re Fish at 3:09 – That stat caught my eye. Anyone who actually checked the data chart would notice a slightly different angle. These are ‘official’ numbers that don’t take into account the flood of illegals whose income is probably quite a bit shy of the vaunted $50K annual income level.
The main thing to notice are the number of people, not their income. About a quarter of a million out (net) and not even a tenth of that in.
I’m sure a fair number of retired from the work force with SS-only types are certainly going to flee.
Our once-great golden state still leads the way in those on welfare and it’s getting worse. Nevada County is a wonderful place to be if you have to live in Cali.
Far, far away from the pesky realities of what is actually going on for the vast majority of Californians.
Hey – all of you lefties – let me know when the choo choo train is ready. Ho ho ho.

They only have issued a mere ONE permit for a peaceful march within the Keep The Berners Out No Speech Zone. Something about free speech. Poor Brother Ben. And the Berners. All dressed up and no where to go, Despite the court order, no new permits will be issued this month. Judge told them to work it out….city told them to come back next month.
Delay, delay, delay. Stonewall, deny, delay…it will go away. Hmm, sounds kinda familiar.
I just love how Democrats think that tolerance and freedom cannot co-exist. They demand one and prohibit the other.

Barry, off topic, but the park is looking great! Nice. I never stop by there anymore, but finally did. Nice disc golf course. I used to toss the freebie around in the very first freebie golf course (the name back then) in the USA while working over at JPL. We use to call JPL “white collar welfare” back when Reagon righted the ship back in the day. Not only the course, but the entire park. That walkway/bike bath is nice as well. Dog park looks great with it parked out. Good job. Excellent job.
Oh, when I was there, the millennials were very excited. They thought they found some Bigfoot imprints in the soil. I checked it out before they wasted money on plaster of paris. Yep, big deep imprints of a beast. Upon further investigation, I knew it was not a Bigfoot who left its marks. The length was too short and you could tell the arches of the creature’s feet where broken. Nah, not Bigfoot. Had the enough weight, but it was human. Bigfoots have strong foot aches. I told the kids it probably was that blogger who took his offspring to toss the disc around, only to have the whole experience ruint by the sight of Tea Party types who reserved and rented the pavilion.
Oh, I digressed.

Some broadband politics:
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton plans to bring high-speed broadband cable internet to every American household by 2020, according to a leaked campaign document.
Clinton’s “technology and innovation” agenda also involves re-examining encryption and strongly supporting the Federal Communication Commission’s recent decision on net neutrality, according to a leaked 14-page memo obtained by Politico on Monday . The agenda reportedly wades into important issues within Silicon Valley, such as surveillance, patent reform and treatment of Uber drivers.
She does not have any idea about the challenges of bringing fiber to homes in the the Sierra Nevada, Cascades and Rockies. Failing this undestanding her claims are just political promisses that cannot be filled.

“All of us are “illegals”, we stole the country. And america is not the “greatest country on earth with the most freedom of the individual”. Far from it. Several of the Scandinavian countries and a few in the EU have far greater standards of living and freedoms if you define freedom as the ability to live with security, dignity, good health, available jobs and happiness. That is just the “bogus” fairy tale we have all been fed since birth. But, If you think an actual chart based on real data can be “de-bunked” by others than there really is no point for further discussion.”

Why would I be angry when I’m happy with the political, social and cultural direction of this nation? I actually do share several of your economic concerns for obvious reasons. What I don’t share is the black/white, Good vs. Evil, Bad Liberal/Good Conservative thing. I would say that’s the main theme. Simply trying to show you boys the world is bit more nuanced than you or your parents may have imagined (understatement of the year perhaps?).:)

OK, an important topic worthy of comment from conservatives. I asked about this kind of paradox last weekend but only got angry shouts in response. How to square mainstream conservatism that has emerged in the last 40 years with Donald Trump’s very, very isolationist and dangerous economic ideas.. ie, Paul Ryan vs. Donald Trump, 180 degrees opposed on some of most basic of conservative principles- trade, immigration, govt. infrastructure spending, etc. Dr. Rebane, I would particularly love to see your comments on this topic.

Yep, as Secretary of State, Clinton napped while Quadffi’s men came to our rescue. You do know what those “moderates” we were supporting in Libya did, don’t you? They grabbed Quaddfi and literally butt fucked him to death. But, it was his men who came and pulled out the body of Christoper Stevens who was still breathing when he, too, got butt fucked to death. Of course before Hillary retired for the evening without the balls to make a decision on the spot and talking to all her advisors about what she should do, she picked up the tele and called Chelsea and had a nice chat and then went beddy bye. What, did she expect them to make it through the night after being surrounded, out gunned, out manned after already going through 8 hours of a firefight?? You obliviously never been in a real firefight with real bullets and a real enemy trying to kill you, or else you would be cognizant of the fact that 3 minutes of battle seems like 2 hours. But, the only thing you really, really, really care about is nothing stuck to her. Nothing.
We on this side of the aisle call that deriliction of duty. She handpicked Stevens, sent him on a dangerous mission to carry out her wishes, and walked away. She washed her hands of the whole matter. That is your candidate. Her name is Hillary Rodclam Clinton. And we find out yesterday, that she paid Bloomenthal 200k out of her own pocket (or the charity’s money) for his advice and his plan to go into Libya solely and Exclusively so she would look good. It was all about her. And yes, Bloomenthal would line his pockets with lucrative contracts. This is After your man, your President, Mr. Obama, himself personally intervened to bar Sydney Bloomenthal from having anything to do with the Obama Administration.
Rusty Zipper, I think the only thing you care about in the depths of your soul is having absolutely no facts or evidence, no nothing or anything stick to your candidate. That is why I love my country but fear my government. Yes, I am scared shitless of my government, and for good reason. Enough.
Nobody has ever taken down the Clintons. Nothing ever sticks to them. They are the most impregnable foe anyone could possibly face. Oh sure, the voters of Arkansas kicked Bubba out of office afterhis first term. Hillary was piping hot. Why? Because now “she would have to move into a tiny house”. Bill came back and never lost again. Hillary never lived in a tiny house again and the rest is history. Not one true conservative, not one true Republican in the entire nation can take Hillary and the Clinton apparatus down whose payroll spreads out to darn near every county and every precinct in the nation. No one from the Right has a snowball’s chance in hell of beating their dirt machine.
But, there is a bull in the China Shop, an untamed savage that can fight fire with fire. He is unpredictable and ain’t afraid of the Clintons. And boy is he pissed.
So tonight, I did something I have never done before. I wiped out the credit card and sent Trump the max under law. Plus, I bought a nice red hat. Figured he has our Nation’s back, I have his back. Imagine sending a billionaire some money! I wish I could send more. Why?
Why? Why? Why? Why did I do what I did for the first time in my life??
Because Trump would have never ever left Our Fellow Countrymen to die like that. He would have scrambled jets, ships, helicopters in 5 seconds instead of Never. That’s why. Something you are incapable of understanding because you never been in a foxhole and you never stacked Gooks with their throats slit to use as sandbags so your buddies can make it through the night with ammo running out. You never sacrificed nothing for nobody except yourself. That’s ok. We come from different places.
Besides, my country was looking for only a few good men. It’s still my country and its still your country. Men and women died to make it our country, but they did not die so women could have free menstrual clothes.. That is where Hillary and I part ways.
May the best team win. I do not ever ever ever expect you to play fair or by the rules. I expect you to continue to fight dirty. That’s all you and your side knows how to do. Like the Islamics, it’s ok to lie to the enemy. Mohammed said so. All is fair in love and war. We will see who is still standing at the end of the day.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who is right or who is wrong. The only thing that matters is who is still standing. Go ahead and have your fun. Rest up. You will need your strength later. Besides, you are scared shitless of Trump. I ain’t worried in the least about Hillary. Trump can go play golf right now while everybody is hand wringing and fretting and getting all contorted. I know he will bring it all in on time and under budget. Sweet dreams. Relax. You win. Take that shield and toss it aside. Go party, let your hair down, and dance the happy dance that Hillary dodged another bullet .and go do the happy dance on your Ambassador Steven’s grave for me. I have other plans.

LOL Neither Hillary or the Donald have actually been nominated (who knows, they might ditch Hill for Smiling Joe and what’s her name from the Stockholm branch of the Powhattan tribe, and the Donald might get chucked for some designated pinch hitter). But in any case, if you were so sure Hillary had it in the bag you wouldn’t be wasting everyone’s time with your rude bullying playground antics… you know, the standard Cartman routine Crabbman pinned on you.

FYI to everyone else, I’m sure Pelline won’t be seen dead in the place, but the $4 Cline 2013 Zinfandel at the Gross Me Outlet (sold in supers for $12) is nearly as good as the Smith 2013 Primitivo (California’s Zinfandel and Italy’s Primitivo are both clones of the original grape, Dalmatia’s Crljenak Kaštelanski) which I was drinking before they won their latest medals, and that really is a great hooch. I’m impressed Smiths had the forethought to graft Primitivo from UC Davis on their root stock years ago an investment that is now paying off. They’re doing it right.
So, Jeff, if you’re going to drink yourself into a state where you can’t tell break from brake, do it with a couple glasses of the Smith followed by a couple bottles of Cline… and I doubt you could tell the difference in a proper tasting anyway.

David Brooks only passes as a conservative among the progressive left, not among conservatives or among the radical moderates that call themselves libertarians. Brooks is the “conservative” liberals hire because they can stand him.
He has described himself as originally liberal until Milton Friedman demolished him in a debate, which led him to revise his original views. So Brooks can be trained, unlike some sock puppets we all know.

That you believed that David Brooks was a conservative makes me feel sad for you…..much like Krugman playing the role of “economist” for the Times remember that they are there to allow you to feel comfortable in your prejudices. Also, if you were to drop “immigrants” at the end this passage you would recognize that it has been in every democratic political argument for the last 50 years. Thought that a deep thinker like yourself would have caught it.
Greg was right, lay off the cheap stuff if you want to engage. I think that you’ll find much more productive.

This “Jon Dozer” has the clowns on the hard-right blog tied up in knots! At the same time I was attending an MIM concert this afternoon, they kept thinking “Jon” was me — even addressing me as much in the thread. ROFLOL! Go “Jon Dozer”!
WOW…..guess I was wrong. I guess you would get far too winded tapping away at your smart phone while listening to a concert. No Batman label far you.
Jeez jeffy…..I really asked only one thing of you (two if you include me wanting you to depart from the Bee….since they eventually recognized their mistake and dropped you, I refuse to claim any credit) that you not make me feel sorry for you.

LOL!! The “jon” can be any one of our local “loser” LIBS. The funny thing is,they are interchangeable. Just like the pieces on Mr.Potato Head.
OK “jon”, consider yourself the the redheaded stepchild of a rented mule here. (used, and beaten on a daily basis.) The best part is you keep coming back for more!
I will be back this afternoon to get take my turn with the “jonnie” be good stick.

The “jon” can be any one of our local “loser” LIBS.
That has been the working theory…..that “jon” is a puppet with many hands jammed up his flue.
Recently though he seems to have been emoting much like a certain former editor of your local newspaper…..the self pity, the unearned sense of self importance, the snobbery……typical jeffy.

I find it hard to believe that Jeff Pelline isn’t the author of a number of “Jon Dozer” comments, and a number smell just like Steven Frisch, the six figure CEO of the wretchedly misnamed Sierra Business Council. If I had to bet, I’d bet on only those two being the fisters of the Dozer sock.
Even if he was at a MIM concert, Jeffie could have posted via smartphone from the two seats he occupied.
