In this year of 2016AD, is not the disjunction of our communal knowledge remarkable when it informs a goodly portion of us that capitalism and free enterprise are evil and the prime causes of misery and suffering wherever they are practiced; when in reality these are and continue to be the ONLY social institutions that have liberated humans from millennia of brutish and mind-numbing serfdom that promised each successive generation no relief whatsoever?
[update] And where did this 'goodly portion', especially of the millennials, get such ideas. Well, from their first rate educational experience of course. Today we have thousands of college students who are sensitive and politically correct beyond belief, they demand safe spaces, revisionist history, restricted and censored speech, etc, etc. In Great Britain such unpleasant or 'scrotty' students at Oxford, along with some Rhodes scholars, are demanding the removal of the Cecil Rhodes statue. The university's chancellor, Lord Patten, has responded to them on the British media and more comprehensively by letter which you can download here. Download LordPattenLetter_Feb2016
