[Apologies; it’s past the time for fresh sand. A correspondent sent me this one-liner seen on a t-shirt: "liberalism: moochers electing looters to steal from the producers!"  Now some of our readers are of the zero-sum variety and maintain that it’s the 1% who steal from the 99%.  And that keeps the country destitute, causes foreigners to spurn coming here, and gives rise to the long lines of Americans clamoring to emigrate to greener and socially more just pastures.  gjr]

Then again, the House is being run by illogical, ideological half-wits.

Whew….that’s a relief…..for a minute I was afraid that it didn’t match a similar level of idiocy emanating from the executive branch.

Without her ion coming in. There would be a lot less drug addicts and music icons. Treating addicts is only part of the solution to a big problem. Start first with hindering the flow of Narcotics flooding our country from the low life scum Mexican Nationals who rape murder pillage.. there is no such thing as a law-abiding pusher or illegal alien
Let’s kill two birds with the same Stone. Stop the flow of Narcotics and scum that carry them on their back into our blessed country.. There is no such thing as a law-abiding illegal alien. There is no such thing as a law-abiding pressure of heroin.

So the ‘jon’ claims the same position on W as SYRCL does he. Neither for or against is their official position of record. While we know that’s not the view of most of them in SYRCL, their tax exempt status means they cant really endorse or fight W, right?

No skim milk. There is a kid out in some playground that just might be lactouse intolerate. Ban all milk for everybody. That poor child is also confused if he is a boy or girl. He must decide before he turns 8 years old if he is a she or a he or it or a Hershey bar. After seven and a half years of Obama, our president has left us with the legacy of we don’t know which bathroom to use.

    Walt and Todd,
It truly is sad that you both got left behind in school, in the days before “No Child Left Behind”, the program started by the man you and so many of your ilk both admire.
But some advice, if I may- being bitter about your plight, and scapegoating today’s more educated and enlightened young people won’t really help matters. Accept it, take remedial training classes- and I would suggest some yoga, meditation and environmental classes while you’re at it.
Good for your tortured souls. Earth Day is a perfect day to reflect on matters.

This one is too easy for the non liberal mind. As soon as I heard a few weeks ago that the amoral immigrants from North Africa were heading to Sicily, I said, “Oh boy, this should be fun.” Mafia and North African cultures do not mix. Ever wonder why there are no terrorist attacks on Sicilian soil? Answer: cause the Mafia does not put up with that kind of hanky panky on the home turf. That be disrespectful. They protect their people, especially their women.
In all fairness, there seems to be two kinds of Arabs/Muslims, depending on their country of origin. The lion’s share of the rape epidemic raging across Civilized and Tolerate Euroland can be directly laid at the feet of the Libyans, Moroccans, and tribal countries of that area. Very very Stone Age uneducated thieving misogynists. All Arabs are misogynists (be it political, social, cultural, religious), but this patch is the scum on top of the puke bucket. Their gang raping actions can be traced to anywhere they trod. Sort of like the PLO. Everywhere the PLO went, the place turned to shit. Think Beruit pre-PLO and then think Beriut post-PLO. Not all Arabs act that way. Syrian Christians, Jordanians, some Iraqis come to mind, put I digress. There is bad and there is the worst.

Passed the House on May 23, 2001 (384–45)
Passed the Senate on June 14, 2001 (91–8)
It was as much Teddy Kennedy’s bill as it was GW Bush’s, possibly more, and had Obama actually made deals that could unite the country rather than divide it, we’d be in better shape.

What a putz “Jon” is… perhaps the strongest bipartisan landslide in modern Congressional memory and all “Jon” can do is spin partisan BS.
California was already on a roll doing NCLBish testing in ’01, and by then we already had the best content standards in the US in place. Too bad the education mafia helped shed the process in place for the empty Common Core promise of Race to the Top grant funding. Too bad the state didn’t get a penny to help pay the Billion$ “Common Core” is costing us. Of course, at the time no one knew that the guy (Phil Daro, whose only degree remains a BA English) who directed the 1992 California Math Frameworks disaster was the Chairman and a lead author of the Common Core math standards disaster.
Personally, the whole NCLB concept as stated in the title was Bull from the start. Of course there will be kids left in the dust, no matter what the Congress tries to do. There is too much a range of abilities and motivation among students, and among teachers and administrators, to ever make a promise of none being left behind. Failure is always an option, for students, teachers and administrators. Congresscritters, too.

In the Senate, only 2 Democrats voted against it.
Yet, once the dogpile on Bush was called by Dems, it became George’s fault, held in contempt by the likes of “Jon”, sounding a lot like Pelline today. You can’t make this stuff up. It was a Democratic landslide in both the House and the Senate.

“Jon”, the Democratic Party support for NCLB was nearly as complete as it’s support for Obamacare, and it didn’t take Pelosi’s whip to make it happen.
Here’s yet another account of the process

Recall the context of those times. President Bush had won reelection after the nightmarish Florida recount and Supreme Court decision and many Democrats wanted nothing to do with him. The president nevertheless extended his right hand to Democrats, and one who took it was the biggest Democrat of all, Ted Kennedy. He came to dinner with the Bushes, watched a movie at the White House and generally started to work with Bush on reforming federal education law.
Throughout 2001, while Bush was getting hammered by many Democrats for pursuing tax cuts, Kennedy kept working on a center-out strategy with the White House and the Hill on education reform. Through painstaking negotiations, the foursome worked with Bush domestic advisers Margaret Spellings and Sandy Kress on the legislation.
What I loved was the political approach of that bill: It didn’t start as conservatives trying to get liberals to sign on, or liberals trying to get conservatives to sign on. It instead started with both sides meeting in the middle and figuring out a way to produce a bill they both could support.
    <a href="http://educationfrontblog.dallasnews.com/2009/08/ted-kennedy-and-no-child-left.html/

Bush didn’t take “complete credit”…. it was a masterful cooperative venture from the start.

Walt, you never know if those patriot women are all libs. Half-brain Gabby owns a glock. Too bad she wasn’t carrying on that fateful day the crazy white Democrat plugged her in the noggin. Sad. Biden’s wife is armed as well. Probably to protect her from Shotgun Joe when his fondness for putting his hands on women arises. Did like the interesting holsters and accessories displayed on your link. Very informative.
But, a word of caution. I once was all google eyed over a fine lassie. Very independent and self sufficient. She had a whole collection of firearms and knew how to use then. Married that one when proposed, but later bought the ranch with that chapter. At least I escaped with a holely shirt on my back and life.
She even has an wrought iron sign over her property’s entrance/driveway.. It’s called Crazy Lady Ranch. Very rustic I must say.

As for the “jon’s” question, I say,,, go “F” yourself. It’s high time you stop asking questions, since you don’t have the balls to answer anything of substance. How hard to you work to be a royal prick? “jon” must be your middle name because your first name is Dick.

OK smartass,, who did? what gun was used? Where did they acquire said weapon? Was it a pissed family member? Was dope being grown there?
    No you don’t.
All you want to do is blame the gun, not the killer(s) (was there more than one OH great Carnak?) Where is your bitch about blaming the car when a person is killed in a traffic fatality? As usual where LIBS are concerned is that the gun is the evil killer. Funny, where any other instrument is used to kill, not a word. Axe? Going to blame the axe maker? Same with a hammer? Nope, the gun is special.
You want answers? You first shit for brains. (Like AGW..not bloody likely)

Just a rhetorical question … at what point do the “Jon”‘s of the world let go of their Bush Derangement Syndrome? Is this something they’ll take to the grave?
The main flaw of No Child Left Behind was the idiotic, impossible name, and the way incompetent schools dealt with the challenge of occasional testing that sought to hold the schools accountable… spending huge amounts of time teaching to the test. In concert with those issues was the fact that any given teacher shouldn’t be tarred with the level of the students that walk into their class, but rather rewarded or shown the door based upon how much the students learn in the year they spend with them. Imagine what we might have learned about individual teachers and the administrators that provided cover had the Sacramento Bee or The Union done Value Added Analysis on Nevada County teachers… and named names.

Gregory 813am – Over the years I’ve noted that when a liberal commenter, those whose arguments against some issue consist of empty rhetoric filled with name-calling and/or illogical non sequiturs, are countered with substance as you have again demonstrated here, then their response is simply to ignore and continue their empty rhetoric, change subject, but never answer substance with substance.
This behavior should dissuade none of us from countering with substance since our objective is to inform the other interested readers, and not necessarily to convince our calcified collectivist counterpart.
