Consider the following in light of the administration’s recent barrage of lies about terrorism, Islam, and homeland security.

Proper use of Bayesian statistics and decision support has kept Islamists at bay in many countries – Israel is the poster child – around the world.  Our homeland security apparatus eschews such modern advances under the politically correct and logically tragic label of ‘profiling’.

Since 9/11 over 580 people in America have been charged with terrorism, almost all of them Muslims.

Al Qaeda and ISIS have been the main recruiters, trainers, and inspirers of in-country terrorism around the world.  Totally contrary to Team Obama’s lies, these and other Islamist organizations have come into being, gained prominence, and/or maintained their strength during the Obama years in the their war on western civilization, a conflict totally denied by America’s progressives and illustrated by our existential foreign policy.  In response the best he could do to support his boss, CIA Director Brennan testified, “Our efforts have not reduced ISIS terrorism capability and global reach.”

"Ultimately, we ought to have the tools where we have a security test, not a religious test, a security test, and we think that's the preferred route to go.", Speaker Paul Ryan.   “We have to start thinking about profiling.”, Donald Trump.  Now who is unclear on the concept?

[23jun16 update]  The insane nation debilitating laws and regulations promoted and passed by the Left is an ongoing torrent that is literally impossible to track and report by any one media outlet or blog.  (The lamestream naturally ignores reporting on such matters.)  But there are enough ultra-stupid ones in the stream that deserve notice.  In Sacramento SB1139 comes to our attention.  The Democrat railroaded legislation permits the state to give priority to illegal alien applicants to California’s medical schools.  The reasons for doing such a butt stupid thing are beyond the comprehension of most Americans, and impossible to recount by the remaining light thinkers that stack the constituencies of our Agenda21 politicians.

[23jun16 update2]  Today’s Brexit vote underscores in spades the RR teaching that mankind neither understands nor knows the transfer function of human societies in any of its undertakings.  For the layman, a transfer function is fundamental to understanding how a system works, i.e. with what outputs it responds to inputs.  Yesterday the markets were setting new highs in expectation that the Brits would reject Brexit – the Dow was up over 230 points, crude was significantly up as gold was down.  This evening at this writing the Dow futures are down 600 points, crude is down 5.66%, gold is up 4.66%.  And our double dufus divisions of central planners understand none of this as they continue to prescribe ever more one-size-fits-all national policies for America led by our fearless community organizer who has learned not one discernible thing about governance in his two terms in the White House.

The latest bizarre turn of the Orlando shooting story probably should go here and not the sandbox… here goes…
A gay friend with benefits of the shooter (described as “100% gay”) has given an interview on Univision (while heavily disguised)… and his story is that it was retribution against the gay Hispanic community for his being used, and specifically a rage over a more recent threesome where one of the other two (who were Puerto Ricans) later disclosed as HIV positive.
This is looking less and less radical Islamist and more personal rage, with the ISIS angle being a cover. Going out in an unearned blaze of glory.

Gregory 927am – have any idea how to vet such a report? My own question is, if true, then why wouldn’t the killer have broadcast his revenge instead of burying it under the banner of Islamist terror. Given their threesome, he had to know that that aspect would quickly become known, so why waste your martyrdom?

Just the facts, ma’am. Sudanese? It’s that what the French call North Africans or also known as “southerners” because naming the killers’ country of origin a big PC no-no? Must be them Southerners, wearing theirblack hoods and killing innocent people, just like the KKK.

So, a love triangle with twos company, three is a crowd, eh? All is fair in love and war. However, the real culprit has been named. Those who are pinning the blame are such attention whores. Like, if there is not a camera in their faces, they feel left out. Maybe they just need some love and be the number topic again. Ah, the summer of discontent and post party letdown. And depression. No sharing Victimhood. That would be make them feel threatened, which is violence by the oppressors.

George, I think the shooter was hoping to leave a legacy as a martyr to the new Caliphate rather that a whiny gay slut who couldn’t get a date. Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay or a slut.

ie, mass shootings can be for any number of reasons with easy access to assault weapons, including a dumb angry Christian white boy getting canned at Waffle House and coming back to extract revenge. Coming to a cheap breakfast joint near you.

JonD 719pm – Yes, they “can be for any number of reasons”, but overwhelmingly they are not.

Fish I heard that today too. The “journalist” was going to prove the waiting period was bogus and when he tried to buy a gun he was skunked for his wife beatings. And alcohol problems. He tried to leave that out of the story but his editor said nope. Good for the editor. Anyway, the man is now the laughingstock of the country.

Why do you keep using the term assault weapons, when none of the mass shooting used a fully automatic weapon. Your so-called assault weapons are not machine guns or assault rifles.
According to David Kopel, writing in The Wall Street Journal:
What some people call “assault weapons” function like every other normal firearm—they fire only one bullet each time the trigger is pressed. Unlike automatics (machine guns), they do not fire continuously as long as the trigger is held. … Today in America, most handguns are semi-automatics, as are many long guns, including the best-selling rifle today, the AR-15, the model used in the Newtown shooting. Some of these guns look like machine guns, but they do not function like machine guns.

Looks do not count. If it does not function like an assault weapon it is not an assault weapon. If if does not quack like a duck, it is not a duck.
I know that you are not stupid, so why do you act stupid by tossing around the meaningless “assault weapon” term? Could it be that it has nothing to do about controlling guns, but controlling people? Is it really about coastal liberals putting the bitter clingers in flyover country in their place, asserting the supremacy of bicoastal liberal power. If that is true, then limiting guns is not the real objective, it is about exerting power over the bitter clinger and putting them in their place. An impossible task during election season, the coastal politicians need those bitter clingers votes. No new gun control this political season!
So why not look smart and stop using the term “assault weapons” unless you are referring to a fully automatic weapon.

RussS 1020pm – People who use such ‘assault weapon’ arguments are either fools or cynics who consider their audience to be fools. I judge Mr Dozer not to be a bad person and will therefore give him the benefit of doubt by simply ascribing him a fool.
