Hillary_StayHome

The Republicans are rightly worried.

Hillary rolls Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.  Hillary Clinton gave an impeccable interview yesterday in which she remained presidentially poised, in control, non-defensive, and as devious as she has ever been.  Interpreting and revising everything from congressional testimonies, FBI investigations, news videos, published emails, … . The woman showed everyone how all of these damning issues appear absolutely benign from the parallel universe in which she dwells.  The interview was simply an exoneration of Hillary provided by Fox and the inept Wallace who let every outrageous response stand and simply moved on to the next question to repeat the farce.  Understandably Hillary was visibly pleased with the interview and her performance in it.  She will be back.

The chameleon face of Hillary reveals itself in more secure environments absent the press.  There she is notorious for being a world-class shrew with her pecked-order peers, staff, and security using language that would make a sailor blush.  Numerous authors and former staffers have all told the same stories of a banshee whose temper is permanently frayed and screams epithets like, “Fuck off! It’s enough I have to see you shit-kickers every day!  I’m not going to talk to you, too! Just do your Goddamn job and keep your mouth shut.”  Yes indeed, Madame President.

Everyone remember when Romney told the naïf Obama that the embarrassingly ‘reset’ Russia is our main enemy?  He still doesn’t have a clue.

And does everyone know the pro-jihadist past and views of our new Democrat VP Kaine who now will be “Stronger Together” with Hillary?  I didn’t until a correspondent sent me this revelation from The American Thinker.  More true colors of what the Obama 3.0 administration will deliver for America.

Appeal to readers – can anyone point me to the site that publishes the updated polling data from CNN, Fox, and WSJ?  These polls are acknowledged as being technically the most reliable.  I’m interested in data that includes the poll’s sample size and description, polling date/interval, questionnaire, and, of course, the results and their confidence interval.

Ever wonder why the networks air interviews with pundits whose ‘expert views’ on possible future alternatives on an issue are 50-50 – ‘but on the other hand …’.  When one assigns equal likelihood to the possible outcomes, he is just pumping hot air to extend his complexified version of the more succinct simple answer of ‘I don’t know.’  That being the case, why have such talking heads consume valuable broadcast time?  If nothing else, they could instead have a pleasant musical interlude to more profitably fill the interval.

[2aug16 update]  I think Sen McCain erred in his criticism of Donald Trump’s unfortunate and clearly futile dust-up with the Gold Star Khan family. Here is the senator’s complete statement which concludes with “Lastly, I’d like to say to Mr. and Mrs. Khan: thank you for immigrating to America. We’re a better country because of you.”  Now that ain’t necessarily so, in spite of the ultimate sacrifice of their Army captain son who lost his life to an IED.

First this discussion cannot continue without recognizing that the parents’ contribution to America are a separate matter from that of their son’s.  We all honor the son’s sacrifice and express empathy to his parents for their loss for which we publicly acknowledge their Gold Star status.  But that hard won recognition by Mr and Mrs Khan does not put paid to our having to hold an equal appreciation of their other work in the US.

Sen McCain apparently was unaware of the purpose and substance of Mr Khan’s other lawyerly activities which promise to bear a bitter fruit for America.  To begin, Mr Khan is a published proponent of Sharia law and strongly advocates that all Muslims everywhere should construe their lives in harmony with and abide by that set of draconian laws as originally issued during the Prophet’s lifetime.  (more here)  This advocacy comes with a lot of baggage, especially for American Muslims.  From my own Islamic studies I hold with those who see no compatibility between the founding tenets of America and what we, perhaps erroneously, identify as fundamental Islam – here we recall President Erdogan’s recent words.  In short, when such a devout Muslim takes the oath of American citizenship, he can do it only within the context of taqiyya.  (“Taqiyya is an Islamic juridical term whose shifting meaning relates to when a Muslim is allowed, under Sharia law, to lie.”)

Mr Khan’s other questionable pursuits include a law practice that aids the immigration of fundamentalist Muslims to the US, and a visible but TBD advocacy of the Muslim Brotherhood movement (here and here).  These pursuits are questionable to the extent that they support populating the US with individuals whose fundamental belief systems are incompatible with (declared enemies of?) western and specifically American culture.

[3aug16 update]  I had lunch with one of my pals today with whom I always get deep into politics.  He asked an interesting question – what would the Republicans do if they were able to oust Trump or Trump just up and quit his candidacy?  My reply involves using the military ‘buddy rating system’ with the remaining 16 now-retired candidates.  To wit –

  1. Invite the former candidates to assemble in a room, and explain the matter to them. The candidate that they in their wisdom select will receive the full backing of the RNC and national Republican Party to defeat Hillary.
  2. Former candidates willing to step forward as the new candidate AND pledge to support the winner will remain in the room and be given five votes each. They may cast no more than one vote for any of their remaining colleagues.  They are then left in the room to deliberate and vote.
  3. After the votes are counted, the clear winner is announced, celebrated, and made known to the nation. The campaign is relaunched.  (Note that at this point Hillary must replenish all of her attack ads focused on the new candidate while all the anti-Hillary ads are still good to go.)
  4. If the Step 3 vote yields an N-way tie, then a new vote is taken with everyone casting their five votes, but now only for the N survivors. The one vote per candidate rule is removed, allowing the votes to be cast in any manner among the N.
  5. After the votes are cast we return to Step 3.

While Democrats beat their breasts over Trump’s attack on the Khans as somehow an attack on member of the military who died honorably fighting for the country, James Taranto reminds us of a prominent Democrat who publicly criticized honorable American servicemen and has never apologized.
But do you remember John Kerry?
He launched his public career in 1971 by testifying to a series of outrageous slanders against American servicemen. Subsequently he was elected lieutenant governor of, and U.S. senator from, Massachusetts. He was the Democratic nominee for president in 2004, when he presented himself as a war hero.
Kerry has never apologized for his calumnies against his fellow Vietnam veterans, which the liberal media played down as he was pursuing the Democratic nomination. When a group of vets eventually called him out on it, Democrats and journalists smeared them.
In 2013 Kerry left the Senate after the president nominated him as secretary of state. If by Obama’s standards Trump is unfit to serve because of his obnoxious comments, how is Kerry fit?

    Double standards!

Gee, I don’t know Russ. For starters, Kerry has 3 Purple Hearts and a Silver Star, while Trump has 5 deferments that kept him out of the war.
There WERE atrocities committed in Vietnam, or maybe you forgot about Rusty Calley and My Lai. For those of you who don’t remember, Calley and most of the 105 men under his command slaughtered 22 Vietnamese civilians. Apparently nobody up the chain of command knew a damn thing about any of this until a soldier started writing letters to everybody he could think of. Calley was convicted of murdering 22 civilians, but was eventually pardoned by Richard Nixon.
What does Trump bring to the table? Aside from slandering the parents of a fallen hero, he has questioned the bravery of John McCain, criticized the former commander of our troops in Afghanistan, promised that military leaders will do what he tells them–even if it means committing crimes–and whined about the “sacrifices” he has made.
Trump isn’t fit to command America’s armed forces.

Obama has no experience but he uses drone to kill people. Sort of like a video game eh? Liberals like Sanders and Clinton spent their holidays in the USSR and yet Americans voted in the millions for them. BillC was actually elected twice thanks to Ross Perot and he was all about hating the military. Remember, “I loathe the military” as he wrote to his draft board. So complain all you want about Trump but he is a qualified as any peacenik hippe you support.

Looking at other down ticket races for a moment……
“These conservative cross-state networks have blocked the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, challenged efforts by the Obama administration to deal with climate change, derailed proposals to increase the minimum wage and enact paid sick leave, and weakened union and voting rights.”

Russ 3:41 — Slanders or TRUTH –Who gives a crap about John Kerry who has ably served his country regardless of what kind of crap the right wing noise machine threw up in the wind to discredit/defame, via innuendo and no facts, his campaign for president. He has nothing to do with the with the FACT that donald trump does not possess the mental capacity to effectively command his own mouth not to mention a nation. The dyed in the wool righties are ideologically blinded (vote GOP even if they run a trout) if they can’t see trump for who/what he is; a huckster who has no clue what he is doing. What started out as a joke, trump’s candidacy, could easily became this country’s worst nightmare. The man is psychologically defective and shouldn’t be in charge of his own bowel movements, not to mention the largest military on the planet. Of course, top generals have already stated they would disobey if necessary should trump get elected. Is this what you really want for this country?
More trump testimonials: Harvard GOP Club: Trump is “a threat to the survival of the Republic.”
or what about trump bragging about the Iran tape he never saw or his former nude centerfold wife’s questionable immigration. Liar liar pants on fire!!, doesn’t someone around here like to say that about Hillary?

Now I recall the Swiftboaters produced the info showing Kerry and his medals were a fraud. And he tossed them over the White House fence, thereby giving up his right to claim them. And as we all know, Teddy Kennedy used Kerry as a proper to demean and disgrace his fellow soldiers in his Senate testimony. Kerry is and was always a fraud. One scary fraud. I recall he wanted his yacht registered in another state, not his home state, to avoid taxes. What a guy.

Robert Cross, I agree Trump is an unknown, but Hillary is known and the country cannot take 4 more years of Progressive leadership under the watchful eye of the Clinton Crime Family. I am reluctantly voting for the unknown, rather then the known. I have no idea what Trump is going to do. However, he is known for hiring smart people and expecting great results. I am assuming he will do the same in government. Since Trump is not bought and paid for, he will be free to pursue the government criminals and their enablers. In the four years of his term,he will appoint four Supreme Court Justices, this alone is reason enough to vote for the unknown. We know the kind of Justices that Hillary will appoint and we can kiss the 2nd Amendment good by and perhaps the 1st as well. Given the known and the unknown, I am voting unknown.

According to people who were on the Swift Boats, one of Kerry’s Purple Hearts was for a splinter he got off the railing of his boat. The splinter was created by an enemy bullet, therefore his finger splinter was considered the result of enemy action. Heh! I got hemorrhoids flying 24-hour cold war nuclear missions, under Kerry’s logic, I should have gotten a purple heart for them.

“Aside from slandering the parents of a fallen hero” – Boardman
Could you produce an actual quote of that, George? I personally heard no false and defamatory words regarding the Khans from Trump and would like to be enlightened.
Khan has been found to have financial considerations regarding Muslim immigration (or at least the immigration of wealthy Muslims), and used to work at the law firm that handled Hillary’s taxes… not exactly the model disinterested party. It was a political hit, and Khan has spent what moral authority he may have started with by dragging his son’s name through a political mudpit… at least Cindy Sheehan was confronting those who actually drove the war that killed her son which is not the case for the Khans.
The post-DNC bounce may be over… if the USC/LA Times poll is to be believed. An essentially tied race.

Boardman is a fine example of the press taking things out of context said by many on the right. Then they think they hear a dog whistle and they publish the dog whistle. I did not hear any defamation either. They do this all the time and it seems to work. makes the person gunshy and forces PC on them.
