandled classified information when it was Confidential along with other labels, but not “classified”. ROFLMAO. Back to it depends on what the definition of “is” is.

A). Random thoughts: been thinking for over a month about Milo’s statement that this is not about Democrat verses Republican per se. I am hearing others pick it up as well. Seems to me on one side we have the Neoliberalists, which the majority of the American citizens have found not to have delivered on anything worthwhile and the majority has judged as wanting. On the right we have voices like me that decries the policies, agenda, and strategies of neoliberalism are dangerous, harmful, and has little in common with why the American rebellion became the American Revolution. Had nothing to do with being a citizen of the globe, IMHO.
I am seeing the labels Nationalist verse Globalist becoming buzz words this election cycle. Either you believe that the Globalist agenda is for the betterment of mankind and therefore should supersede our laws or you don’t. Either you believe in the concentration of power in our Executive branch or you do not. Either you believe we are a Constitutional Republic or you don’t. Either you see our nation as a Constitutional Republic or you see it as something other than a Constitutional Republic. So, to me it gets down to the USA as being founded as a Constitutional Republic for which it stands or it is totally something else, IMHO.
B). Time to smoke them out. Either you agree with this man or you don’t. At least it is all out in the open.

The USC Daybreak poll has a few advantages, one of them being anonymity is assured, unlike cold calls to someone’s phone. Given how Clintonista brownshirts have been seriously assaulting Trump supporters, and even Dilbert toonist Scott Adams writes of being concerned for his safety from Trump haters, a number of pundits are wondering how many “undecided” are in fact Trump supporters waiting for the relative safety of the polling booth.
I’ve no reason to think a poll from USC, the Jesse Unruh Institute and the LA Times is going to be in the tank for Trump.

Todd 1:03 — Did you look at the electoral college projections I posted a link to? It doesn’t sound like it, It sounds more like you just came up with some lame post based the sentence I wrote. I was pointing out, and you obviously missed it, that Bush became president without winning the popular vote, so reliance on one popular vote poll as a source of encouragement for Trump voters, as some people are doing, doesn’t really mean much. Trump may be ahead in the LA/USC poll but is getting hammered in the electoral college count.

Cross at 1:50PM. Of course I know what I am talking about. You seem to think there is no connection between polls nationally or state wide. There is a great one. Historically the press polls nationally to set a tone. They hope top discourage people from voting for the person they dislike. See how easy that was? Anyway, the Electoral College is affected by polls at at all levels. It does set the plate for a “mood” of the voters. Especially the “push-pull” pooling.

I remember well when Bill Clinton was quite upset and disappointed that he never won 50% of the popular vote in securing both terms of his Predidency. It was a goal he especially wanted to begin his 2nd term in 96. Ah heck, Lincoln never got 50% either, nor does it appear any candidate will hit the magic number this year.
I have said national polls are meaningless in the grand scheme because the Electrorial College is where it is at. Well, yes and no. The national tracking polls are indeed important for the reasons Mr. Gregory (?) pointed out. I will use Bernie as an example of which the reader can extrapolate to other candidates and races.
This is how it has worked for decades. The NYT leads the way and just about all of its followers (the MSM) follow suit. First, they pick the one they want to win in the end. Starts with favorable coverage and stories. Hillary then announced and it was on page one of the NYT. Later Bernie announced and it made a column on A-14. But, the media loves a horse race. They love a horse race so much they will create one if neccessary. So, they follow the Dem primary like a horse race and the media turned its attention 180 to Bernie and his huge crowds. After Bernie beat Hillary early on by a 61-39 margin in NH, the NYT came out and endorsed Hillary with its editorial board headline. Remember, Hillary was their pick from day one.
When it became clear that Bernie had no chance with 6-8 races to go, the media became the drive by media and left Betnie standing all by his lonesome. To make matters worse, the media hates losers. They love winners, but really hate losers. Suddenly they started piling on Bernie and barely covered the CA primary if at all. No coverage of The Berners crying foul, that CA was stolen. Trash the Bern, sing Hillary’s praises. Their Gal prevails, happy ending.
So, the national polls do mean something….to the MSM where most folks get their news. If the NYT says it’s over, then watch out as all the knives come out. Thus, Trump must appear to be in the horse race or else they will bury him deeper and deeper until the readers and viewers will think it’s all over. It’s a game of perception…or deception. 🙂
Remember: Thr media favorite was picked months ago. They need a horse race for awhile. Bottomline: They hate losers and savage losers. They chose their winner before it even started. If Hillary can appear to start to pull away, they will declare her the winner prematurely. So, yeah, national polls are important to the game of news coverage.

Let’s see. We have another mentally ill person that was yelling Allah Akbar while attacking our fellow citizens in Virginia, USA. Boy, they are quick to call the Islamic Terrorist “mentally ill.” Everywhere somebody with a knife or machete or ax or gun calling out Allah Arbar is immediately declared “mentally ill”. I agree. You got to be crazy to call out Allah Arbar anywhere.
Alleged ISIS-inspired assualt? Alleged? WTF. My faith in the FBI sadly continues to head south. Alleged? Mentally ill, yes. Inspired by ISIS? Maybe not!
“Federal authorities have been aware of the alleged attacker, 20-year-old Wasil Farooqui of the Roanoke area, for some time, sources familiar with the case told ABC News. In the past year, sources said, he traveled to Turkey and may have tried to sneak into Syria, where ISIS is recruiting and inspiring sympathizers from around the world.”

Large signs, small signs, homemade signs, signs that wrap around barns, signs that go from one end of a fence to another dot the landscape with such frequency that, if you were playing the old-fashioned road-trip game of counting cows, you would hit 100 in just one small town like this one.

On a recent trip through rural Washington and Oregon, we say multiple Trump signs and zero Hillary signs. We saw Trump signs along the roadside, nailed to fences, strung on posts in the field and painted on barns.

A national event organized by folks hoping to get a reality TV show out of it. An American Marksman, not including the real experts. You know, the ones who practice and compete.
Glad you had fun, Walt. Where did you do the local “qualifying round”?
What I need to do is get out the old High Standards, a brick of .22LR and .22Short. Make holes in paper. Repeat.

That’s the whole point behind this particular shooting match. Regular “backyard” shooters.
Or at least they are supposed to be. There are plenty of shooting matches for the “pros”.
Our own, The Range , has their own matches and shooting teams.
Not to toot my own horn,(maybe just a little) but my .22 rifle time was ticking “pro” times. Just stupid mistakes kept my overall time climbing. (like forgetting to turn on the damned laser.) “Times running bub,, you might want to turn that thing on..”
So Gregory,, when you want to scratch that trigger finger itch? I have plenty of paper plates, and a close to proper range on my back door step… Right next to the BBQ.
Smoke ribs and targets at the same time.
