I was watching the news to see how the meeting between GOP headman Reince Preibus, Speaker Paul Ryan and The Donald was going, but there wasn’t much to report so I switched to a movie channel playing “The Lion in Winter.” It’s probably pretty much the same script.

I think the entire Trump phenomenon is going to end in tears. Since it was going to anyway I’d at least prefer it to be entertaining as we auger in.LikeLike

Don B, Are you saying the Republican party printed the Yes on W signs? Because from what I’ve read on YubaNet, they did not notice who paid for them nor were they claimed on the Republican’s FPPC filings. Looks like you guys may be guilty of the things you accused us of doing during the S campaign. However, I won’t go through your reports looking for errors, but I expect others will.

waffling? Or putting doubt in our minds? We don’t care. Blank check is fine. This is not a election about making mountains out of molehills. This is a movement. This is a hostile takeover of just one major political party before it even starts to get ugly. Democrats have no such worries, The DNCwill continue to squelch opposing ideas and that Party will be free of dissent and hostile takeovers driven by the voters. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Trump respects a good fighter. That’s why he is paying off Cruz’s campaign debt. Least he could do for someone he respects. Think he respects Bernie’s fighting spirit as well, watching Betnie taking on every Senator, congressperson, mayor, and city council person the DNC can throw at him. Respect is earned not given. Something foreign to the status quo. The Dems’ playbook has no answers to a pissed off populace.
People’s feelings getting hurt is not a consideration. Minimum wage? Trump knows minimum wages are a joke and lifts no one out of poverty. No one. A good economy gets people out of the abyss if they got any gumption. Minimum wage? A non issue. The libs idea of the shining city on the hill is minimum wage increases, ROFLMFUEO.. Boy, what a limited vision and falls too short. Way to short to even belabor. Safe places? The best safe place is within our borders in a secure nation.
Go ahead, call Trump a flip flopper. Shout he does not mean what he says. Tell us he does not intend to build a wall. Spread doubt! That is exactly what the NeverTrump# had in its playbook. They tried it after Ohio when they thought it would work. Oh, it didn’t work, but maybe if they keep on trying…..

GeorgeB, you missed my attempt at irony and humor. I think it is time to elect a “citizen representative”. Not all issues are possible to be opined on by anyone. So, I want this great experiment to continue and see if the people of America will come along. Nothing is certain. And with Obama headed to Hiroshima for what some say is an apology to them for the bomb, even history is uncertain.

No Russ, its actually about a poorly run business model facing challenges in solar. Way better to be in solar than coal for the long run :). Duh.
In the much larger picture of cheap zero-carbon energy becoming cheaper, take a look at this story.
http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2016/05/12/3776728/climate-change-solutions
And although not related to solar, Tesla’s pre-selling program is no different than what Trump or any other real estate developer/promoter would do with prospective tenants in a hot new proposed high rise in Miami Beach or such. You think every detail of a building is known to prospective tenants putting their money down- based on some slick multi-media presentation? LOL.LikeLike

Does solar have a better future than coal? Of course it does. It’s govt policy to ram solar down our throats at any cost and coal is to be run out of business by govt fiat.
So, yeah – DUH!LikeLike

Sock puppet “Jon” 2:05, If there is a GOP President, House and Senate come January, coal will begin a rebound. In fact, if you keep track of the KOL ETF, it already has.
If the heliosphere during Solar Cycles 25, 26 and 27 is as low an energy level as is now predicted, increasing low clouds because more ionizing galactic cosmic rays create many more cloud condensation nuclei, not only will it be colder but solar energy performance will be even lower. 30+ years of continuing punchlines for late night comedians. Many believe the cooling has already begun, being temporarily masked by the now fading El Nino.
The solar coersive utopians are going to have a rough patch as they ponder the new Maunder.LikeLike

Experts have offered stark warnings that proposed power plants in India, China, Vietnam and Indonesia would blow Paris climate deal if they move ahead.
In an unusually stark warning, the World Bank president, Jim Yong Kim, noted that countries in south and south-east Asia were on track to build hundreds more coal-fired power plants in the next 20 years – despite promises made at Paris to cut greenhouse gas emissions and pivot to a clean energy future.
ooo
On their own, China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam account for three-quarters of new coal-fired power plants expected to be built around the world in the next five years. In India alone about 300 million people live without access to electricity.
Vietnam is planning to build 40 GigWatts of coal power. Asian countries are still developing their economic base and they require cheap reliable power, which coal can provide. They do not have money to spend on alternative energy subsidies, plus the wind and solar are not reliable sources. They require fossil fuel backups, so why not just use the backup and avoid the cost of alternative energy. Asian’s are smarter than US government regulator who admit that closing down coal power plants will not have any impact on the climate.
Over a period of twenty months, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy repeatedly concedes that the Agency’s sweeping climate-regulation of America’s fossil fuel-fired power plants will have no impact on the Earth’s climate. McCarthy openly admits that the Clean Power Plan “is not about end of pipe controls.” Instead, she says the rule is about “driving investment in renewables…, [and] advancing our ongoing clean energy revolution”. McCarthy says, “That’s what… reinventing a global economy looks like.” Details HERE.
As you can see above the Asians are not buying the EPA’s “reinventing a global economy”, they are building a coal based economy. Plus, their scientists have read the solar tea leaves and they know from history, a quiet sun, has brought cold and drought laden misery to their people. They do not live in a phantasy world like the President and his EPA fellow travelers.
In the meantime, back in the US, the advice of investment managers is, if a Republican is elected President, buy, buy, buy coal stocks. They are going to soar. Coal will rise again, back from the progressive’s economic graveyard.LikeLike

Fish, satire is dead only on today’s campuses. Comedians from the Chris Roc to others testify it’s a tough crowd…a real tough crowd born with no funny bone. Or is it the environment they are in? The old heredity vs environmental argument. Opps, forgot to include the sacred halls of The US Senate with college campuses. Yep, Harry Reid went off again calling us knuckledraggers every name in the Dem playbook. He is incapable of seeing the irony and is a wee bit touchy to any form of satire. Plus, nothing new. Lacks imagination.
Todd @ 8:58am, your post reminded me of this article I did not post last month along the lines of minimum wage increases. The debate is over, lol. Every year when the girls were mid-teens, drove them every summer all the way down to the back alleys and nooks and crannies of LA’s garment district. Buy good clothes straight off the racks or inside the sweatshops. You would not believe the bargains they had. Told the girls do not ever pay asking price. “This is LA, not like back home”, I instructed as 80 bucks of clothing for each for back to school down there was too much to even carry, but I digress. How I know the back alleys of the mean streets is also a topic for another day.
Sure, there is always some retailer out there that pays their employees above minimum wage. Never without a story without including them, amidst the bigger truer picture. They are but the exception, usually in niche markets.

“(Asians)they are building a coal based economy”. Russ
Actually, the Chinese are not. The power brokers cannot live in the cities anymore because of the toxic pollution, and they realize a revolt of millions would occur in the absence of action. The worm has turned in China in the last few years. India is now grappling with the impact of growing coal. They are determined to grow their economy but are also aware of the massive societal impacts of coal. Not as far along as China in setting out carbon reduction goals.LikeLike

A Muslim and a little girl walk into a public bathroom and left as good friends. If Big Bro would only butt out and quit messing with their civil rights.

Upon future consideration, maybe it is not such a good idea to make it easier for child predators. With all the tough laws and experts testifying that there is no known cure for child molesters, child predators, and sickos, I done thought we were supposed to make it harder for child predators, silly me. Oh yeah, it’s another civil rights thang.

Story about Jenner having buyer’s remorse turns out to be false, BTW. Cannot believe everything you read…or glad i did some investigation into that story.
Seems this transgender place to pee is an emotional issue….for those Moms and Dads out there. Especially when it comes to daughters. Now. If there is only one Jon to use, no problem. Everybody gets a crack at it. Probably not a huge issue in restaurant jons. But, but, but, but….when it comes to underage teens in the middle school shower rooms and locker rooms, that be another story. So,I am changing my tune, flip flopping if you will
When I see President Obama or his lovely First Lady allow their girls to walk into a unisex shower room unattended, then I might change my tune again. Lead by example kind of thing. Being well versed on the law, I am certain that President Obama can quote Title 7 or Title 9 to explain to me about “civil rights”. He, being a former Constitutional Law lecturer at Harvard is well aware that the 2nd Amendment was the first amendment devoted solely to civil rights. Making it easier for men to legally walk into the little girls’ room must be a civil right…for the defendant. Heck, the way Dems are progressing down this road, it won’t be long before rape becomes a civil right and is legalized. Until then, I side with The Lone Star State. One riot, one Ranger and all that stuff. To all young ladies, little girls, and theirs devoted caring nurturing parents, “Remember the Alamo”.

I believe former Femminist Guru Gloria Steinmen was on to something when she explained why Hillary hadn’t captured the hearts and minds of millennial women voters. She said its because they are young and Bernie is the place where all the young men are. Skirts chasing pants, pants chasing skirts. Been that way for centuries, eras, and eons. Yes, Ms. Gloria was young once too, believe it or not.
Anyway, Gloria’s remarks caused quite a stir, mostly by female millennials ready to vote. Ok, exclusively by our fine young females of voting age. Unfortunately for them, the young men at Weekend at Bernie’s got scared of something and hightailed it out of there and over to Trump Rallyville for fun and frolicking. A unsolved mystery…until now. Yep, die hard Bernie supporters or not, those rascals are still male. Thus they think with their little heads at that age. Wonder what scared them??

Todd, 11:45, to my knowledge no major aspect of Federal employment law, including wage laws, has ever been found to be unconstitutional. Please take it up with Justice Roberts. If you can afford it. But somehow “Gregory” hasn’t received the memo.
Yeah….Elvis, JFK and Bigfoot…..well you know! These things are never settled.LikeLike

Mr. Dozer, what a sight that makes eyes sore. Figured that ever since Walt stopped playing with you, you would come running back to me. Oh, I forgive ya and your indiscretions, you two timing hussie, you. I missed my adopted aborted friend. I love you, Mr. Dozer. I sure missed your constipation of the brain thoughts sprewed forth from your diarehhia of the mouth. Gee, it’s so good to be together again. Reminds me of our song “Me and Julio behind the Schoolyard” . Opps, that was our secret. Sorry.
Trumpt’s butler? I wish. If it were so, I could make a bundle right now selling my memoirs. But, I prefer working outdoors. However, kissing behinds behind closed doors while being an insufferable snob is more up your alley. Heard you held your head real steady and level when Herb used it as the perfect place to set his coffee cup. Good boy, Mr. Dozer, good doggie. Bet you had a nice view of things. And here I thought you might need a hankie just in case you got a nosebleed from your lofty perch. Man o man, was I ever wrong.
Now….drumroll please…..ladies and gentlemen, straight from the party that brought us Jim Crow laws and child molesters in little girls bathrooms, I present to you the one…the only….the knee pad wearer himself…put your hands together and give a big Welcome Back to Mr. Dozer and his High Steppin’ Brown Shirt Band!!

So Dozer why do you dislike the US Constitution so much? You are a supporter apparently of the SCOTUS decision on Dredd Scott since you remain silent. Looks like you ass was kicked on your claims.
