Yes….whether it’s typos, substituting “college” for “colleague”, or people with guns welcome to another “What’s jeffy afraid of Sunday”!

Last night the NC Republicans held their Spring Dinner fund raiser at the Alta Sierra Country Club. It was a well-attended affair. Local luminary and friend to these pages Todd Juvinall was also in attendance, and gives a fine accounting of the evening on his blog.

Oh NO! This poll is not going to make jon a happy camper.
Gallup: No interest in Clinton even among Democratic women.
Women are increasingly turning their noses up at the 2016 election, including Democratic women despite the likelihood that their party’s nominee will be one of them, according to a new Gallup survey of the gender gap in those closely following the election.
Women have never paid as much attention to the current race as men, but Gallup found that the attention gap has expanded in recent months.
Once just two points apart, in February, the gap is now 13 points and is seen in both Democratic and Republican ranks as men continue to be engaged in the election dominated by news coverage of Republican Donald Trump.
Well, the ZOMG they’re coming for our lady parts! hysteria has worn off, but expect new efforts along those lines. If it’s mostly men who vote in November, Hillary’s doomed. –Glenn ReynoldsLikeLike

“[Charles] Koch, one of the most influential and controversial forces in Republican politics, said in an exclusive interview with ABC News to air Sunday on “This Week” that he believed Bill Clinton was a better president “in some ways” than George W. Bush.
“In other ways, I mean [Clinton] wasn’t an exemplar. But as far as the growth of government, the increase in spending,” Koch said. “It was 2.5 times [more] under Bush than it was under Clinton.””
Charles, Charles. Clinton had Newt Gingrich as his dominant speaker, while Bush II had Hastert and Pelosi, not to mention 9/11 taking down the world trade center and, for a time, a bipartisan popular war to clean out Al Qaeda’s center in Afghanistan and later, other Middle Eastern terrorist sponsors… including Iraq… whose regime change calls were voted in by the Senate with Clinton’s blessings.
Not to turn this into a Bush II love fest, but let’s not tip our hat to Bill Clinton when it was Gingrich that dragged him kicking and screaming into his only real Presidential successes.LikeLike

Re Gregory 1254pm – From this I deduce that Mr Goodknight does not consider among Clinton’s “real Presidential successes” his lurch toward HillaryCare, and that he was able to successfully avoid coitus with Monica with a simple workaround.

Since Hillarycare turned the House of Representatives over to the Republicans, and no significant legislation was passed, it seems no one thinks it was a Bill Clinton success.
I’m not sure Bill’s success with Monica stands up to JFK’s success with Marilyn… much more Presidential!LikeLike

Re Gregory 1254pm Lets not forget that President Bill Clinton had multiple opportunities to get BL before he could plan the 9/11 disaster and muffed it multiple times. Clinton failed to lead. Bush, on the other hand, took action where actions were needed. Yes, there were WMDs in Iraq, some went to Syria and some were buried and ISISl is now digging those buried WMDs up for future use.
Sorry, lefties with Bush Derangement Syndrome, take two aspirin and two glasses of water and you will feel fine in the morning.LikeLike

Dr. R, In the weeks the Republican HQ has been open in Nevada County there has not been a day without independents and Reagan dems re-registering as R’s. I have been in the HQ every day for weeks on end with only a couple of days out in the field last week and can say there were none of those game players you describe. I had one who would fit that bill but she got cold feet and failed to complete the process. This primary cycle is breaking the historical pattern and in my voting life. The fact CA is in play alone is a game changer for us. Its gonna be a fun ride into November! YES ON W!

Nevada County is spending more than $650K in its latest contract to promote economic development, which includes drawing college-educated millennials to our community. Meanwhile, the county is becoming a haven for citizens militia groups, global warming deniers and other right-wing extremist philosophies. The message being sent comes through loud and clear: college-educated millennials go home! What a tragedy.I think he’d rather stay in and fuss.

They may not like the current front runners in the Republican primaries, but that’s a long, long way from ‘supporting’ Hillary.LikeLike

It does not look like those San Francisco Values that our local lefty blogger is promoting are working out too well for the citizens of San Francisco.
San Francisco Torn as Some See ‘Street Behavior’ Worsen:
Recent data from the F.B.I. show that San Francisco has the highest per-capita property crime rate of the nation’s top 50 cities. About half the cases here are thefts from vehicles, smash-and-grabs that scatter glittering broken glass onto the sidewalks.
The city, known for a political tradition of empathy for the downtrodden, is now divided over whether to respond with more muscular law enforcement or stick to its forgiving attitudes.
The Chamber of Commerce and the tourist board are calling for harsher measures to improve what is euphemistically called the “condition of the streets,” a term that encompasses the intractable homeless problem, public intravenous drug use, the large population of mentally ill people on the streets and aggressive panhandling. The chamber recently released the results of an opinion poll that showed that homelessness and “street behavior” were the primary concerns of residents here.
Why Are Democrat-Run Cities Such Cesspits Of Rampant Lawlessness And Violence? We are lucky to have some Republicans in charge in Nevada County, let’s keep San Francisco Values where they belong in the City!LikeLike

As a counter argument to my 03:30PM post the FUE writes:
Red States Have Higher Crime Rates Than Blue States, By Dr. Eric Ostermeier September 16, 2009
Note the data is seven plus years old, if that is the best the FUE can do, we are winning the cultural arguments of values. Democrat-Run Cities are Cesspits Of Rampant Lawlessness And Violence. I wonder of the FUE can come up with a list of Republican cities that are cesspits of lawlessness and violence that exceed the standards set by the Democrats. I predict crickets will be the response.LikeLike

We had a patient making their medicine blow up their house in Alta Sierra today, the butane hash oil explosion left the house over 3 feet off the foundation. Total loss, thank God for the Fire station in AS that is manned with the brand new fire engine that was paid for by an AS residents donation. Its right on Alta Sierra dr. and with a slower response could have taken the neighborhood if it got hold in the trees.
