Totally ignored in this discussion of our nation becoming more violent is the moral equation. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Why? Because some humans tend to think they can do whatever they want…even though it’s illegal, because they’re so smart. Belief in a higher power that sees, and knows everything and rewards, or punishes accordingly tends to motivate higher personal motives. Spiritually motivated self disciplined individuals and nations rise to great achievements. Without it they self destruct. Our prisons are overflowing…and the ethics of those running our government, who swear an oath to uphold our Constitution indicate we’re sliding downhill.

Jimmie Carter was our last God fearing president, therefore Ronald Reagan must have initiated our slide into violence. Bonnie, I don’t fear God. I don’t even believe there is a god but have never been inclined to shoot anyone or even stab them with a screwdriver. If it is only the fear of God that keeps you in line, then your belief is a very good thing. Not all of us need your fear to be good people.

Then after all the smoke has cleared and things start quieting down, the Army shows up with a bunch of jeeps and trucks and Generals and picnic tables and claim all the credit. How come???
At least the Navy boys got us close and the fly boys provided cover. Where were you supply boys? Back on the range shooting at bulls eyes? Aha! Let we know when your boys are done passing out chewing gum wrappers and pinning them on each other. Us jar heads got work to do.

First of all, I plan to be back in town next week, so you go out and find one jonnie. Might be a problem since you’ve chosen to live in one of the whitest counties in California. Then, if said American with an African background needs to be calmed down, I’ll be happy to point out statistics that show that this individual really should be far more afraid of running into a member of his own ‘community’. As to your latest spittle blowing about 2 murdered innocent blacks, you might want to provide some sort of detail, such as a name or such. I realize that asking for details and facts amounts, these days, to a micro-aggression, but it’s kinda important to adults to be able to have an intelligent discussion.
So – balls in your court, jonnie boy. Let’s plan this through George’s blog. We can have the event at a neutral arena. Taste Of Thai is one of my fave’s. Or the Old Republic or – hell, Kilroy’s.
You bring your badly addled left-wing qualified person-of-color. No fair bringing some one who ‘identifies’ with a ‘certain’ community. They gotta be gen-u-wine.

Placer County Deputies Association is urging a boycott of Reinette Senum’s restaurant following her inflammatory internet screed regarding the Dallas massacre, “This was completely incited by America’s police force. They have obviously been given directives to go out there and kill. It’s insane and it’s meant to create mayhem.”
It is very unfortunate that our few day’s old City Council Woman has started off on this foot with local law enforcement agencies. I can only wonder what it must be like for the Nevada City sheriffs who actually have to work under her.

Senum is a Nevada City Council member and has nothing to do with the Sheriffs. She does however have the Nevada City PD to screw with. From what I am hearing the Placer Deputies are not the only ones taking action. After that incomprehensible, bat shit crazy, anti-LE declaration she should resign now before it gets worse for Nevada City much less the restaurant.

Everyone pontificates about this and in my view most are BSing reality. Police can be human and can overreact. No doubt about it. They can also discharge their weapons and become the hangman. Most police, 99% in my opinion do a fine job and treat people equally. When they are caught doing bad things they are prosecuted just as a regular citizen. But until you police the inner cities, I say to all you white guilt people, shut up. You have no clue. I abhor the Minnesota and Louisiana killings but to taint the entire countries police is ridiculous. I suggest anyone who doubts the pressure of pulling over someone or knocking on their door do it themselves and feel the sweat pour down your neck. These men and women do it every day. 20,000 have died over the last century from being killed by the bad guys. So go ahead and make your broad generalizations about the cops but for the most part they do their best under tough circumstances. They are the best trained on the planet. Get rid of the few bad ones. Pray they come to help you when you are being attacked. And of course never make a broad generalization about the black Americans.Facts matter but not for some BLM apologists.

Your first few sentences sounded reasonable Todd. Then that BS of a gem you wrote above- which is absolutely NOT true. No one is tainting the whole country (police forces). But until you right wingers get real about the decades-old pattern of those bad 1% of police vs. innocent black civilians, we won’t get anywhere in solving the problems we now face. Of course get rid of the few bad ones…slight problem though- WE DON’T. DA’s do not generally prosecute bad cops. That’s a fact.

The DA in Baton Rouge has said the shooting may be legal, even though the cameras were knocked off, the body cams were operating during the fight and they have the full audio of the incident. So we have a felon with a gun who was reportedly brandishing said gun in the 911 call that brought the police there. Then he fights and the store owner who shot the video standing mere feet away saw a gun. Is this another Ferguson were the facts don’t match the BLM propaganda? Hands up don’t shoot indeed.

Yes it is – we agree! When the white CHP officer raped and murdered a white woman, the local DA deliberately presented a case so messed up, the jurrors came out crying and apologizing to the parents of the young lady. They wanted to convict, but the DA wouldn’t give them the chance. Later, there was a fed trial and the bastard was convicted in 5 minutes. He should have been strung up by his neck and danced for the crowd but he got off with a much more lenient sentence and is probably out of prison by now.
Just north of where I live, a white rancher was called out to put down his bull that had been injured on the road and the local sheriff gunned him down. It’s been over a year and the DA and the feds and the state just can’t even come up with an autopsy.
At Ruby Ridge, an FBI sharpshooter shot to death an unarmed white woman holding her child. The agent in charge lied about the event (proven) and was punished by being promoted to a higher paying job.
I can go on and on. But the blacks just keep killing each other and the left goads them into insane violence against absolutely innocent cops.
Funny how the white folks never started just openly gunning down cops because ‘White Lives Matter’.
Get your ears and eyes opened folks. It’s not black against white. That’s a BS argument the left loves to stir up while never providing any facts about the events they bring up.

no, actually the black vs. white thing is not. But am glad we agree on the bigger statistic. No doubt white on white happens as well, but nothing like white on black. Everyone knows that in Minnesota the other night, if that man was a clean shaven white guy wearing a polo shirt he wouldn’t have had his arm blown off his body, with a 4 year old child in the backseat watching the massacre. The Governor there knows it, and he’s never been a friend of the BLM movement, quite the opposite.

The audio and the store owner are telling the story the ‘jon’ and yes it might be a legal shooting. ‘Poor man’ who was a felon with a gun who had threatened someone with it and fought the cops. Lets not forget Holders grandstanding in the hands up don’t shoot that never happened. Remember the video of that poor little kid (6-3 300lbs) in Ferguson attacking the store owner minutes before the police encounter? They quietly ended up acknowledging it was a clean shooting. Attack a cop and you are betting your life you are going to win.

Just visited Jeff Pelline’s blog. Yes, I do like that same picture of the alpine lake and lupines. No, I did not try to login in. Just checking if the man with his ear to the ground covering all things Nevada City, CA had anything to say or insight about what the former mayor of Nevada City, CA and current city councilwoman of Nevada City, CA posted on her FB page from Nevada City, CA. She did paint police officers with a very very broad brush calling the culprits America’s Policeforce. Hmm. Yep, 5 cops dead (one was a transit officer), six wounded (one of which was a civilian). It’s their just desserts! That is where you place the blame, where you find the responsible party….the guilty ones. Ok, fair enough, the chicken have come home to roost and blah, blah, blah.
Not a word about her FB post on the Pelline blog. No mention. No “atta” girl, no “bad girl”, no she was tired or her blood sugar was low or she was right arm right on. Just crickets. Odd. Did Jeff get scooped by the NC Scooper? Nah, nobody reads the NC Scooper, right?
There was also further down a brief article about the new city councilpeoples with two nice photographs of the happy swearing in event. In both pictures, the person in question was clearly holding a binder covering her crouch. Two out of two photos. Wonder if she was leaking. After reading her post on NC Scooper, perhaps the councilwoman should take the blue binder and cover her face. Nobody looks at her crouch anyway….its been many moons since someone was even curious about that area, which, sad to sad, may be her best part. Cover your face, please. What will the millennials think? We mustn’t scare them away. I never make it to Nevada City so she won’t be missing my wad of greenies one bit. How’s that cashless Nevada City, CA barter system working out? I hope that isn’t the infamous worm farm lady, but that is none of my business..
