Nah Paul, that ain’t it. You can’t have two women on the ticket because that will take away from Hillary’s historic event. Like, having two women in the same kitchen is oft times a very bad great idea. Hillary will absolutely not share the limelight. No way, no how. There is only one person behind the curtain. It’s has always been about her and apparently it will always be that way. Besides, if Hillary is going to pick a female running mate, she has to be uglier than Hillary. No VP of hers is going to walk into a dull Hillary meeting and light up the room with charm, class and style…..not to mention elegance or gravitas.
Now, Forked Tongue Screeching Owl Lizzy’s mug alone would make freight train take a dirt road, but she is a beauty queen compared to My Gal. Nope, Warren is too pretty in comparison. The good news is at least we won’t have to worry about My Gal messing around with another man…or any man. Huma maybe, but not Anthony’s Weiner. Maybe DNC Debbie will get a job in the new administration as Minister of Information and be My Gal’s confident.

Paul,
For VP, an interesting pick may come from the critical swing state of Ohio- Sherrod Brown. Very popular, 100% progressive Senator.
Favorite may be Julian Castro right now. But I don’t know that Liz Warren is out of the running quite yet. Can’t bank on a Fox News piece..LikeLike

Since we are comparing apples to apples, how about Scandinavia’s health care safety net compared with their military budget? Our military spending is so absurdly lopsided compared with any other facet of social expenditures that we are a world unto ourselves. And even at the current rate the Repubs want to increase military spending and cut basic health and human services.

Julian Castro? He is Chicano, close enough. He’s not the guy who grew up in a LA Raza community activist’s casa, is he? La Raz, goodie, we can talk about The Race.
Julian is kinda like our friend Omar from Orlando. Raised in a partisan Tailban household. Apple don’t fall far from the tree. LA Raza, or am I confusing him with some other mayor?
Well, here’s a no brainer. Let’s make illegals Mexican again.

Looking further into the % of GDP chart for the US you’ll see that the % when Clinton left office was 13% and when Bush left it was 16% a 3% rise. Under Obama’s 8 years it has only gone up 1%.
Looks like the Pubbers don’t do too well in that department.

Well, jon smith, we are the policeman of the world, no doubt. Still in Germany (for a pretty good reason) since the EU is having such a hard time feeding and housing them refugees from Islamic countries. It’s breaking their budgets and NATO is just us giving them money. Still in Korea for a good reason. But, China had more neucular war leads on their subs in the South China Sea fleet than we do in our entire Navy. They will control the biggest shipping lanes on the ocean and we won’t do jack about it. At least we are running our fleets on bio something which will save the planet, but leave an open door for China to own the ocean all the way to the Phillipines and closet. Then there is Libya.
Man, it’s hard being such a unexceptional country. I remember when “those people” were demostrating in Hong Kong demanding we (the USA) fund AIDS research and come up with a cure ASAP because we had the money, the talent, and the heart. Protesting in the streets demanding we fix the problem. That was before AIDS got kicked off the front page by Monica or Man Cow disease, or something new at the time.
I remember when The Tsunami hit and the US got sued for not providing them (those soverign nations) with an advanced early warning system. Hey, it’s all our fault. Sure, a judge tossed the case, but it just shows ya how we are called upon by friends and foes alkie to spend, spend, spend. The picture of the Thai guy or Indonesian wearing a Osamba Bin Lying tee shirt as he was off loading US aide after the big wave hit will always stick in my mind.. “Death to America and Brother can you spare a dime, my American friend, you capitalist pig.”
Yep, it gets expensive kissing the world’s boo-boos and making all the other unexception countries feel good about themselves. I prefer to keep our dollars home, but is a cruel world out there. Let NATO (our money) take care of Ukraine. Let Turkey house the refugees in nice camps to spare Europe (with our money). Heck, under Secretary Clinton’s watch, the State Department came up with 8 billion unaccounted for dollars, US. 8 billion vanished into thin air. Hope that was off budget. No, it ain’t cheap when you haven’t learned to say “no”. No is a complete statement, unless you are a socialist. No is not a word used in libbie lexicon. Big hearts equate to big spending and love means never having to say No Mad.LikeLike

I get nervous when people claim God spoke to them. While not in a position to say the Divine Voice is fact or fiction while reading the police blotter, I figured if God really spoke to Jimmy Swaggert, don’t you think He would have said “Jimmy, don’t pick up that ho. There is a police car in your rear view mirror.”
Seems God told Pat Roberts and Martin O’Malley to run for President because he wanted them to look like fools. And The Glorious and Mericful Allah told a bunch of his followers to show no mercy.

Lol. Too funny. Leave no stone unturned, investigate the why for years into the future, ROTFLMFUEO.
Unbelievable. Where o where to look first? At least the DOJ has a sense of humor about the mass murder in the name of The Glorious and Merciful Allah. I know, I know! It was an act of compassion.LikeLike

“too little government is just as big a disaster”

Reading the story you linked, RL, the disaster causing the angst is having more government than they can afford. That’s too much government, not too little.LikeLike

When comparing the much celebrated Scandinavian socialists, we haven’t discussed what their budgets would look like if they started spending the minimum 2% of GDP on their militaries. If their defense free ride ever comes to an end, then watch what happens to either their tax rates or the service cuts from all their government programs.
And yes, outsourcing as many social services as possible to the competitive, greedy, profit-motivated private sector has cut expenses wherever it has been tried. Much to everyone’s surprise, to get its costs under control Sweden is currently a leading purveyor of this policy.LikeLike

Some people just can’t be pleased. After crying about getting money out of politics (and the election process), Trump is under fire for having only a million bucks in his war chest. They are saying he isn’t serious about his run, proof given that he unlike his opponent does not hold 2 fundraisers for every public appearance. Sure, Trump has had a few fundraisers, almost exclusively for other candidates or the Party. Hmm.
Trump running around on a shoestring is not the way to do things! Bad Trump, bad. Freak out time. He needs the machinery of money in politics to win, right? He is doing it all wrong. This can’t be good. Scarlet Fever is reported to be found alive and well in Fallujah, no data released as yet. Those poor citizens just can’t catch a break. ISIS fleeing in dresses swimming across the Eurphrates, leaving a mess behind. Talk about hiding behind Moma’s skirts. TB outbreaks in new refugee and immigrant clusters in the US. The once wiped out Whooping Cough and measles is making a comeback here as well. What can we do to prevent this unwelcome comeback of diseases that kill children? Apparently our Federal Government’s solutions have made our nation’s disease problems worse. Wearing a rubber won’t do a thing to wipe out whooping cough, TB, or the measles. One poor little girl is in ICU right now after coming into contact with a carrier of diseases. Bad news for the homeland. Very alarming.

Paul, thanks on the Warren pieces. Hillary may believe that Wall Street will come around anyway, as Warren’s contributions to the platform may be perceived far less important than her verbal and social media abilities against the orange haired fraud from NYC. Certain that Hillary has no intention of a full frontal assault on Wall Street, which might put hiccups into her economic plans in the first year. No idea on VP, but certain it won’t be a brain dead unknown Governor from a meaningless political state.

Our highway problem discussed by Todd and Tozer is a contitutional one. Been watching it from the beginning when Gov Brown and his fellow Democrats talked California voters into allowing the General Fund to borrow money from the Transportation Fund for other modes of transportation…rails etc. they neglected to stipulate when the borrower had to pay it back. At that time the Gov raved on and on how rich the TF was, and that drivers wouldn’t have to pay higher gas and fuel taxes, drivers license and other driving fees. What he and his party were doing was meddling with our commerce, economy and constitution. Taxation without representation was (is?) illegal. When a tax is imposed on specific people to pay for what they need and use its not supposed to be used for other things. Obviously, there will never be enough money for what it’s intended, and necessitate raising taxes and fees continually. Unfortunately, not long after voters approved the theft of highway funds, it became necessary to increase all taxes and fees on those who keep our economy moving. It’s been the never ending story wver since.

Tozer, you can thank the anti-vaxxers, many of them locals, for the measles and whooping cough problems. No fan of anti-vaxxers who cannot read scientific data and think for themselves. The other emerging threats from the middle east will have to be closely monitored for immigrants and visitors, as they are now. Sorry, no matter how far you reach, its not a problem caused by President Obama.

Jon i have highly educated medical doctor relatives who tell a different story. What’s good for one can kill another, that’s why so many side affects are listed on prescriptions, and why there are so many lawsuits over injury and deaths. That’s why we use the term “practicing medicine.” And then there are eye witnesses regarding a normal child being physically crippled directly after vaccination. Why the heck would anyone want to be liable, and admit it? Therefore what the parent witnessed isn’t true…according to all those who might be liable. Anyway, I’m sure vaccination has its good side, but some doctors feel young children are being over-vaccinated. Our body is our personal responsibility. If I’m not vaccinated, and you are…I’m no threat to you. But you might be a threat to me.

Didn’t know you were an anti-vaxxer Bonnie. I’ve always heard the stereotype that they were wild eyed libs from wild places like Marin and The Ridge harboring runny nosed, barefoot kids.
Absolutely false last sentence Bonnie, as an unvaccinated kid IS a threat to my vaccinated kid. You certainly know vaccines aren’t 100% effective, right? So you’re entitled to your opinion, but its not based in science. Like any injectable or drug, there are small populations who aren’t suited for it. Obviously they shouldn’t get it. What to make of it when every Pediatrician at the largest group in the area supports full childhood vaccination. Every doctor I’ve been to supports vaccines and every MD I know personally supports vaccines. Shudder to think where we would be without childhood vaccines….LikeLike

Breaking news, folks! Just in from Mother Jones!
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/06/nobillnobreak-sit-still-going-strong-house
Oooooh! They’re reading the names of the victims!
Let’s see – blacks that couldn’t buy guns to protect themselves from lynch mobs?
Uh – no.
Victims killed by illegals allowed to roam freely by the Obama admin?
Uh – no.
Folks slaughtered because they couldn’t get CCPs?
Uh – no.
Boy Howdy – they want ‘universal background checks’.
Is showing your photo ID involved?
YES!
So – blacks want to disenfranchise other blacks (you know – the ones that don’t get free federal protection) by keeping them from exercising their Constitutional rights.
Could some one pul-eeze let me know when the left has some sort of semi-coherent value system?
The left wants to violate American citizens’ Constitutional rights because some pin head in DC put their name on a list. No hearing, no trial, no due process, no nothing. Sorry – your name appears on our list. Buttle? – Tuttle? Who cares?
And the murderers can get guns any time they want illegally or just use other means.
Give up your liberty for the false promise of safety, you serfs.
Guns have NO place in schools except when Hillary or Obama’s kid’s are in a class room.
You can die on your feet or on your knees.
Since the American left spends most of its time on knee pads, I think I know where they want to be when the bullet comes.
And for you Gary Johnson types – why is he silent now?
I thought he was a Libertarian.
As always – have a great day!LikeLike

The Middle-Class Exiting California Continues:
During the 12 months ending June 30, the number of people leaving California for another state exceeded by 61,100 the number who moved here from elsewhere in the U.S., according to state Finance Department statistics. The so-called “net outward migration” was the largest since 2011, when 63,300 more people fled California than entered.
