[Dear People, here is a fresh sandbox for our 4th of July weekend. I would like to seed it with the arguments from this WSJ editorial, 'Loretta Lynch's Clinton Mess'. Hopefully all will be careful with their BBQs and adult beverages during this festive time. While we can no longer shoot off our guns and firecrackers, we can still think good thoughts about the old Republic and quaff a few much needed toasts to its health. gjr]

More California gun laws today. No matter what the SCOTUS or the Constitution says in plain English the liberals will never give up trying to get them. I will hopefully be gone when the head choppers come for them and they look around for some dumbass conservative cracker with a AR-15 to protect them.

I am inclined to agree with the WSJ. However, the question has been raised, was he there to plead for Hillary or for himself as the FBI investigates the Clinton Foundation? I would like to hear what other RR observers think was the thrust and tone of the conversation between Clinton and Lynch. This was not a social visit, it was a business visit meant to be private.
• Did Bill plead for Hillary, asking for a delay of any legal action until after the election?
• Did Bill explain how the rough and dirty game was going be played if Hillary was indicted by Lynch?
• Did Bill plead his own case in the Clinton Foundation fraud under FBI investigation?
• Did Bill offer up himself to take the server rap, counting on a pardon when Hillary was elected? {Speculative}
There have to be other scenarios that make more sense. Let’s hear from the regulars on the right and the crickets on the left!

No pleading. Obama sent his messenger. Hillary sent her affectionly named “Secret Weapon”. Took a half hour, but it t got everybody on the same page, made doubly sure, and each was handed their prepared scripts. Hmm, somebody must have pulled the “plan out” of their back pocket and compared notes. The is only one Boss and he wasn’t at the meeting.

Another take: it went down just as reported. No big conspiracy. Things do happen in life that can be taken at face value.
Bubba’s history has shown that no mater how skilled and talented he is (one of the best natural born politicians in our lifetimes), William Jefferson Clinton at times tosses all caution aside and becomes reckless beyond imagination. “What the hell was he thinking” was the refrain during the Monica thang. He risked it all! What was he thinking??.
Turn the page. Bill hops out of his limo or caravan, walks over to Loretta’s Air Force One, skips right up the stairs, and walks inside without even knocking.
Now everybody is scratching their heads and saying “What was SHE thinking?????” Now Lynch is being blamed for Bubba being Bubba. It’s all her fault. What was she thinking? See, nothing sticks to the Clintons. It’s all “her” fault. Yep, Bubba is one of the best ever. Poor Loretta just got thrown under the bus for being the victim here.
BTW, has anybody seen Bill lately? It’s like Scottie beamed him up. Odd.
But, there is only one question that remains in this scenario.: Your had the EX-POTUS private plane on the tarmack, 75 feet away you had the AG Executive plane, and right there you also had another Executive’s plane (another Airforce One). Boy, that tarmack was crawling with Secret Service and FBI agents with all the details. FBI agents guard cabinet members. It must have been busier than the Paris Climate Change party. Now, who was in the other Air Force One? Probably not related. Phoenix is the place to be, duh. I thought everybody knew that.

Around here, they are some nice millennials back from Afghanistan and vacinity that get a kick out of setting off a big one on Independence Day. Don’t know from where exactly. Perhaps a mile or more away. The shock wave alone makes you hair stand to attention. Rocks the whole area.

Steven Hayward at Powerline has some thoughts in WHAT WENT DOWN ON THE TARMAC?
Clinton may have thought the meeting could have been kept secret (it was apparently exposed by a local TV crew that just happened to be at the airport, but this sounds incomplete to me), but he’s too smart not to have known that news would likely leak out somehow. You have to surmise that it was sufficiently important for Clinton to get a few minutes with Lynch to take the risk. What could have been that important?
There are more theories than the number of Bill’s girlfriends. Maybe he was offering her the blandishment of a Supreme Court appointment in a Hillary Administration, or a nice well paying position with the Clinton Foundation. I’ve thought for a while that the FBI might recommend indicting several of Hillary’s underlings, who can be easily pardoned after the election, while making Hillary a Nixonian “un-indicted co-conspirator.” Perhaps Lynch wanted to tell this or something else directly to the Clintons, but couldn’t risk a logged phone call or even personal email. Maybe Bill was offering a deal whereby Hillary drops out for “health reasons”(which may well be genuine) if she quashes an indictment. I hear Joe Biden is out on the “campaign trail” today, whatever that means.
Another possible theory is that Bill wanted Lynch to be compromised such that she had to announce today that she’ll follow the FBI recommendation, as an indirect way of putting more pressure on FBI director Comey. Comey is reputed to be a straight shooter, but surely even he can’t be immune to the political ramifications of recommending an indictment of the First Woman Nominee. Now it’s all on him; he can’t pass the buck on to Lynch and the Justice Department.

Improving California Transportation Infrastructure under Agenda 21.
Crumbling Roads? Let’s Build Bike Lanes! And more bullet trains to nowhere, while we’re at it.
In his State of the State address earlier this year, Gov. Jerry Brown pointed to California’s deferred infrastructure maintenance as “staggering” and put the price tag for repairs at $77 billion. One would be hard-pressed to find any policymaker from either party who doesn’t see the state’s crumbling and inadequate infrastructure as a crisis, although there’s the usual difference of opinion on how best to pay for the needed upgrades.
But rest assured, the California State Transportation Agency, which oversees the state’s eight transportation-related bureaucracies, released in late June the “California Transportation Plan 2040.” It’s a blueprint for the state’s infrastructure future. The only problem: it’s more about building bicycle lanes and rail connections, and dramatically changing land-use patterns to combat climate change, than it is about improving the system of roads, freeways, and bridges that most of us actually rely on to get places.
Consider it a social-engineering, rather than transportation-engineering, document. The introductory letter barely even mentions highway and bridge construction. “With approved Sustainable Communities Strategies, our regional partners are already leading the way toward transportation and land use patterns that will provide cost-effective transportation solutions and also improve livability in our communities,” wrote state Transportation Secretary Brian Kelly.

Now you know what all those guys and gals standing around at CalTrans work sites are costing us taxpayers.

Fish, @ 7:31. Good news, gave me the warm fuzzies.
When living in a bubble, everybody you know thinks exactly like you or me. 2,000 Facebook friends can’t be wrong!.
Exxon counter sued? The island AG propbably discovered that Exxon had big, better, and more lawyers (and cash) than 16 states put together. Who knows if the Virgin Islands can afford to lose a 250 billion or so settlement? It’s only the taxpayers money. Maybe some oil companies implied that the delivers to the island terroritory would be interrupted due to mechanical difficulties and necessary repairs. ETA of resumed deliveries: 2043. Or maybe the bubble was smaller than first believed.
Scientific research reveals the herd mentality does indeed increase one’s chances of going mad. To add insult to injury, the herd the looked around and saw they’d happened to be a cage surrounded by zoo visitors tossing peanuts and snapping pictures and making comments and funny faces.
Drats, foiled again. Another reason to get rid of the Constitution and get with the times.

Didn’t President Obama during his first term highly tout algae as the next great biofuel coming down the pike to save our planet and make us independent of Arab oil? That plus all those stories about Brazil fueling everything from sugarcane. It took awhile until Obama got a clue that the USA was not known for its sugarcane production, albeit there are some green sprouts here and there in his home state of Hawaii.
Anyway, I clearly recall his visit to the algae labs and production facilities like it was yesterday and even Moi got excited. Talk about renewable energy. Talk about the potential. And no putting food in the gas tank.
Well, Lordy, Lordy, look what have we here. Florida trying to get rid of their algae and the US Virgin Islands looking for a reliable source of renewables that won’t harm the planet. Heck, the US Virgin Islands ain’t even that far from Florida. Solution found. Ship it over there, Floridians.. A win-win thang. Talk about going green!!!!

Only one thing is clear about Bubba crashing Lynch’s private party. The Clintons are scared shitless. Scared shitless. Spin it every which way but loose, but Bubba and his lovely bride are desperate. Between the WH and Team Clinton, 2,000 legal advisors can’t be wrong. Opps. Make that “political consultants”.
It’s all about the Clinton Foundation. It’s ALL about Public Corruption charges arising from the charity.
Everybody now is focusing on “those damn e-mails” which can be laid at the feet of incompetence.
State blocking release of e-mails between The Foundation and government employees…read Foggy Bottom just 48 hours after Phoenix. Perhaps that was the bone Bubba wanted Loretta to toss his way. Bill Clinton would have to be the first person testifying before the grand jury concerning the Chelsea, Bill, and Hillary Clinton Foundation (2,000 employees), formerly knownn ax psBill and Hillary Foundation during the time period in question..
Great time for lawyers. Everybody has to lawyer up. From Huma to Loretta to Obama (he knew about the private server cause they chatted via e-mail on her privately owned basement server)…. Everybody is lawyering up for good reason. Hope Hillary does not leave Washington broke again. That really tugs on the ole heartstrings.
Expect e-mail decision months before any Foundation indictment decision.
Holy crap. This might put a crimp on Hillary’s fundraising. Without the millions flowing in (raised 69 million in June per one report, most say 40 plus)….well without the big bucks flowing freely, Hillary is toast. Heck, she is spending half a million clams a day on advertising in battleground states (Trump spending zero) and My Gal is still stuck in neutral, still stuck on stupid, and apparently by the Phoenix thang, still stuck with stupid.
Follow the money. Hint of charges of Public Corruption is something even Dozer can wrap his mind around.
Scared shitless people often freeze, thus the crickets.
Meanwhile behind the scenes, the Libertarian Party continues to grow, now in double digits. Another no brainer, drawing equally from both sides. Hillary cannot afford to lose any Democrats. The silver lining is she can afford the legal fees.
Expect more coughing fits and another concussion or two.

1). Wrong. There is hard evidence that e-mails marked C where received by and forwarded from My Gal.com. Sure, the markings were not in bold print across the top, nor did they have that Mission Impossible red rubber stamp that read “Top Secret”, nor did the tape recorder self destruct .
The C is in box on the right margin about 1 1/2 paragraphs down when all the computer talk and markings and stuff you skip over to get to where the meat is. The C is in the box marked something, just like looking at your W-2s. Oh, c means classified, not confidential.

WikiLeaks on Monday published more than 1,000 emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server during her time as secretary of State about the Iraq War. Here: https://wikileaks.org/clinton-emails/?
The website tweeted a link to 1,258 emails that Clinton, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee sent and received. They stem from a trove of emails released by State Department in February.
WikiLeaks combed through the emails to find all the messages that reference the Iraq War.
“Given that Wikileaks is widely regarded as a front for Russian intelligence, I wonder how they got them? . . . .” It would be interesting to compare what Wikileaks released to the ones that the State Department released. If they are different , they most likely come from a different source.

Well, looks like the pundits were right. She was cleared and probably the other criminal investigation into the Public Corruption charges involving Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary will end up in the circular file. Trump now has to destroy My Gal straight up, as well as Ovama and Biden as the President and Vice President joining here on the trail.
The silver lining, from the FBI statement. Yes, she did send and receive classified info from her little private AOL or G-Mail account or Yahoo Hot Mail.com , lol. So, Hillary can NO longer spout that lie.
“For example, seven e-mail chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received. These chains involved Secretary Clinton both sending e-mails about those matters and receiving e-mails from others about the same matters. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive information, we also found information that was properly classified as Secret by the U.S. Intelligence Community at the time it was discussed on e-mail (that is, excluding the later “up-classified” e-mails).”
Ok, time to make lemonade. At least the FBI used the term “Extremely Careless” when handling our nation’s secrets. Extremely Careless..that is political fodder for the campaign.

What is even more shocking is that according to Comey, “we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts.”
Well, we did. Here is the FBI itself, less than a year ago, charging one Bryan H. Nishimura, 50, of Folsom, who pleaded guilty to “unauthorized removal and retention of classified materials” without malicious intent, in other words precisely what the FBI alleges Hillary did (h/t @DavidSirota):

U.S. Magistrate Judge Kendall J. Newman immediately sentenced Nishimura to two years of probation, a $7,500 fine, and forfeiture of personal media containing classified materials. Nishimura was further ordered to surrender any currently held security clearance and to never again seek such a clearance.
According to court documents, Nishimura was a Naval reservist deployed in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008. In his role as a Regional Engineer for the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Nishimura had access to classified briefings and digital records that could only be retained and viewed on authorized government computers. Nishimura, however, caused the materials to be downloaded and stored on his personal, unclassified electronic devices and storage media. He carried such classified materials on his unauthorized media when he traveled off-base in Afghanistan and, ultimately, carried those materials back to the United States at the end of his deployment. In the United States, Nishimura continued to maintain the information on unclassified systems in unauthorized locations, and copied the materials onto at least one additional unauthorized and unclassified system.
Nishimura’s actions came to light in early 2012, when he admitted to Naval personnel that he had handled classified materials inappropriately. Nishimura later admitted that, following his statement to Naval personnel, he destroyed a large quantity of classified materials he had maintained in his home. Despite that, when the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched Nishimura’s home in May 2012, agents recovered numerous classified materials in digital and hard copy forms. The investigation did not reveal evidence that Nishimura intended to distribute classified information to unauthorized personnel.
This case was the product of an investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Jean M. Hobler prosecuted the case

I would imagine the “I didn’t mean to do it” defense will become more popular in the near future given its powerful effect on career law enforcement officials.

Well, at least Cosby did some great stand up routines and was downright funny before he starting thinking with his Alabama black snake. Roger was never known for his comedy. Roger could buy whores all day long. No need for him to go cheapo and slip them a micky. Cosby learned you get what you pay for….and boy o boy is he paying now. Tightwad.
